Chun Sung-Woon (Kim Heung-Soo) is the director of a large fashion company. He meets a single mother, Han A-Reum (Shin So-Yul), and becomes attracted to her. Due to Han A-Reum and her daughter, Chun Sung-Woon changes as a person.

Park Min May 12 2023 10:32 pm The usual makjang drama nothing new nothing special. You stick around to watch them go mental and laugh at the absurdity. However, this one got a really unlikable male lead. The guy feels so out of place and had zero chemistry with anyone around him even himself. On the other hand, Shin So Yool was the female lead, she always caught my attention playing support roles so it was nice seeing her as the lead. She did good. The drama lacked a consistent plot line, even the main one was scattered and mostly felt as if there were no persistent goal and antagonist. At the same time, too many side plots ended up being underdeveloped and neglected later on, like the delusional FL's father one.

elliez Chadwick Mar 08 2016 6:36 am great n love the storyline. at first I feel really hard to watch it because of the main actor & actress is unpopular and too many episode. but after watch first two episodes , I really attached to this drama. it is adorable when seongun keep hating areum but in the same time he finds areum is pitiful. if you like this type of drama I would like to recommend you to "wish you upon the star/stars falling from the sky"

Not_recommended Dec 08 2015 6:27 am I know korean dramas are all pretty predictable. It's usually about a weak heroine, a good guy and a bad guy. Yep this drama was the same as always only with an extra baby.

Lani Obispo Nov 30 2015 1:18 pm Love and Secret is a very interesting, romance, dramatic, family oriented drama.

All the actors were good most especially Shin So-Yul and Kim Heung-Soo. The actress and actor who portrayed as Shin's parents were very versatile.

I like this drama and I couldn't wait to finish it to see the ending. I had to sleep very late ever since I've started watching it and I cried with Shin too. I love and enjoy watching it.

Irene Oct 12 2015 12:44 am To be fair, the drama does a good job of presenting the difficulties a family faces when someone from a conservative culture has a child out of wedlock and also when one member has dementia. The actress playing Areum's mum does a great job of acting someone with dementia. I thought her acting was very convincing,

I also liked the fact that the baby was given a fairly prominent role (appeared often using the same baby (at least till the episode I'm watching - 68). Some dramas use various babies interchangeably, which isn't as satisfying. We can actually see this baby grow and develop, which makes this story more real.

Irene Oct 12 2015 12:33 am The heroine in this drama has been been given such a poor personality, it was awfully painful to watch. She is weak, immature, is passive aggressive, doesn't seem to be able to think or speak intelligently, and is unable to stand up for herself. She has this false sense of others being right when they are clearly wrong, and is dishonest and always hiding the truth, in the name of being considerate to someone else, when its clearly not. It is unclear why the male leads would fall for such a person, or what they find attractive in her. Even her enemies are more likeable. This is NOT the fault of the actress, but the writer really. The male lead is wonderful, and the person playing Areum's father, also saves the day.

I suspect the writers needed to extend the script, and in trying to do so, sacrificed the heroine, by making her weak and indecisive, but its really a torture to watch this drama. The only reason I would complete it is because I'm obsessive about finishing up things I start, but there are days I get so upset watching this drama, I have to walk away and do something else.

I gave it 2 stars for the poor writing.

Star - enlighten me for a bit - what are mexican telenovelas? Did you watch today's love and secret? Aren't you glad the writers let Areum slap Philip in the face:) I was like "whoa! and was like "about time!". Please let this drama end and dont leave anyone hanging :) have a good sunday to all !

But let me ask you this - don't you think the Korean writers should let the actors/actresses cuss in the show? I know it's unheard of, but sometimes when i'm watching the show i wish they would lash out at each other (some of the time) - don't you agree? Kimberly Mar 24 2015 2:30 pm hey! and a hello to star :) thank you for answering my question about how many episodes this long running drama will have. What i think about the show? Well - it's certainly peaked my interest most definitely - i hope it will end happily and not leave anything "hanging" if you know what i mean. As far as the lead couple - well i hope Areum and the the director do get married - but i think with the trial date, whether Philip and Suji get caught and go to prison (for the rest of their lives - Ha!, Areum's mom getting better (when i mean better her dementia being gone for good etc..) all these things might throw a monkey-wrench into the series. That's what i think - do you agree?

Rose Mar 21 2015 2:05 am pat --- Since Wednesday through Friday so far, March 20, KBS has not run any of their dramas/reality shows, etc. It seems like there is news, news and more news, and other programs. I don't know what is going on. Some were government shows. Maybe by Monday??? everything will be back to normal, I hope.

It's so obvious that Seougun doesn't love her at all and she still barged in but I really pity Aruem for all the mistreats and seriously tho Phillip's wife is very ugly. Her face is so weird :/ and why did they change Seougun's hairstyle I think he looks way better in episodes 1-38 :/ this drama is really a lil insensitive but I don't know why I kept waiting for the next episode

They feel nothing to what is being said then they set out to destroy the woman her man loves instead of be a real woman and accept NO>.....what is so hard about that. It's so sickening watching these women become a pathetic loser just because they are not looking at the reality of the situation. So, sick and so stoopied...

AND she'll be a top notch fashion designer with no formal training who will be sabotaged every step of the way by his mother, his ex, etc. etc. etc. AND there will be one or two filler side stories going on that will be forgettable and pointless. AND there will be numerous scenes where he hugs her with her limp arms at her sides. AND she'll take all abuse with a whimper and long suffering silence. AND . . .
