Cheon Yeo-Ri (Park Eun-Bin) is a chaebol heiress and hotel owner. She appears flawless on the outside, but, behind that, she holds an eerie secret. Her secret is that she sees ghosts.

Ma Gang-Uk (Yang Se-Jong) is an ace prosecutor with excellent physique, brilliant mind and righteous personality. He always obeys his principles and never backs down in the face of injustice. Cheon Yeo-Ri and Ma Gang-Uk form a unique and unexpected relationship through a strange encounter that follows accidentally and inevitably. They cooperate to solve cases by using their respective abilities. Their relationship also develops.

Rantyardi Hill Jul 27 2026 4:41 am From 4 episodes honestly it's a little bit slow, but becoming better and better show. So far so good and outstanding Kdrama in the last 3 years. But in my opinion the TvN strategy is false, when I saw this drama it's look like Park Eun Bin carry-on the show, Female Lead so strong and dominate the scenes more than ML: Se-Jong and this a mistake in terms of title. It shouldn't name Spooky In Love but better Yeo-Ri see Ghost or something like that. It seems to me that TvN want to copied Extraordinary Attorney Woo so they hire Park Eun Bin to reach the rating and popularity. But it's a wrong strategy, it's seem look like a Queen Of Years but in that show none domination for one person, it means Kim So Hyun and Kim JiWon carry on the show together. That's why the rating for Spooky In Love still one digit only, although the marketing and promotion of this drama began one month earlier. I guess this drama will get better and better rating incrementally, maybe 15-17%, but cannot higher than 20% like other TvN drama such as Reply 1988, CLOY, QoT. It just a shame.

Aozora Jul 26 2026 4:46 am Just finished watching The East Palace earlier and the recommendation showed Spooky in Love. So, I clicked it today. To be honest, I am a bit in Kdrama fatigue. But, the cast said it has Park Eun-bin, so I clicked.

And, to be honest, so far at Ep. 4 it does not disappoint. Honestly, the story and plot are not important in this series.

The thing about Park Eun-bin is she is just an amazing actor with her facial expression which all seems natural. She reminds me when Ye-eun of Wonder Girls made those facial expressions (have to google her name).

This series is entertaining due to the funny moments which are many in slow motion. Kudos to the team behind it, and especially Park Eun-bin.

Watch this for light entertainment. It will not disappoint.

Lonebe Jul 26 2026 1:40 am ‎I addressing to Jellibean. You're always mention Spellbound not the same with Spooky In Love because of the writer and the Lead characters. Well this drama is not Spellbound but Spooky in Love that based on the original movie. Where do we get the similarities? Memorable Scenes! (the FL curse seeing a ghost, She slept in the tenth, She's helping the ghost, No man can close to her because of the ghost, the ghost boy follow the ML to his house and haunted him, the ghost boy hanging on the back and shoulder, etc) . It doesn't make sense if you put the movie Spellbound with 2 hours duration into drama that cost 12 hours of duration. So the writer need an adjustment, changed the main characters with Chaebol Heirs and Prosecutor instead the original one Magician and the assistant/poor lady, the original one the FL get curse because of her friend died and blames her as the cause of her dead, so Son Ye Jin curse can see the ghost, and the man that like her will haunted by the friend ghost, the original one she make a "friend phone" and her families in Norway, but in this drama none of them, I think because of the adjustment needed for plot and scenario for 12 episodes duration. Yes different writer but you never look the team inside, Hwang In-Ho the original writer and the movie director now is the PD of this drama. So if you just want the drama look a like 100% with the movie version, and you very like those version, then watch the movie again in again tho, it's mean this drama either not your cup of tea or you just trolling around.

Jillibean Jul 25 2026 10:40 am I never once mentioned Hotel Del Luna, I brought up Spellbound, the 2011 film with Ye Jin Son and Min Ki Lee. On this very page it states Spooky In Love was based on Spellbound. But the only thing it has in common with that magnificent film is the ghost theme. In Spellbound Ye Jin Son's character is poor. In Spooky In Love Park Eun Bin is a rich chaebol. The film and the drama both have different writers. So they really aren't the same stories at all. Weird.

