Takashi Aoyama (Asuka Kudo) has way to much work to do and pushes himself mentally too hard. He blacks out and collapses at a railroad station. When he is about to be hit by a train, he is saved by Yamamoto (Sota Fukushi) who speaks with an Osaka dialect. After his encounter with Yamamoto, Takashi recovers his bright personality and gets better results at work. One day, Takashi sees Yamamoto boarding a bus to the cemetery with a serious expression.

Based on novel "Chotto Ima Kara Shigoto Yamete Kuru" by Emi Kitagawa (published February 25, 2015 by Kadokawa). Winner of the "Media Works Bunko Prize" at the 21st Dengeki Novel Prize.

Ha Jul 27 2021 2:42 am This is absolutely a worth-watching movie! It's sad to see how harsh living as an employee is and what he has to go through just to have a stable living. However this movie gives me faith that no matter how bad life is, there will always be a way out to be happy again. Never lose hope! I love how they portrayed the friendship of Takashi and Yu. Everyone needs a friend like Yu in their life! But if we don't have any, we can just be the Yu in someone's life.

I can't help but empathize and sympathize with Takashi Aoyama on what he was going through and I feel like busting his boss' mouth and tying him up and probably giving a piece of everyone just to knock some senses on him. I also feel like encouraging everyone to do a mass resignation from that cursed company to teach that old fart a lesson he will never forget. Surely you must treat your bosses/superiors/employers with respect, but definitely not like God! God is infallable, ever so forgiving, compassionate, and slow to anger- not to mention understanding and considerate which aare absolutely this old geezer's

With the climate of japan and even other countries, I feel like this movie was really important. It addressed a really serious topic that effects many people's lives without over depressing you. Extremely touching. The actors are also great.

Tory Apr 06 2018 8:40 am As soon as I read the description, I knew for sure where the story would lead to. In fact, everything would be predictable if you have watched enough movies. That said, this film is a gem. For the first I cried when watching a movie, not because someone died, but because someone realized a reason to live. The scene when Aoyama returned home and talked with his parents is really touching. As another comment has said, it would be more easily for you to feel this film if you have ever been in the same situation as the main character. And I believe people like him are not a minority in this modern society.

lifeatm Apr 04 2018 2:04 am This movie, I think, best resonates with those who've experienced something similar to Aoyama. If you haven't experienced having a job or dealing with senseless people...it would be hard to relate to this movie.

What I liked about this is how they emphasize HOPE, there was a quote they repeatedly said, something along the lines of searching for hope and if you can't find it, create something or do something that'll give you hope.

I'd actually watch this again, it made me feel better about my life.

shun hardcorefan Apr 03 2018 1:23 pm I'm hook with the opening song! It felt really deep into my heart :') but I'm surprised that I don't cry. Before the ending, I felt bored already (x.x) I thought this gonna be really good, I mean I watched the trailer before watching this movie. It just felt something missing. I don't know. I just don't really feel anything :(

Yesterday night, I watched Logan 2017, and I just cry at the end. The same with Okuribito. I watched and I feel the pain and the feeling of the death. Well, it just me. Maybe some of you guys have different opinions. But seriously, I'm hook with the opening song (^0^) that one, I praise you hard ~ i give 6/10. Halfway story not so bad but the ending!!! I just felt something missing x.x
