Yoon Ji-Woo’s (Han So-Hee) father dies suddenly. She wants to desperately take revenge on whoever is responsible for her father's death. Yoon Ji-Woo works for drug crime group Dongcheonpa.Choi Mu-Jin (Park Hee-Soon) is the boss of the drug gang. With the help of Choi Mu-Jin and to uncover the reason for her father's death, Yoon Ji-Woo joins the police department and becomes a mole for the drug group. Yoon Ji-Woo is assigned to work in the drug investigation unit in the police department. Her partner there is Detective Jeon Pil-Do (Ahn Bo-Hyun).

Jillibean Oct 26 2024 4:36 am Acting and production values stupendous for this short drama. With eight episodes you could finish this gritty drama up in only two days. I love the brevity of it, its pace is hypnotic. It must have been nice for our leading lady to do a more laid back, romantic story in another short drama right after this one: Soundtrack #1, one of my top ten favorite short dramas I've watched over twenty years. Really, what would I do without my Kdramas to love? Western TV shows are so ugh compared to Asian dramas.

I started because I was curious about the story but it was just another drama about gangsters with lots of blood. However, Park Hee Soon took my breath away with his amazing acting skills. He just gained a new fan.

RonW May 28 2024 12:36 pm Agree with thrillme. Lots of well choreographed action in a revenge story cannot overcome the crappy ending. The writer leaves the victorious female lead with all the people she had an affectionate, positive connection with dead. So we're supposed to somehow believe she will go on to live a successful normal life after she visits the gravesites of the ashes of her parents and the only lover she had in her life with the satisfied sort of smirky smile the director put on her face in the final scene. After all the betrayals she suffers the writer is her ultimate betrayer.

thrillme Feb 05 2024 10:49 pm 8.5/10 Wanna have the writer arrested for what they did to Jeon Pil-Do. How dare you!! The drama was going fine till the end. There were parts here and there where there's wasted screen time seconds before moving on to the next scene. If that was trimmed off it would be 9. Do Gang-Jae was straight up Ed from 'Lion King'. It's fun for a while then turns extra.

d33rama Jul 10 2023 10:30 pm Solid 9/10 recommend. Strong female lead performance--pure bad assery. No fluff, no romance. Just straight up tough woman with a mission to avenge and seek her revenge by any means possible--Han So-hee captured the essence of the character and story. Director and writers played a heavy hand in this series and it was very detail-oriented. One of my favorite villains in a K-drama series because the performance was flawless and makes the audience so conflicted with a semi-anti-hero arc. Also notable here are the cinematography and wardrobe--shots and lighting were on point, and the actors were all wearing outfits that enhanced the visuals and feel of the story, made it so believable. Lastly, the OST (original soundtrack) was surprisingly great. Overall, very well done. Highly recommend.

Future kdrama star Apr 14 2023 3:21 pm Top revenge drama. Eight episodes is way too short. We need season 2 please. Unpopular opinion but My Name drama is better than the glory. Its more layered and the writing is great for 8 episodes. Every actor was amazing in this drama. Han so-hee was amazing in this! Park Hee Soon is so handsome and his acting was so real. I felt sorry for his character Choi Mujin he is a lonely evil man but he cared about his own including Hye Jin/Ji Woo. Being disloyal to him means you die. I can't believe the twists in episode 8. Choi Mu Jin wanted Hye Jin to be alone like him. It's a 10/10 drama for me.

Marc Apr 09 2023 12:11 pm I really enjoyed this drama. However, it would be really nice if this drama could be remade, giving characters more depth. Show their connections with their families. Show the past connection between Choi MuJin and the monk since there was obviously some history between them. It would be nice to see it extended just a little after JiWoo discovers the truth. She could then continue her fathers work, rather than being a mole for MuJin. The translation was very good.

Shout out to all the cast for this performance. Was really impressed by Park Hee Soon , he really took over every scene without saying much . One of the best performances I’ve seen by a so called “Boss” , plus he was very handsome . Highly recommended to all .