It's norhing to do with hotel del luna but it's matter for spellbound/chilling romance not for the writer but the producer hwang in ho that the director and writer for chilling romace. Many scene relate from the movie but with adjust. I don't thing the producer send scenario to kim soo hyun for hotel deluna. From the press con. Park Eun Bin the only artist that suitable for cheon yeo ri role. If UI boost about the same swcretart, clothes, can see ghost. It just a templates forKdrama since early 2000. Nothing to do with hotelde luna as a trendsetter. I agree with other comments below this new for chaebol heir and prosecutor volaboration in Kdrama. UI Jul 25 2026 1:11 am I agree with jillibean, it’s pretty much a knockoff of Hotel del Luna. Both are TV dramas featuring a wealthy female lead who owns a hotel, and BOTH female leads can see ghosts. Both male leads wear suits all the time, too. Additionally, both female leads have secretaries, and both dramas aired on tvN on weekends at 9 PM. It can’t be a coincidence. Even crazier, both dramas were released in July. So, exactly seven years ago, at the same time this drama aired, if you had turned on your TV to the tvN network, you would have seen Hotel del Luna instead. In fact, if Kim Soo-hyun hadn't had scheduling issues, he might have been the male lead in this current drama, and the title could have officially been Hotel del Luna Season 2.

The character played by Park Eun-bin isn’t your typical CHAEBOL HEIR, she’s a much more complex character with different facets that she masterfully brings to life. In Spooky in Love, she shows once again her skill: effortlessly shifting from the detached elegance of a chaebol heir to the vulnerability of someone haunted by ghosts, and even to the lighter, more romantic moments. She’s amazing at making a character believable who has to be strong, fragile, and a little 'quirky' at the same time.

GojoSaturo Jul 22 2026 10:32 pm I think this drama is good it has many reference of korean dramas which was recently released and a bit of archives ones. But for me it has this unique thing where in it doesn't really copy those references. The leads are actually fit for their roles although for the female lead we can say IU is the perfect Chaebol role due to her aura and her beauty, Yoona, Kim Sejong, and Suzy too. But I think Park Eun Bin is the second to do it. I can say this early that Park Eun Bin might be the next IU not to compare not to brag but by drama selection and role immersion. As for Yang Se Jong I think he chooses his role very carefully all the drama he was is spot on. The casting here is good too. Nothing much really to say but at this early time I can say this drama has the hook, the cast and the production.

Phil Jul 22 2026 1:07 pm This drama became my favorite series to watch, within very few minutes into the drama. The female lead is very elegant as a chaebol heiress. The way she carries herself is beautiful to watch. The male lead is plain and simple. He's shown as someone who is fearful of ghosts. He will become adapted to the female lead and her spooky world in no time. So far the graphics are soft despite being a ghost theme. I hope they will keep that element less and under check. The golf player is such a snob. He's good at doing antagonist roles.

Hotel de Luna was hard to watch because the female lead was such a narcissist and full of herself. Always rude to the people around. Please don't compare her to this drama female lead who seems to be a kind person. Don't put mean comments please.

Rudi Jul 20 2026 11:24 pm Spellbound/Chill Romance:Movie, completely different from Spooky In Live, only the red line still the same, curse girl with a ghost helping them solve the ghost problems. I realized it's huge difference because of the drama version will took 12 episodes, so they put some crimes investigation such as CSI, so the main lead characters totally different from Son Ye Jin and Lee Min Ki which are the magician and his assistance. In this drama format I think the writer want to explore more realistic characters from movie that a strongly fantasy in to a reality. Chaebol princess and a prosecutor collaboration I think a new combination in Kdrama history. Some memorable scenes from Chilling Romance not gone but modified and adjust because of new characters. A little bit slow in the beginning but I think it's getting better and better and this will be a good show. So if it's different from the movie format, it's totally different from hotel del Luna, if many comments said that it the same with hotel luna and better watching the hotel, and they boost drop after episode 1, it's a troll I think. Just because two dramas share a couple of elements doesn't mean one is copying the other. ALSO, this drama is supposedly based on the movie Spellbound, but honestly, it feels nothing like the movie. The story, characters, and overall vibe are completely different. It feels like a completely different drama rather than an adaptation of Spellbound. But it's still fun to watch.

I checked the writers listed for both the film and the drama and I wasn't surprised to see they are two different writers. First of all Ye Jin Son's character is completely different from Park Eun Bin's, far more vulnerable, and poor, not rich. Ye Jin Son's character has friends who keep in touch with her on the phone and a loving family although they are in a different country because all the threatening ghosts could kill them. Definitely check out the film version if you've never seen it. It is so beautiful and unforgettable.

Leigh Jul 20 2026 4:57 am don’t get fooled, this is NOTHING like hotel de luna. It’s funnier, lighter, and has more romance (imo). They don’t focus so much on the ghosts cases (WHICH I LOVE) they are more focused on get it done and just continue with the silliness. It’s so, so chaotic and extremely cliche but I was kind of missing this from kdramas… I can’t wait for more!

In Spooky in Love, she’s showing this ability once again: she effortlessly moves from the detached elegance of a chaebol heiress to the vulnerability of someone haunted by ghosts, all the way to the lighter, more romantic moments.
