i just finished Yumi's Cell season 1 and 2, because long ago i tried to wait till Yumi's Cell ended but then forgotted to watch.

this story was beautifully portrait, i love all character, all animation, and all dubber. they all serve good drama.

i cant wait for season 3 too, hope it will be good drama right?

Woongi and Yumi..i feel they better couple than with Yoo Babi..idk i feel fall in love with Woongi character too haha...

If Woong can better express his feeling and not hold it just for his self esteem, i think Yumi will definitely anchor her love just for Woong, and i feel Yumi can wait for him gain his prime time. but back to the story, Woong can fight from slump because heartbroken so that happy ending for Woong too.

and about Yoo Babi, i heard that in webcomic version, its worse version that drama version. But even in drama, Babi had rumbling when Daeun confess to him, that micro cheating. if Babi really think Daeun nothing for him, that rumbling(earthquake in Cell Village' Yoo Babi)never exist. So i feel Woong better than Babi.

Momo Jun 14 2025 1:57 am Watching season 1 again, woong never actually cheated on yumi. His only fault was not being able to tell yumi that the only reason he couldn't marry her was because of his financial status. Yumi had always been insecure instead of trying to understand from woong's perspective, she blindly followed her was emotions. Actually, i didn't like babi one bit but he grew on me ,though. His full on behaviour had me thinking that he was only holding back in season 1 because of woong. The writers just make yumi a sort of easy girl no matter how much they try to portray her has difficult to access her heart, she in one season had loved three guys . She only forgets her crush after finding another one , it's just annoying how she had a crush on chae ugi and was fighting ruby for attention. Again,she had been the only one worried about an opposition whereas woong accepted babi and did not care about the fact that saeyi love liked him (she being his long time crush) but focused on yumi as the one he loves Funny enough, control z wondered what was about yumi and the guys' attraction to her. I feel they she is the only problem in her love life ,because as for woong , it is embarrassing to be seriously broke and at the brink of bankruptcy and still depend on ur girlfriend not even wife and then crave for marriage. And as for babi, relationship needs communication and she should have at least given him a chance to explain himself

^ That was me over a year ago. If you scroll down you'll see I had some very long thoughts about this show. It literally took me this long to attempt a rewatch.

Reading the more recent reviews, there's so much Yumi hate lol. But then by my own review, I was also pissed at her too.

Since last year I have read the webtoon. And just like I suspected, they ruined the chance for a season 3 that would be faithful to the source material. S**nr*k would have to be rewritten because Babi was much more Perfect in the drama than he was in the webtoon. And Yumi's much more likable in the webtoon.

Spoiler- All I really wanted to say was, Yumi's and Babi's first kiss was the most knee shaking scene I've ever seen! It may be because I'm hopelessly in love with Jinyoung. I know they are professionals but hats off to Go-Eun because I would be trying to marry him in RL!

Knowing what lies ahead, I may just put episodes 3 and 4 on repeat and stop there.

Dang I get long winded about this show. I just love/hate it so much!

Luna Jun 26 2024 8:08 am I feel so sorry for Woong. He loves Yumi so much, that eventhough she's not the best for Woong, he's still love her as she is. Woong was so much a gentle man. He knows when he should act cute and sweet, yet he could also set a strict boundary when someone has "crossed the line". He's a person with a firm principle and he live with it, so he also knows when to not crossed the line. That's why he's "the perfect match" for Yumi, as someone who have so much insecurities. He is someone who you could trust.

Unlike Woong, Babi seems always have ulterior motive everytime he act. I remember clearly how he always following Yumi around despite the fact that he has a gf and he also knows that Yumi has a bf. The most nasty thing that he had done was when he put his jacket to Yumi, despite her bf was there. I know that Woong was drunk, but I didn't, never and will never think that was an appropriate act you do in front of someone else lover. Imagine you have so much insecurities yet your lover sometimes would crossing the line, being lulled by some other girls temptation. You'll feel worst and worthless, I bet you never want to taste that feeling. You'll question yourself your whole live, and you will have a hard time trusting your partner. And someone who whould lulled by temptation would always tempted by it when he got some quarrel with their partner.

That's why I said that Woong is the best match for her, because he can keep your trust. Just like what Woong did to Yumi when he knows she had a new bf, he never crossed the line.

But I agree that Yumi actually is the problem here, because she has no reason to break up with Woong unlike her other ex-es. The only reason Woong asked for a break up was because he's insecurities that he would mess with Yumi's welfare. Yet Yumi never asked Woong seriously why he had to sell his house, and instead asking for a marriage despite she knows Woong was in a tight spot. The only mistake Woong had ever done was he never tell his struggle. Ffs, that's the only realistic thing why he want a break up!! ?

Neither Woong nor BaBi deserves Yu Mi. I hope she will end up with a new male lead who is better than the other guys and marry him in the end.

