Fredrico Feb 19 2015 12:33 am I heard Muroga's next film will be shot in Austin, Texas, That would be the 2nd time he has filmed there. Around 2001, he did a low-budget "film festival" project there on HD video, but the dialog was awkwardly focused on a Japanese audience. As a result, the American actors seemed to only serve as card-board cutouts, to somehow help substantiate some claim to the term "international film". However, Muroga's film directing techniques have improved greatly since then, as proven by the film Wangan Midnight. I don't know why he doesn't show a credit for Super Cub. It would be nice if he posted some of his festival entries on YouTube, etc. There's more to film-making than cinemas and DVDs.

Austin Joseph Jan 06 2010 2:41 am One film of his that isn't here is called The Ground. The film was obviously filmed in Cambodia and was probably one of Atsushi Muroga's early films. It was quite low budget but what struck me as fascinating was the real life background of Cambodia circa 1998. I think that was the year Hun Sen took the country in a bloody coup. The film's worth watching if not for just the novelty of seeing what Cambodia was like before "Invasion Of The Backpackers". Scenes that appeared to use real landmines exploding really woke me up to the horrible threat landmines pose for men, women, and children just trying to walk around and have a happy life. Ka-Boom!!!
