Plot

Joo Ah-Ran and Shin Hyun-Woo have an elaborate wedding at a luxurious hotel. Shin Hyun-Woo sincerely lovs Joo Ah-Ran, but Joo Ah-Ran has ulterior motives for the marriage. Joo Ah-Rans family was destroyed by Shin Hyun-Woo's parents and, because of this, she is marrying Shin Hyun-Woo in a secret plan to exact revenge.

Sometime after their marriage, Shin Hyun-Woo is involved in a horrible car accident, leaving him in a coma. Once Shin Hyun-Woo awakes from his coma he learns of Joo Ah-Ran's revenge plot and then sets out on his own path for revenge....

Notes

"Temptation of an Angel" is the sequel to the 2008 SBS series "Temptation of Wife". Although the characters will be different, "Temptation of an Angel" will share a similar revenge theme as the first series.

She is a selfish coniving nimcompoop. Remember how wjen SHW was in coma she pushed his wheelchair down a slope and let him fall and hit his head? That a victim? In your universe maybe. Whenever i see her on svreen i hope she would die coz she is just too awful and selfish. I dont feel an ounce of pity for her. She just wants everyone to be as miserqble as her. Selfish much.

You must have forgotten how after she learnt the avcident killed the other driver, her thought was ONLY on herself and how she cannot stop her revenge. Really? That is a victim? Not to memtion she made use of all those men by lying - president hwang, president jang, even the designer whose designs she masqueraded as her own. Victim? Right...

Park Min Jan 14 2023 9:24 pm Despite seeing the ending coming, I still had some hope it would end differently. The drama had potentials to be a good revenge story for the synopsis it had but how everything played out was purely comical. I guess that's what they were aiming for. Too bad because I liked the cast.

J May 30 2013 2:07 am I didn’t like this drama until the end. It was somewhat boring and the story made little sense as there were several mistakes made in the process of writing/filming. Did anyone else catch them?

Summary:

JAR, a victim, decides to take matters into her own hands when the justice system failed to uncover that the murder of her parents was disguised as an accident. Although the series begins with her being the “bad guy” a keen, logical eye will pick up on the fact that she is being manipulated and victimized repeatedly by the same horrible family.

SHW plots revenge without a cause, which basically means he was a throwing a super-sized temper tantrum, after a genuine accident slowly develops into something else. Had SHW been a semi-decent, remotely logical person he would have wanted to find out the reason behind the events that unfolded. In the end he learns that every path he took was wrong and he was one who triggered the downfall of his own family. His stupidity and lack of empathy causes him to lose four important people in life.

YJH is a disloyal person who betrays her own family to join the ranks of the enemy. She learns a hard lesson about what family really means when she loses the last bit of family she had through her own actions.

NJS is a man out for revenged, having been betrayed by the same person repeatedly. Along the way he accidently falls in love with JAR whom he pulls into his schemes. In the end his obsession causes the failure of the plan and loss of loved ones.

Jennifer Jul 16 2011 7:57 pm I loved this movie. I just watched it all today. Shorter than usual dramas,but the plot was GREAT and the ending was very sad. I am sort of sad that Jae-hee didn't couple with Shin Hyun Woo though :(. I felt bad for Ah-ran even though she was evil,she cared for her sister alot. And her suicide was slow because it was paused when she fell half way,but was heartwarming and she realized her mistakes. I love it,favorite movie now :D.