Damn.. anyway this series has been decent overall I enjoyed the story and I liked the characters. I like me some gangsta dramas. Yes it is a bit OTT how the main character is just fighting strong men but nevertheless Han So-Hee has done a good job in portraying her character, I like that she took on this strong fierce role. I would give this series a 7/10 and give Choi Mu-jin a 10/10 ;D

Republic58 Jan 26 2022 3:09 am The fights (way too many) and elementary plot, as mysterious as Velcro, makes this series almost unwatchable. Basic, undeniable scientific fact: Men have 4 X the upper body strength as women so tiny girls beating numerous men up is comical.

The “misogyny” is having a girl rely on her tiny fists (and big knife) instead of intuition, brains, and serious chutzpah (which she had in droves!) That would have been a story worth the “Made in Korea” label. What a waste of exceptional talent, some of Korea’s best.

The ROK is a storyteller powerhouse that has won countless audiences with their steadfast commitment to excellence. If season 2 is in the works, please give these great actors, a worthy story, clever, great action (Korea’s forte) and loads of heart.

I love han so hee and ahn bo hyun together. I hope they get another drama together!! Both have similar auras and i feel like they would be amazing in another drama. SPOILER ALERT - the last ep was packed with emotions and the biggest heartbreak is pildo dying ;_; why did they have to kill him like that. they were just getting started…im sad for jiwoo, she literally lost everyone.

This drama looks well made because of the high production, cinematograpy and acting calibre. The storyline is too basic to make this drama special.

And yeah, a lone small woman winning a melee fight against a bunch of burly men is ridiculous. Misogyny or not (I'm a woman btw), if a plot relies on being illogical to make a stand for female empowerment, then it does not add to the cause at all.

She doesn’t have to be physically stronger to take down multiple or big men, and you would know that unless you knew how to fight (I’m a women who does kickboxing). It’s really annoying to see those comments commenting on the ”lack of realism” when they’re really just being internally misogynistic. Overall, glad they showed a strong female lead with determination and power. Other commentators should really question themselves.

Actually more than the story the acting was really amazing. I really appreciate Han soo hee's acting here. She has a superb acting. And also Park hee soon,he is a talented actor with a nice appearance. This is my first time watching a drama of park hee soon though,he is really cool. I hope to watch his works more. Ahn bo hyun too acts well here. I was really sad at the moment he was killed.I hope if he was not killed the drama would be more good Anyway ,this is one of the best action and thriller drama friends. I recommend this to all who love watching action and thriller series more and more. Saranghae !!!

But HSH is reaally on a different level from other new actress. Most of her project is incredible and her acting is outstanding. She really work hard. No question for PHS. Watch this for him. Anyway, worth it for 8eps. Maybe Pildo char can have more development if longer episode.

Aaa Dec 13 2021 1:30 am I watched enough Kdrama to now the end from the synopsis so it took me a while to start watching it. Spoiler btw. But I don’t regret watching it. Fighting scene are amazing, i always enjoy watching a girl kicking everyone asses, some say it’s not realistic, but come on, how many unrealistic movies/drama when a man does the same. But it’s still feels good. I particularly enjoyed it because of the relationship between Jo woo and Mu Jin, there are both very humans and also monsters. I think Mu Jim wanted her to kill him, he never underestimated her and often said thinks like “let her get her revenge”. Also I don’t think Jo woo is a better person than Mu Jim ( even if they show that with the support of one person she loved she could turn around, but same goes with Mu Jin). I enjoyed the grey area between good and bad. The director also made Extracurricular, its the same you end up rooting for people who are really not very good people but have reasons. Love it

And being a woman, didnt have an ego thats why she beat the other guys? And has anybody here watched Kill Bill? She was a wan too and took down alot of men coz she knew how to fight. What I don't like is the development of the MC that looks too fast. She even beat the champion in that underground martial art in a few months.

