Ive always loved east asian shows from such a young age ; my love started the first time I watched Jackie chan's new police story (such a classic movie and Highly recommend u watch that if u havent).

Moving on , even in 2020 I strongly believe that this kdrama is one of the best created and in my top 10 kdramas of all time for sure. It started the kdrama addiction for me which i dont regret one bit and if it wasnt for this drama; I definitely would not be watching all these wonderful kdramas. Daebak!!!

Hi! school - love on; How can I forget the kdrama that got me to put all my high school friends on this kdrama wave back in 2015. Like at one point we were watching this show together; so this drama has a place in my heart forever. This the drama that gave me my online alias @kdrama 4life which is now been upgraded to Kpopandgrime. Looooool.

Anyways Hi! school - love on is Highly Recommended to kdrama lovers wherever u are. although , I dont remember some chunks of the drama I still recall loving the drama. Might have to rewatch the drama again next year for sure.

carlos Oct 19 2020 12:03 pm Started good but after the grandma figure died it went all down into the abyss, The FL got annoying with constantly telling us viewers that she liked the ML, the hateful love triangle we all know how it ends, i can understand the SL guy going down the path he didn`t want to go after being rejected by the FL and put in the friendzone plus knowing his stepmom was the mom of the guy the angel girl likes that would be enough for him to dump all of them, why would he be friends with the girl who rejected him? In real life that don`t happen, but of course the writers sugar coated this and everyone lives happily ever after, i can also see the elder angel being like that, after all she was his partner and after becoming human she abandoned him, plus what happened to the french guy? and that teacher going after the nurse never got a conclusion, and the director and writers are stupid in thinking that we can accept that bullies both guys and girls can change real quick into good people, go to a real high school and search on line for kids who committed suicide because of bullies, yep started good and then went the way of the dinosaur. p.s. it seems these dramas use the same scene over and over again , when the FL is about to use the crosswalk a car comes and almost hits her but she is pulled to safety by the ML.

abigailxxx Nov 03 2019 9:52 am so, i'm now currently watching it (in 2019) because of kim sae ron. i feel like watching a live-action version of some Japanese romance manga. high school students living together and so many tragedies happen at once, bullied heroine because liked by favourite guys. i describe it like it's really bad, but it's not! it's really good, actually beyond my expectation. i thought it'd be boring but it's actually more interesting than i thought. it's not some "relatable" high school drama you find, but it's still good. and the acting of 2 idols is great, i enjoy watching them. but maybe 20 episodes are quite long for me because it's actually not a complicated drama (like sageuk or crime/law/medical drama). but i still enjoy it because the leads are really doing a great job. love it

I dont care about their age gap because in the drama I saw only 18 yr old cute couple .Their love is so beautiful ,pure & hugs are very warm .I cant see any agegap here.I wish Woo hyun & Sae ron to reunite again for a drama .Sungyeol's acting was best.Its the best highschool drama for me.

Abusa Sep 21 2018 9:15 pm I absolutely loved this show, even though it's longer by 4 episodes from all the kdramas I've previously watched I couldn't get enough of it and after finishing episode 20 I wanted 20 more episodes. That characters and how they storylines interlink was beautifully done, I even liked Jea Suk in the end which is a miracle on its own. Loved how they all matured so much in the last episode, great kdrama 9/10.

Woohyun Seulbi fan May 19 2018 7:37 am This is the best kdrama that I've ever watch! But the problem being together with your first love is always impossible, AJH has no sympathy to find his real son, Jooah and Taeho should have better ending, Seulbi should have different first love not the main lead that makes the story predictable, Jaesuk should have suffer more in this drama and also Yena too. The thing that I like and love in this drama, Dayool became prettier, Woohyun was so loyal for Seulbi (yes, that's what I want), Byungwook became nicer (it would be better, he should make Jaeseok more suffered in almost final part for being bully), Kisoo for me is Woohyun's real best friend not Sungyeol, the human angel dude is wiser than I expected, Sungyeol was better actor in this drama (I saw him in Dday and Love returns, he can't act). I think Lee Sungyeol in kdrama roles should be in coldhearted, antipathetic, haughty, greedy and short tempered character especially in villain roles that makes him act well. I'm still bitter for Nam Woohyun didn't appeared in kdrama again and also Kim Youngjae too. It would better if Kim Saeron was Seulbi, she should be paired by the actors whose younger than Woohyun and Sungyeol or if Woohyun and Sungyeol was SWH and HSY, they should be paired by the actress older than Saeron.

lily Mar 19 2017 12:09 am I agree w/ Ozzie. I kinda liked the story at first but gets bored halfway. The plot is going back and fourth. Seul Bi stayed on WH's place and then went to Sungyeol's. Then she went back to Woo Hyun's. And went back on Sung Yeol's place again. At the end, she went to Woo Hyun's. She goes back and fourth and the reason? well, just because of some love interest. And her having a love triangle with them is a bit off.

