An unprecedented incident occurs during a live TV broadcast when a human suddenly expands and explodes. The culprit is the Human Vapor, who can freely transform his body into vapor and pass through any obstacle. The Human Vapor warns of a series of murders, plunging society into fear.

Notes

"Human Vapor" is a reboot of 1960 film "The Human Vapor" that was produced and released by Toho. The drama series version is scripted by South Koreans Yeon Sang-Ho & Ryoo Yong-Jae and directed by Japanese director Shinzo Katayama.

just a random person Jul 05 2026 1:13 pm I have been waiting for human vapor to come out ever since i watched its trailer on netflix! I didn't know why but the trailer really piqued my interest. Since i hardly watch any jdramas, i don't recognize any of the actors here, but damnnnn turns out their acting are superb especially the lead actors shun oguri and yu aoi. As for the story itself, a very good crime thriller i'd say. It's not a kind of thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat for every episode, but it doesn't mean that the story is lacking in some way. It's just that it incorporates a very emotional background to the story!

Wisaho Jul 05 2026 5:36 am One of the best J-dramas of 2026. Yu Aoi nailed her best performance in the scene of Kyoko crying when she bows together with Ren oji-chan aka human vapor. I was moved to tears - her acting adds warmth and depth to the emotional side of the series. Shun Oguri's understated acting keeps the whole story grounded and especially in the challenging yet convincing final scene when he felt Kyoko's return as a vapor. UTA's breakthrough performance had him beautifully portrayed an eerie character with a tragic past. All in all, the chemistry among the three leads is the bjggest strength of this series.
