Nanase (Tatsuya Ueda) runs a pawnshop in the Kabukicho area of Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. He is a genius appraiser able to distinguish fakes from originals. He gets pretty much everything at his pawnshop. When clients come to his shop, Nanase appraises their items and also tries to solve their worries.

It may take a few years for an actor’s unrestricted charisma to catch on with the viewing public. Doesn’t matter how fast these people shoot into the stratosphere, or how high they fly once they do.

"The important thing is that we’ll never forget what it was like to meet them first time on the screen and that there is this certain feeling that something’s missing when they’re no longer on screen." - These words can be reserved for KAT-TUN Tatsuya Ueda san. As Nanase san....There’s something definitely intimidating about making a drama debut as a title character that required a distinct blend of trauma and resilience. KAT-TUN Tatsuya Ueda san’s rapport with his director and stellar supporting cast showed that he could hold his own....very well , if I may say so. Being centre stage amidst such awesome actors like Mari Natsuki san ,Tomoya Nakamura san ,Maho Nonami san,Tetsushi Tanaka san and Kyusaku Shimada san would have given a much lesser actor "butterflies in the stomach".. That takes the confidence of a star. As Nanase san, there’s a cheeky playfulness that KAT-TUN Tatsuya Ueda san lets shine through without betraying the character’s troubled past. "Colors" literally returns to the screen when he arrives. By the way, did you catch me saying that I love this drama and its spectacular cast??? No? Then, I say it here and now - I love watching Shinjuku Seven...it has pace.This drama "Shinjuku Seven "is alive.
