Hayame Katsuragi (Fumi Nikaido) is an ordinary housewife, but her husband suddenly informs her that he wants a divorce. He tells her that he has another woman that he wants to be with. Hayame Katsuragi is stunned and just leaves her home. While outside, someone pickpockets her and that leaves her without any money. She is now like a homeless person. At that time, she meets a wealthy male high school student. He asks her to play a game. If she plays the game, he will provide a place for her to stay.

I don't get it. And then the last episode cat fight for 1 second, no sex scene and the dude has dice in his pockets?? Come on

The screenplay is rather predictable Everyone is going gaga over a short-haired girl with a manly hair do.. ha??!?

On the other hand: Sayuri Matsumura is here as a friendly co-worker and she is very pretty The evil geisha Kikuno is also thin and attractive The class-mates Momoka and Chisato are also sexy

And where is the father?

Draco Rattus Oct 22 2021 8:04 am I love jdrama romance, and this is one the best ones I have ever watched! The chemistry between Issei and Hayame is undeniable; I started off strongly disliking Issei as a character, but the way in which the series is written made me very sympathetic towards him at the end. The three lead actors - Maeda Gordon, Nikaido Fumi, and Iwata Takanori - do a brilliant job of weaving the story, and the series itself is colourful and fun, interspersed with moments of sadness and bittersweet emotion.

The visuals themselves are a treat too, especially if you have an interest in traditional Japanese clothing, architecture and culture.

Grandmalee Oct 14 2021 12:19 pm It's the kind of nonsense that convinces me once again it's not always a good idea to turn manga, no matter how popular it might be, into drama starring real actors instead of two-dimensional, drawn figures. The English title "Promise Cinderella" is vague on what it means or tries to say. The "glass shoes" association is only very poorly, and quite unnecessarily, reflected in the episodes. Fumi Nikaido, with her big eyes wide-open, portrays well a young woman who can't think straight or see her options clearly. Gordon Maeda has the looks of youthful immaturity to display his character's annoying behavior and in the later episodes, unbelievable ignorance (or innocence) about holding a girl's hand. Takanori Iwata is simply unconvincing in his performance. Mita Yoshiko plays a grandma who doesn't care about proper grand-parenting or management of the family business. There might be a mother somewhere who, with only 6 months (?) to live because of some terminal illness, decides to leave home and says, as she is stepping out the door, the cruelest thing ever to a young son, "I don't want you anymore." Katsumi Takahashi plays the character who is at once chauffeur, cook, house-keeping staff, etc., at a supposedly wealthy household. Rena Matsui's character has a lame excuse to come back to do bad things to everyone after plastic surgery ten years later. Takanori Iwata, not my favorite actor, turns out to be the only surprising delight in an otherwise dull, boring, forced story.

Did they complete it?? Because i reeaallly want moreeee , i like fumi and gordon's chemistry i want to see them together again doing my favorite manga ? I want more than 10 episodes .........................

mia Aug 07 2021 11:44 am i honestly love gordon and fumi’s chemistry, both are excellent actors!! the storyline is quite amusing as well. i haven’t read the manga so i’m not sure of the comparison but for now i’m really satisfied with this show, no disappointments yet. i’d recommend this!

Claudette May 09 2021 10:28 am To add more, in the manga, the female lead is an adult who doesn't act like a lovestruck teenager and who has gotten her act together. I dropped this manga for reasons I can't remember (might just not be that invested in the story anymore) but I did enjoyed the main couple's chemistry especially in the first few story arches.

The thing to highlight would be that the male lead is a minor so there may be many who are uncomfortable and that is perfectly reasonable. The chasing itself is basically done by the male lead lol. It is *very* unrequited XD

Claudette May 09 2021 10:05 am Oh wow, this manga is getting a drama! I never thought of the possibility. I kept forgetting that this manga is way more popular in Japan than overseas. The dynamic between the main couple is interesting since the female lead is a lot more older than the male lead. I'm interested in how the comedy will be translated in the drama.

And I wonder who is going to play the male lead (and the love rival) ;-)