The two central male characters are bored with constantly doing the same actions, the same faces, the same violence. Everything is fixed in episode 19 is brought from the hair. The script of the film was lost in the middle of the road. The actors must be chosen not because they are "cute", but because they know how to act and their performance is real. In this series everything is fictitious. It is made for teenagers who only look at faces and are not interested in values. It is never explained why the mother of the first character has no emotions when she finds her son, nor the son to her mother. The stepson behaves like a whimsical child. The father is ridiculous. The worst of all is Seoul Bi, not because she's fifteen, but because she plays the role of a silly angel, intelligent in school matters and stupid in everything else. She lacks freedom and depends on people in everything else: the opposite of an angel. The only reactions are when someone gets sick: the only thing that makes you move is the bed of a sick person! There are no other values. The teacher of ethics is a soulless woman and is the "vocational" counselor of the students! The other teachers seem insane. The best phrase in the series is "school is a prison". That school shown in this series is a real jail. Ozzie

I kinda dont like it cause my baby woohyun suffers a lot and the writer just made him wait again for seul bi to remember him. My baby was in so much pain already. But will still recommend to watch this story though its a heart touching story. And will surely make you cry from the middle up to the end of the show.

From the choding yeol turn into a cold man in this drama makes me feel so goosebumps. Also the chemistry between woohyun and saeron fit so perfectly eventho the age gap is long enough.

A teenager would never say such things. The writers could have done so much better. For the first time ever i was much more interested in every other characters story line than the leads.

Who cares about age differences when seulbi & woohyun really look cute together lol. The ending is also great. I love how woohyun & sungyeol became be a real family since I really shipped their bromance. This is one of my favorite school dramas after school 2015!

And I dont understand why some of you people here saying negative things about kim sae ron, she played her role beautifully, her attitude made was actually angelic, she really did seem like a naive angel who is trying to learn the human ways, and she is a freakin cute person, if she wasnt in the show, the show would have lost half of its charm. And the ending was very satisfying too, a positive one. Plus what makes this series so good was how it showed a teenagers struggle in love friendship and family..it was beautifully shows here...and seulbi woohyun loves was so pure and honest, thats a great example for all teens that even in hard times, you should be loyal and caring selflessly...this show was 10/10. I wish it had more episodes!

Part of the story was a bit repetitive but i like the fact that it deals with some real issues that kids have to deal with like bullying, divorce,death of family members, debt etc. The actors were very good. The lead actress might have been very young but she embodied her character really well. I'm glad they didn't do many kissing scenes considering her age. However, I found their love scenes cute. The lead actress's acting ability is mature for her age. Its difficult to imagine how an angel would be like since few people have seen one

Now let me talk about the drama itself. Kim Sae-Ron can't act [maybe because she lacks experience] The drama had a good story premise but very poorly dragged to a point where it got painful; and this was scripted with torturous dialogue that the characters personality were lost. Plus the side characters were so unbelievable. Though this might sound as a negative comment, I don't necessarily hate the drama. It's just that if anyone asks me recommend dramas, I wouldn't mention it. So if you still want to go ahead and watch the drama, I'll let you be the judge of it.

Over all crappy acting, but she is very pretty and since she is young, i just hope she grows up well so that the next time i watch her film, i wont be so annoyed. Kim So Hyun can play a better school girl than she can. I think this is mostly for promotion, but for me it's not really working. I love the drama, I like the plot and everything. But they really need to cast a better person. Also, don't say that age isn't a big deal. It is a big deal, it's disgusting it's like watching a 5 year old with a 20 year old. And, her saying "I'm Sorry. It's all my fault." It's her fault but she doesn't do anything about it. This DRAMA has a mix of emotions. i love each of their characters. They made me laugh,cry,happy,sad. they have their own sacrifice in each charters and what i love the most is the acceptance & the friendship.

So overall it worth watching :D

But I think they just dont want to be that easy to guess. Unfortunately, rather than making it more distinctive and unusual, it becomes a very common ending everyone loves, thus I'm upset. It lost the meaning of a value they brought from first to last; 'there exists a love that never changes'. I'm really surprised by the ending. It could mean deeper if only it ends just with that scene in the first 3 mins of the 1st eps. Loving wholeheartedly again without even remembering anything. Ah, it's just my kind of ending...

