Do-Hee (Kim Sae-Ron) experiences family violence. Young-Nam (Bae Doo-Na) works as the head of police substation. She tries to protect Do-Hee from her violent stepfather Yong-Ha (Song Sae-Byeok). Though Do-Hee looks naive, she hides a secret. Young-Nam becomes involved in a case with her life at stake.

Jung Ah Jung Jul 26 2025 8:14 am I liked this movie. Bae Doona is in School 1 (on Kocowa). After seeing that I wanted to see more of her. It's painful now to see anything with Kim Sae Ron. I am missing her so much!! This is on Prime. The audio and subtitles aren't synchronized at all. You just have to go with it.

very disturbing movie? Yes agree. But the girl somehow just want to live a new life. Although her approach was totally incorrect. I dont think i can blame her though. She was on tough situation, what can you do?

The police woman has a clear view of whats happening but not sure what she decided in the end. But should she abandone the kid and move on? Or take the kid with her and start to teach the correct ways?

Though we do not like the ending, this is reality everyone. They manage to show that in this movie.

It touches on a number of subjects such as homophobia, child abuse, police corruption, LGBT relationships, illegal immigration, alcoholism, and to an extent even child-predators (?) As you can see it touches on a lot of things, but because of that the movie was not able to delve into these things with great depth. It all felt very surface-level. So despite the fact that the movie touches on these serious and sensitive topics, which would typically be very heart-wrenching and emotional, I felt that this movie didn't really provoke strong feelings from me.

SPOILER* At the end of the movie, it is implied that Do-Hee was the one who caused the death of her grandmother. She had also framed her father for sexual abuse in order to get Young-Nam out of prison. Not long after this, the movie ends. I feel like there was no sense of closure. Definitely a disturbing piece and really makes you think about morality.

If you're looking for a movie with a happy and resolute ending, this is not the one.