Rae21 Nov 18 2021 9:01 pm While the acting, choreography, and story are quite well down, I just found it so unrealistic when they made the lead female seem physically stronger than ALL of the men in the video. I honestly wanted to root for her but the more I watched, the more I cringed especially during scenes where she fights and destroys a group of men who are twice the size of her and probably wouldn't even flinch from one of her punches if we were actually living in reality here. But, that's just my opinion. The acting was great though and I'm a sucker for Ahn Bo Hyun.

S U P E R Nov 18 2021 9:21 am Really loved it. I love murder mysteries, thrillers, revenge, and action dramas. I really got attached to Choi Mujin, Park Hee Soon's acting was superb.

All characters have their own beliefs which reflected their actions, though they aren't always right or wrong, this made them more realistic. The Whole Cast was so good in acting, Do Gang-Jae, bro, you scared the shit out of me. Song Jiwoo, wow, just Wow.

Dramas like this have a rather cliche ending when it comes to who the killer is, because it would be too unrealistic if there was a major plot twist, but the unraveling was done so smoothly that up to the end, I kept denying it to myself hahahha

I hope there can be more dramas like this, this is really my taste. Props to the director and writer!!!!!

Not those typical handsome face but possessing some kind of charisma and male sexiness . Tae Ju was the only one stayed loyal to Mu Jin till the very end .. kinda upset to watch his death scene despite he is a “ villain “ in the drama . Anyway morale of this drama .. don’t ever fight with Ji Woo.. you will never win

Georgia Nov 01 2021 10:27 pm I never watched any Han So Hee series before this, since they're not my thing. But Han So Hee surprised me with her acting in this mini series. She' savage, badass woww. Her acting is superb. And the soundtrack is also brilliant. One thing that I don't like from this series is the bed scene, no need to be full body exposed like that. Even her agent already confirm that the scene been discussed beforehand, still they exposed her body too much.

The plot from the beginning to end was not disappointing, it was concise, every episode gave a hint about the background story, and you could suspect everybody. The actors who played Mujin and Jiwoo understood the assignment so well LOL, the connection between these 2 characters, the sadness and hope expectation from both sides. It's a breath-taking kdrama and I loved it.

High recommend 10/10

Acting: 10 (big shout-out to Park Hee Soon)

Plot: 10 (they didn't force a romance all the time, which wasn't necessary... the plot twist makes sense, compared to other dramas who just threw something random)

Production: 10 (the scenes were well made, from the fighting ones car crash, explosion and overall shoots...)

OST: 9 (it was great and matched the scenes, but nothing remarkable or something that caught my attention)

When Jiwoo shot the lights off in the ship, the gun she used wasn't the one officer's gun. She used the gun that Mujin gave her, the one he said he founded near the shore or something and said it was the weapon the murder used to kill her father.

According to Mujin, it was an officer's gun, and she saw Giho back then when her father was killed (through the door eye hole). So she suspected him, that's why Mujin said it was a cheap trick, because if he is the murder then the police will eventually find out.

It could get her caught because it could be fired by a cop, that's why the captain Giho checked all the guns, to see if a bullet was used. Also, someone could see her firing, it was very risk considering that most of the police officers were using body cams...

And when she suspected that gun will get her caught then how come it turns out to be someone elses when it waa her gun? And why was she afraifmd the gun will get her captured. Then mujin tells her its a cheap trick by captain giho..i didnt get why he said that. I didnt understand whole gun sequence. If someone can help i will be grateful. Thanks

Oct 29 2021 10:41 pm Through 1st two epis yet and i got a total ashin of north vibe , it looks like head gangster prolly killed dad like in ashin of north; kept her dipalidated super dirty room amongst men to get almost raped by them and doing house chores like ashin shoved inside pig stable and gets raped ; getting her trained; both having same revenge resolve and finally knowing the real killer and the same ensuing mayhem.

Han so hee did awesome job while looking so pretty and petite.

The acting of the casts are top notch, and I like that it is unlike the usual 16 episodes Kdrama format which can be too long and render a good story becoming boring at times.