Well, those idols did well! Especially main role Woo Hyun. He acts really well and he has got the skill which only leads ever had : to make a role his' and no-one could ever replace.

Side love stories are the cutest ♥ Actually Taeho-Jooah and Jaesuk-Dayul couples are what made butterflies in my stomach. Without them, this ain't validated as a high-school drama! :)

I think it's better if they use stuffs like wings or shining circles above her head instead of a mark on the wrist. Bcs that's how we imagine a cheonsa to be. 1004 ;;)

More to tell, I don't like it when they use teenagers' tendency to act unwisely and emotionally so they don't have the burden to explain why these roles do this and that. I'd appreciate more if they emphasize the logical reason of whatever events... that scene when Sung Yeol wants to run away is the most unacceptable, as if they created his nonsense thought so the accident could happen -__-

But this is still wayyyy better than Who Are You - School 2015, so if you're really fond of high school dramas but you dont enjoy japanese ones (which people say the most promising for this genre), I offer you High School Love On.

Because of curiosity, I decided to watch this drama I already heard this one from a workmate but has no interest before. The first episode was quite boring and somehow the artists were awkward. But then, I was trying to dig my highschool experience and thought that the 2nd episode would be exciting which it was....

I'm currently watching episode 15. For me it is 8/10 for 2014 kdramas I have watched.

I get that this isn't reality but the supporting characters were so unbelievingly unrealistic that it got annoying when they would believe anything they were told like who actually just believes that someone has superpowers without any proof just because someone said so??

Woo Hyun and Sung Yeol had WAY too many fights and makeups, and they both acted undeniably and inexplainably irrational at certain points- more than once.

When I found out how old Kim Sae Ron (Seul Bi) really is, I freaked out because Woo Hyun and Sung Yeol are in their 20s and Sae-Ron was 14 when this was recorded, so thats just really creepy how they gave her this role... but I wondered why there was never any kissing (like couples usually do).

Several times, the show just got hideously annoying to watch because everything was just so horrendously predictable.

I almost forgot to mention how much I LOATHED how abusive Sung Yeol was and how irritating the fact that everything that came out of Seul Bi's mouth was "Woo Hyun this, Woo Hyun that".

And don't get me started on how EVERY SINGLE TIME Woo Hyun, Seul Bi and Sung Yeol were in the same area at once, they would just dramatically stare at eachother for an unnecessary amount of time then suddenly act like they don't know each other.

I am deeply underwhelmed by Hi School- Love On! but I will also admit that some things were actually really funny and interesting. The idea is creative but the execution of the plot was poor.

(And that bubblegum scene wasn't a real kiss, just sayin'.) And then I saw how young she actually was in real life, and understood that. And then I was like, 'Wait a minute, what about Sung Yeol, he didn't get a kiss scene either'. Hm. I honestly would have liked to have seen Sung Yeol have some type of a kiss scene. I'm disapointed, but I also understand that, to some extent. Some of Sung Yeol's Inspirit fans are known to be really aggressive stalker-types, so they probably would have immediately taken to twitter and started the hating process. Still. I want to see both Woo Hyun and Sung Yeol in more dramas, and in some movies, because their acting was fantastic in this. I'm not an expert on Infinite, but these two have amazing acting talent, that if anything happened to their singing careers (lets hope that doesn't happen), they could easily transition into becoming full-time actors without any issues. :) Also, I'm in international viewer. I'm definitely re-watching:) Even though Kim Sae Ron is young, her acting is awesome and her and Woohyun are now my favorite couple:) I'll really miss this drama and the cast!!

Out of curiosity, why did Woohyun and Sungyeol's names the same in the drama?

KC Jan 01 2015 6:25 am The angel-human plot is what attracted me to watch the drama. The first episode seems good but the conflicts between 2 lead actors and the parents sometimes are nonsense - why can't they just live together as a family? The conflicts between students are also childish. Kim Sae-Ron is acting too innocent and annoying sometimes. Why does she like to make face that she is cute?? I know she is good looking but she does not have to make that kind of face. That's why I think this drama is for young viewers.

acelysia Dec 30 2014 4:50 am I greatly love this drama until mid-episode.. right from there, Seulbi is so innocent that becomes annoying. Sungyeol becomes unnecessarily bad for too long. Some of the episodes is wasted, because it's seems repetitive and no development. Still, I really love Woohyun-Seulbi chemistry at the start. Their love story is simple and so high school. But at the end, the writer makes it too heavy and too dark.

