Story is set in Daegu, South Korea during the 1970's. Lee Jung-Hee is in the 2nd grade of high school. She has a bright personality and is the second daughter of a family who runs a underwear factory. She and her friends go through adolescence.

She needs to get casted for more movies and dramas, especially ones like this. She plays the role of the young, passionate girls well. The drama is great and the ending is very heartwarming. The music suits my taste so much I love it.

Sun Sep 28 2017 7:10 pm Half the main characters seem to progressively get worse throughout the drama... Young Choon started calm and attractive but now he seems to have a bad temper on everyone. Dong Moon was fine before he started to stalk Jung Hee even when she tells him to back off. Hye Joo is smart enough to be able to help herself in most things but, no? The characters I disliked and begin to like more now are just Jung Hee and Son Jin, while Ae Sook has always been okay to me.

And how it potrays hae joo such as almost perfect pretty girl but actually she's weak like how can she always run to young choon whenever she need help. I just can't understand her crush towards young choon. I don't get mad anymore with Son Jin though he's still such a bad guy because he seems to play with a girl's heart but it's understandable as for me.

The love story between Lee jung hee and Bae dong moon is most interesting, i like it. funny and very sweet. Kanja Sep 13 2017 1:34 am When I first heard about Girls' Generation 1979 I thought it would be some sort of a spin off from Reply series which it still gives me vibes of, It looks really good & I love the cast selections. Especially Bona, Min Do hee, Lee Jonghyun, & Yeo Hoihyeon. The Busan dialect also attracts me so much too so I know I will enjoy this drama so much...but 8 episodes sound too short, wish it could be like 20 episodes. ^^

I could still remember her stiff acting in The Best Hit and her character was just unnecessary, so it's good that she'll get rid of that image and come out new. On the other hand, I really like Chae Seo Jin. She gives off that natural vibe (appearance and acting wise). I'm anticipating to see how she does for her first drama.

Bravo Aug 18 2017 7:43 pm KBS what r u doing, seriously @jessica is right, this year is idols' generation with a bunch of A-Lister actors going out in the army, but still we have song jae rim, choi jin hyuk, lee won gyun, yoon kyun sang and a bunch of REAL actors but what!? They prioritize on casting these idols. To the people say that we shouldn't judge LJH acting and we should watch him before, it's obviously that our judgement was based on his past performance, OM and MOLS. He is boring and there are times when you will cringe to his acting, sometimes it is like he's asking help on how to deliver the lines. From how many times are we gonna give him a chance!? Idk it is just my opinion. PLUS the writer and director on this one is the tandem of the very bad cringeworthy drama Ms. Perfect (lol) but then you'll get surprised at how many people will praised this because it's the truth, fans are overshadowed by their love for amazing idol actor perfect oppa rather than the real performance and storyline. K bye...

AYHT originally set to air after School 2017, but not sure..for some reasons they delayed the airing probably after this series.

Sun Aug 17 2017 7:00 am Guess there's a reason why they're only looking for idols mainly, I doubt actors would accept a short 8 eps drama with scriptwriter who isn't very top notch. (Maybe this should've been a webdrama even). Some idols trained acting like how some actors trained singing. Still though, I'd hope Jonghyun has improved since Orange Marmalade, and I can't judge Bona as an actress yet since she, in most part, just acted as herself in The Best Hit, but it looks like she does have a potential. So let's just give them a break and see how they go first, judge after. Let people enjoy things.

He was so good in Orange Marmalade which was quite an annoying drama but because he shone so bright it was hard to stop watching! That's how good he is. And don't even get me started on how amazing he was in the quirky and cute "My Only Love Song"! So glad he's been offered and he's accepted the role!! Will be looking forward to this!!

Bona is offered as the main character. Oh yess! I like her after watching "The best hit", she is pretty, smart dancing and also sexy, her role in the previous drama is sad. She is not invented with Kim Min jae, lol. And for this time I hope the love story ends happily. She got the lead actress she was very lucky, I hope her acting will make me love her more and better. Please accept Bona yaa :)