However, starting from episode 2, I kept on thinking that this is the Korean version of Infernal Affairs.

Kimmy Oct 24 2021 5:07 am I jst finished the whole series and i am giving my honest opinion on this one. First of all i really liked the dedication Han So Hee gave to her role. U can see that she worked hard for the role. Idk how people in comments are judging her. In past Park Shin Hye also had fight kdrama role and she is also same and not muscly. However, i salute to the dedication Han So Hee gave. Second thing that i didn't like was the time for romance was too short which made it boring at the end. I was shocked to see what happen to Ahn Bo Hyun. I mean they jst started loving each other. Anyone could feel that Mujin and Ji-woo chemistry was better as couple cause they literally got fire story & more screen time. To be honest, Han So Hee and Ahn Bo Hyun would have made blasting chemistry if they were given more screentime romantically. Thats all. The storyline is not exaggerated at all by the way. Loved the actors, loved background music scores. I would definitely rate it 8/10. I'll cut 2 for not giving Ahn Bo Hyun and Han So Hee more screentime.

Man I can't believe what I just watched... I always had the feeling that MooJin was the murderer of JiWoo's appa, but in episode 5, when GangJae told MooJin that he captured Jiwoo, you can definitely saw fire in MooJin's eyes, even left his own car, left trace of himself and risked his life to save JiWoo........ I really don't get the final episode tho..... so many whys........... MooJin's death is unnecessary compared to the chemistry JiWoo and MooJin had... I agree with :') I thought they would have a better ending, having a father-daughter relationship and living in a beach house. JUST WHYYYY

I usually tend to predict what’s gonna happen in a drama. From ep one I knew it was MuJin who killed the dad. But bruh… killing PilDo really caught me off guard. I just thought she would go back on her word, escape again and kill Mujin but they really went there… *sigh* oh well. It’s a really good drama, I just watched all episodes in one sitting. The only thing that really threw me off it’s how the hell she didn’t know her dad’s real name and that he was a cop (even I called it) like really? If she was little then maybe but she was already in high school, how could she not know??

Plot is not that original for we seen so many movies with a story like this but what sets it apart is it was straight to the point no time for you to breathe. Actors are all great, having this major crush on the trio for their acting skills. This is way better than a series with 20 episodes that drags you out with the same plots.

Gabi Oct 19 2021 1:16 pm NO SPOILERS I did not expect to like this drama so much. Everything was very well done. The pacing is fast so you won't get bored. Our main leads are very good actors and the chemistry is insane (just don't go in this thinking it's a romance drama, romance is secondary in this). I usually get very bored with fight scenes but the cinematography and fight choreographies are very well done. For you all tiktokers who are crazy about mafia boss trope this is the drama for you.

SPOILERS Yoon Ji-Woo / Oh Hye-Jin Han So-Hee did an amazing job. Props to her for such amazing fight scenes. While I did enjoy her story in general, I feel like her character lacked a bit of a background story and personality. I love that she is a complete badass but there are consequences for her actions and choices. Many movies like that make the leads invincible to the damage and it makes them boring. However, she still felt more like a knife for the movie director. Slashing through gangsters with no feelings. I wished they would have explored more of her abilities, like sneaking up on people, planning attacks, maybe using poison/drugs or tricks learned from mafia/police instead of just using brute force. I would've loved to see her with her high school friends before everyone learned about her dad. Was she always fearless and headstrong or did her father's death change her. How she felt during her trainings. How traumatized she was after the kidnappings and roofies. The only times I got to knew her more is when she "unalived" Do Gang-Jae and later broke down and said she felt like she threw her life away for her dad and now it will be all for nothing if she can't end Choi Mu-Jin.

Choi Mu-Jin Dude was insanely good, what a great actor. Having said that, his whole plot could have fallen apart the minute she joined the narcotics squad. She could've learned about her dad being an undercover cop with single question (which she almost did, but was interrupted). However, I did like how you could tell his obsession with her was slowly growing with each episode, to the point where he went insane. And I loved that in the end they went against each other as equals. Props for a good portrayal of the contrast between his and her Police partner's and team's affection for her (chamomile tea, stab resistance vest and ect.).