So I binge watched the first few episodes but with each passing episode I lost interest. The unnecessary bullying..., the way the 2nd lead treated Seul Bi, the lack of rushing an explanation about WHY a mother would abandon her child and just... everything is highly repetitive for a good 10 episodes. Like I said, great start, not so great, but satisfactory ending... Don't even get me started on the Sunbae... whatever. Cause she needs 3 guys to be in love with her? Honestly the best romance was the Bromance between Woo Hyun and Sung Yeol, they even put in a few gay jokes. Just because. I've seen better and I've seen worse.

John Dec 19 2014 5:53 am Kim Sae -Ron is an excellent Korean Actress. She has been in a couple if Feature Films where she played the lead and did it very well before taking this part. I expect a lot from her in the future. She is a bit gawky and not your Classical Korean Beauty (she is still very pretty though), but that is part of her appeal. This Drama has holes and is a bit silly at times, but Sae-Ron makes it worth watching. I can't imagine any other young Korean actress doing as well in this role.

Sae Ron ofcoures is amazing - I wish her character would have stayed strong like it was from the beginning though. The show started out great but then eventually I just got tired of the constant bullying between the characters, and the sappiness between the 2 main characters along with the 2nd male lead stringing right along. This show is definitely more about the girl being human than an angel, which I personally find disappointing. 6.5 out of 10. The special effects are awesome though.

I really enjoyed the beginning and how original the story was. But now, due to the generic stubborn brattish behavior of Sung Yeol, just enduring and trying to watch one single episode has become a painful experience. Why are secondary characters so annoying? I know he's a high school kid, but why can't he take a clue that he is messing everyone's life. And to make matters worse, there in to only one annoying secondary male lead, there are TWO!! The other stubborn brat, Seul-Bi's former Sunbae... Are all secondary characters in Koran Dramas like this? Why do they think they can force the other person's feelings? Aigoo, I used to really enjoy this drama, but now I'm not sure if I will be able to see it to the end...

The actors have been putting much effort into this drama which deserves to be shown 2x per week. It is such a disappointment that it is only shown every Friday and to top it off, the last 2 episodes skipped a week each. This drama may lose its momentum and the followers like me may lose interest because of the constant disappointment. Whoever makes the executive decision on ensuring the success of this drama better step back, analyze and make haste to plan to bring back the disgruntled followers. This drama deserves better management and the actors deserve a chance to showcase their amazing talents. Please don't waste their efforts.

omg i watched episode 8 yesterday night and I was crying my EYEBALLS OUT when Grandma died and sungyeol's news of his mom getting married and when he hugged Seulbi, and when Grandma was in ghost form talking to Woohyun. I just kept crying and crying again. This drama is similar to "49 Days" except I don't think this drama with have a sad ending.....at least I hope not. "My love from the stars" had a plot twist sooo im hoping with my fingers crossed that this drama with have a plot twist as well. ^^ I shall await for the next episode with an ANXIOUS HEART >u<

The story has this cute, sweet, lively and innocent vibe. Apart from this, having a very young lead brought much the natural feeling of innocence which i think an advantage than having those 20's girls pretending to be teen. As to skinship i won't expect much since she's still a minor a peck on the cheek, hand holding or a hug may suffice. I'm more on the interaction and experiences of the characters. The story will undoubtedly revolve around young innocent love. once a week..why ohh.. why?

I was so excited to watch it urgh they should DEFINITELY make more tv shows about high school so we can watch the others while one isn't airing urgh can't wait :( at least give two episodes next week and make us happy :(

So when you put two members 9f my bias group, that's the best. Long story short I LOVE THE IDEA of having those two in one drama!!

inspirit Jul 12 2014 11:48 pm im an inspirit and im so looking forward to this drama. but i didnt expect much since woohyun and sungyeol are still rookie actors. i was worried that they'll get bashed with their acting skills. but after watching the 1st ep, i was so hooked and i didnt find their acting awkward at all. and the age gap isn't that obvious. plus they're in high school. they suit the look. im so looking forward watching the entire drama. ill be depressed when either woohyun and sungyeol gets broken hearted though hahaha

I know that the hot topic is the age difference between the two leads but everyone has to remember that a "love scene" or "romance" in a high school themed Korean drama consists of hand holding and a quick kiss to a cheek....so I think it's ok, oh and the whole Korean age difference too.
