A case involving the hidden truth behind the law prohibiting double jeopardy.

When Choi Do-Hyun (Lee Joon-Ho) was a boy, he had a heart disease. He spent most of his childhood in a hospital. He miraculously had a chance for a heart transplant. Right after the successful heart transplant surgery, his father was accused of murder. His father received the death penalty.

To investigate his father's case, Choi Do-Hyun now works as a lawyer.

Kathypg Sep 12 2024 8:42 pm Spoilers: I’m not finished yet, I’m on episode 12. Not sure why the females (YuRi and mad Jin) are mad at Do Hyun. Her son and YuRi dad were going to be killed the minute that information was in their hands. Pil-su was the fall guy, if he kept quiet and took the blame his son would live.

There are some pretty scary and powerful people at the top of this corrupt pyramid.

It made us hope that all the scumbags in our Government in the USA may be brought to Justice for all their shady dealings. We can only Pray! That happens some day!

I couldn't help noticing the actor Lee Junho's face was a bit different in Confession compared to his present face but he really looks more attractive now.

Park Min May 07 2023 6:01 pm One of the most vanilla mystery/law/thrillers, it plays it very safe throughout. It tries to be as friendly to the viewers as possible. Not necessarily a bad thing but sometimes it can come across as too ordinary especially the 2nd half. Speaking of ordinary, the characters, none of them had the special spark or the x factor. They needed more "character" in them.

AM Jul 07 2022 8:46 am One of the best (Korean) thrillers i have seen. The suspense, acting, direction are very high quality and i highly recommend everybody (who loves thriller) should see this one.

Kuroichou May 09 2022 7:49 am This is a "well-done" drama. I think some people might find that the plot twists are not too "twisted" and the thrill is not too "thrilling", but it is a well-balanced and easy to digest legal/ crime drama which you can consume in 1-2 days binge-watching. I can see that the production team had made considerable efforts to make the drama "digestable" and easier to follow for the audience, despite its genre. I really appreciate the way they introduce each characters of the Hwaye story one by one in the first episode and piece them together on Choi Dohyun's board so that forgetful watcher like me can get a good grip of who is who. Cases and characters are also well-connected with each others, allowing no wasted characters or details, nor wasted time on frustrating unwise acts out of emotion. When watched in a row, the story feels simple, but if you compare the magnitude and scope of cases in the last episode to those in the first one, you can see how far and complicated things unfolded, yet so smoothly. Among all characters, I think that even though Choi Dohyun is the main character, he was not an one-man show hero but represents the strength that lies under silence, patience yet perseverance. He did not say a word too many nor make any excuse. When an uncomfortable circumstance comes up, he faced the concerned people heads on without delay. He was tough yet his soft appearance made him endearing and adorable. What I would like to praise the most is the cast's acting. I can see that all actors are keen on act their part to make sure the audience does not feel that they are actors acting, but only look at the characters and the story instead. In particular, I think Lee Junho's acting was superb, he was observant and considerate, matching his breathes with the story and other characters, never overact and allow no moment of awkwardness, nor a moment where the audience can get distracted from the scene. Highly recommended.

Marathon24 Dec 14 2021 7:50 am Highly recommended! It is a great legal/crime drama, but underrated and unpopular. The actors are all great, the story and cases are interesting, and I love how the characters are connected to one another. Give it a go! I finished it in 3 days only, haha.

He is good at all - acting, dialouge delivery, expression display and overall Character potrayal is just superb. He gets engrossed so much in his character, that I dont see Junho I only see his character.. Coming back to Confession , this drama is well written, the secret troubles you since the begening and all the unrelated-afar stories conclude to connect with each other so well it does not look unnatural at all, the mystery unfolds real slow and step by step so that it keeps the interest of the viewer glued to the show. The characters are very well played Captain Ki , Yu Ri, Captain Seo, Madam Jin and worth mentioning Judge Na are some awesome characters to receive all the appreaciation in making the show what it is. I loved the show and would recommend it all to watch atleast once.All love and appreaciation to Lawer Choi and Captain Ki

This series was superb and I immediately finished it because every episode has a cliffhanger that you will surely want to watch the next episode. Also, I love the acting of every casts and they give justice to it. I love how the flow of the story was being executed to its ending. In addition, every episode there are plot twists that will surely kept you in shock!! Well-recommended this series.

kpopandgrime Jan 21 2020 8:20 pm This show is one of the reasons why I LOVE kdramas; esepcially crime/ corruption genres. There was not a single boring episode and each episode got better than the one before. DAEBAK!!!!

the 4 main leads were outstanding and the character development was on another level; well played to both the director and the writer. Yoo Jae-Myung stood out from the rest and im quite fond of him as of now. Ive got to say the intersection on the highway (end of ep 7 ) was a beautiful sight; that stood out or me in this drama. We want a season 2 for sure!!!

S Abyss Jun 15 2019 6:45 am The dynamic here between Choi Do Hyun and Ki Choon Ho is really good, and extra kudos to are needed for Yuri and Mdm Jin. Yuri grows on you after a while, though yes, it was a little annoying at the beginning.

Mdm Jin is just a showstopping team-carry though, with the way she's saved the while group multiple times. Her portrayal of a mother in this show was very strong - the indignity though is that this page doesn't list the son, Prosecutor No, or Prosecutor Yang either.

On the pivotal scene about the heart though, while I feel that Choi Do Hyun cried a lot during the show, at that one scene, it was very well done.

Hoping for a second season, though with the main case tying them all together gone, I doubt it can happen.

Worth watching. I hope they just shoot a special episode for the black bear project. I wanna see Park Sikang suffer in jail. hahahah! Speaking of Park Si kang, Hope I can see him in a movie with Nam Goongmin.

(I normally press the forward button when the pace gets too slow or the story too ridiculous or the acting revolting.) The actors were outstanding. Lee Joon-Ho showed his best performance here.

DW May 16 2019 1:38 am Final episode drew in a 6.2% viewership. Which is better than "good". It's "great", and the whole series had an average viewership of 5% which is good for a tvn drama. It was well received.

JUNHO has again proved himself as a versatile actor.I think his talented must be utilised by the industry in a much better way . The dram just between lovers/ rain or shine even though was a slow one ,he never failed to impress with his acting skills. He is tremendously good at singing too . Hope the industry Will make use of good talents like him in future .

My first thought was "huh, that looks like the Chief Kim cute nemesis guy" then I realized oh, right, that IS the same guy! Their eyes are different, but this look has a Jin Goo sort of vibe with a little Park Seo Joon (Secretary Kim edition) thrown in. Yoo Jae Myung never disappoints, either-is is such a phenomenal veteran actor and can pull off everything from a homeless man drunk around the clock to a scruffy overly serious surgeon or sharp nasty businessman and then turn around and make your eyes watery playing what I assume is most like him, a sweet tender family man. This will be awesome as long as this writer's script holds together on its own-and tvN is the BEST at finding new talent both in actors and writers, hands down (hence the made in tvN meme)!