Pil-Do Was the sex scene necessary? Was it? I feel like you could've just went with them being very good friends. It was forced and there was no chemistry. Also I did not understand why he trusted her so much when she gave him no reason.

The plot Welp I did enjoy the story, but some plot holes left me screaming at my screen. Like why the cameras were not a problem before the ambush and our Ji-Woo could meet up with Mu-Jin anytime they wanted? The fact that her identity was exposed with a very good timing for her and all at once. How they built up this tension on Japanese clients ant then completely dropped that story. How they built up the secretary's story and it amounted to nothing. Was she supposed to represent the industry's view on Mu-Jin? And the ending.. so abrupt. But all in all, great actors, cinematography, music and a decent story line. I enjoyed it very much.

Mujin said that dong hoon keeps on sneaking around to meet jiwoo so she probably wasnt aware that he is a gangster (UC) up until police keeps coming to his house as she said that it wasnt the first time police visits her to ask about her father.

Yes it was Ji woo she is dead it cant be Pildo because she visits Pildo's own grave after she visit her parents.

I am wondering about 2 things after watching this drama.

First, I feel that it's weird that Jiwoo doesn't know anything about his dad. Their relationships are pretty close, so I wonder how can she doesn't know about her dad's real name (SJS), or his dad's work (maybe her dad lied to her about being a police as well?)

I find it's very odd that her life/the story seems to begin just around 2016. How was her life when she was a kid? Her life doesn't start just when all the incident happens, right. So I feel lime it's kinda odd and something's missing. Or did I miss anything??

And the second, I'm wondering why there are 3 urns shown when Jiwoo visited her parents' grave? Whose does it belong to, Pildo? Or is it a symbol that Oh Jihye (or Jiwoo) is dead and she's ready to start a new life?

Can anyone help? Thanks!

I know the usual ending would be cliche (MJ being in jail and everyone else is alive and happy) but it's just so heartbreaking. Will Jiwoo can really live a happy life afterwards?

So pildo didnt actually died, he luckily survived that gun shot and Cha Giho ordered him to go undercover to solve a case. No one know abt it except both of them. And then a few years later, jiwoo and pildo will meet again and tadaa, done a happy ending for me :D Or ill actually just end it of at when they were going back to the police station. Idc if its a cliffhanger ending (i already adapted(?) with cliffhanger ending, just bcs of Vagabond, we waited for 2 years or more already i think and s2 is still not out bcs of covid) better than a sad ending. I dont get it rlly, whats the point of killing pildo? After all of the stuff that jiwoo has experienced, they still wont give her a happy ending #JusticeForJiwoo

No. Not really. "My Name" is something else. A Kdrama, that in many ways, is so much better than most of the movies or shows mentioned above. I can't really say for two of them though.

Action... Tragedy... Character development... More Action... Plot twists... betrayal... more betrayal... even more action... That Is "My Name" executed in a near perfect show.

Fight Club? No to mental illness. Infernal Affairs? I can't really say as I have not watched it. Anna? I liked the movie but would not watch it again. La Femme Nikita? My Name is close to that - the first half of the movie, sort of. Atomic Blonde? Bland and boring. Kill Bill? Distantly related of which I have no desire to watch ever again. Villainess? Have not watched that either - now on my list to watch along with.

Others want to say "John Wick". I love Keanu Reeves. He's beautiful. The first John Wick was the best. The second? Was 4/5th of the original in goodiness. By the third movie... I was getting tired.

My Name? Wow. Just simply, "Wow". I lost track of time and completely immersed myself in the show... all eight episodes. That's part of suspension of disbelief - where the unlikely not so unlikely to the viewer.

Plot 10/10 Action 10/10 Flawless if a little over the top. Romance - Not rated Supporting Cast - 10/10 Suspension Of Disbelief: 9.9/10 Happy Ending: That depends... Yes and No. Tragic really.

Han So-Hee - 20/10 I've watched her in Abyss where she was good. In My Name? Her acting is Above & Beyond that of her character in Abyss. Flawless in her execution and believability. A shining star. Han So-Hee establishes herself as a true action star. Her raw emotion shows throughout the show.

Ahn Bo Hyun delivers a fantastic performance. I don't seem to recall Ahn Bo Hyun in any Kdramas I've watched. If I have? I haven't realized it yet. Still, his performance is great.

Park Hee Soon - 20/10 This guy is Gangster through and throughout the show. His performance is superb. If I am ever to be killed by a gangster... I don't want Joe Pesci... I want Park Hee Soon to do the deed.

Special mention goes to Kim Sang Ho... love that guy. I don't know why... I just love his characters. He's that perfect supporting role that simply goes so far as to help make the show, any show, a great show.

My Name incorporates many Kdrama elements. Yet, does not go overboard as some Kdramas do. It is interesting how Kdrama shows constantly reuse the some form and elements, yet they all seem different. My Name is different as some elements are toned down on one hand; executed well enough on the other hand. For instance, one element that was practically non-existent was the romance. While the "childhood fate/destiny meet each other later in life and fall in love" element was non-existent.

!!!SP*0ILER ALERT!!!

As to why Pil-do was killed? Yoon Ji Woo said it in the end when facing off against Choi Moo Jin... when he asked Ji Woo, "can you become a...". That, and Choi Moon Jin needed Ji Woo to have conviction. By a cruel twist, he needed Ji Woo to have that conviction so he made it so.

Full of Thoughts Oct 16 2021 11:19 pm IMO (SPOILERS) - The beginning was great. It kept me hooked until I realized there had to be another person involved in Ji Woo's father's death. Mu Jin kills his enemy differently. The way Dung Hoon died wouldn't have been the way Mu Jin would've killed him. Mu Jin doesn't leave evidence behind so he wouldn't have used a gun. I feel like there was someone in Mu Jin's operation who didn't like the two and plotted a trap, or it could've been someone inside the police department who knew about the relationship and mission. Anyways, I think Ji Woo should've looked into it some more. Also, I was never funded by Tae Ju. I feel like he could've been the cause of betrayal for Mu Jin and that's why at the end he mentioned betrayal. Then again, that cop at the beginning who mentioned that the case was close to Ji Woo was suspicious too. I feel like there are a lot of people involved in the cause of Dung Hoon's death. I think everyone just pointed fingers at Mu Jin because he was big and a wanted suspect. I felt bad for Mu Jin. He protected her and made her into a fighter. He looked out for her. Yet, she believed he was the killer. However, the killer is still on the loose. If I was her, I'd regret killing Mu Jin. I get it that he isn't a good guy, but watching his character made my heartache because he definitely cherished his friendship with Dung Hoon. Please let me know if I am the only one who thought this. It bugs me to the core not being able to find anyone having a similar review as me. I just wish someone can tell me that I am not the only one who had wished that the ending could've been different.

One last thing, I didn't like how they added the romance scene at the end. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that Pildo and Jiwoo liked each other, but that scene was unnecessary IMO. Also, Pildo's death was so sad. Why kill him off like that? She finally has someone who she can lean onto. Anyways, this drama gave me a headache at the end, LOL.

The good thing about this drama was the actors. They did a phenomenal job. MuJin especially did a great job with his emotions. I enjoyed it because of his character.

Emotional action is really right definition for the drama. People say the story is cliché but the direction was wonderful and actors were more than expected. ( They really attract me with their charisma. The feelings you get from this drama is not cliché guys!!! I would say all people who worked for this drama were the best. Han So Hee do really really well in this series. From all of her drama, this one is the best. I am her fans from this starting points. Her acting skill is wonderful. Even if the ending give me heartbreak, it's okay, this drama is still the best for me. I prefer this more than the squid game for sure. Recommended to watch.