MM Feb 23 2024 4:34 pm I just finished this, so annoyed the movie is so unrealistic what's so special about Yumi that she keeps hurting these guys, her love is full of insecurities and impatience if she loved woong she would've known something was wrong for him to suddenly change before the breakup. Lets not even talk about how she hurt Babi so annoying. The cells are the only interesting part of the drama if you're here for love forget it

She proposed to woong and she needed an answer fast, and got disappointed.Later she asked babi about Daeun and just walked out when he was silent.I get y Yumi is upset but she acts so immaturely.

I’ve seen some comments saying Kim Mingyu and he is also a strong contender as well. I can’t wait to see Yumi’s endgame . I loveeeee this series so much

Samy Aug 10 2023 6:09 pm After watching both the seasons, I think the main problem is Yumi herself. Not Wung, not Babi. In the first season, although Yumi was the one to ask for a break with a stupid reason, Wung had a valid reason for break up. It's very embarrassing to be hell broke and get bankrupted and then depend on your partner. I don't think he's immature. He wanted to make his career without depending on anyone. C'mon love is not everything in life, love is just a part of our lives. Now coming to Babi, He's such a great guy. He has always supported Yumi even before they started dating. Even the way Babi supported her, Yumi couldn't support Wung like that. The way Babi kept on pushing Yumi in her career, that was amazing. No one, not a single person does this. According to me Yumi is the solo problem in her own love life. Her trust breaks on the basis of her own speculations. She doesn't give a chance to explain, she is insecure, her love just vanishes because of unnecessary doubts. Yumi's love is very fragile. It vanishes every now and then. Like seriously dude you are 34. Not in your 20s. C'mon man. What kind of love and trust is this which break so easily! I don't know how the writer will end Yumi's love life in Season 3 (If there's any). If this is how Yumi keeps on doing, it's very hard for her to get married. Although I know this is a fictional story and the writer will make her end up with someone, that's gonna happen only because it's a fictional story. In real life, a person like Yumi can never be satisfied and happy.

Ah Musing Aug 01 2023 5:33 pm It felt like Yumi looks more for excuses to leave relationships than for reasons to stay in one. I get it - her past and all, but c'mon, you got to trash all that baggage at some point. Otherwise you'll keep discarding relationships like used T-shirts. The worst part? You'll end up hurting a lot of good people, including yourself. In Jeju, she'd decided to leave Babi even before giving him a chance to explain himself. The previous xmas, he did not mind that she met Wung because he trusted her so much. Sad that she couldn't even extend that courtesy to him after being with him a full year. Same with Wung two years prior - she unilaterally decided to "take an indefinite break", which is the same as breaking up, if you ask me, for the most trivial reasons. I'm on S2E10 and the writers would have us believe that she'd matured a lot but to me, she was the same insecure & jealous 20 something. I hope she really turns a page in the next 4 eps :) As for performances - I think the FL did an exceptional job. I loved her acting in both seasons, esp. her facial expressions - brilliant! The MLs were adequate, Wung being somewhat better than Babi.

I couldn't understand why I didn't just finish the drama, be mad for a minute at the ending, and then move on to the next one like I normally do. But then it hit me hard. For 2 seasons, the writers made us feel like we were inside Yumi's head, ie, as her cells. I felt all that! When Wung walked away at the S1 end, I literally thought "I" as Yumi would never love again.

But what they did to us in s2 was just cold. I'm even crying now as I'm writing this. The way we fell in love with Babi was so pure and so beautiful. From the secret cells of deeply hidden feelings stored away in the Babi club, to Babis village waiting patiently for Yumi to come to him and him needing no password to get thru her walls. How could he NOT be the end game.

The build up went up for so long. We even met Babis father. Too many things were going right. And for both break ups to be so inexplicably childish on Yumi's part showing absolutely no character growth. That had me sick. The love cell leaving was not explained well at all and therefore "we" viewers cells are sitting around here wondering why in the hell "we" don't love Babi anymore??

I'm sorry I did not read the webtoon and maybe I will one day, but if its true that the show combined some of Babi with her eventual husband, they should not have ended the show with them breaking up TWICE. Now even if there is a 3rd season, which I personally don't want, how can we top Babi? And how could we even think of reintroducing him in the same tragic way they tried to bring back Wung.

10 Stars to the lead actors. My god Jinyoung! Just hearing him sing Shining on Your Night has me absolutely su*c*dal now! It cuts so deep. Kim Go Eun now has at least dramas that leave me weeping and although I can at least rewatch the first 12 eps of Goblin, I don't know if I can hurt like this again for while by rewatching Yumi's Cells.

It's a great show, put please be emotionally stable before you watch it.

If only Yumi was matured enough to talk things through with Babi that Christmas eve than walking out ? I get that not telling Yumi about Da eun's confession and selling his house is terrible, but c'mon, he was willing to go through the inconvenience of moving out and letting go of a perfect home to protect his relationship with Yumi.

What about him wavering? He found Da eun cute for a fleeting second, he was touched to know she admires and appreciates him- aren't those just normal feelings? He never acted on those feelings because he loves Yumi and was sure of her, but Yumi could not even trust him and hear him out. Babi said it loud and clear that those feelings were nothing. They were in a LDR and opening up about those kinds of events, won't it make the receiving partner's imagination run wild until their next meeting? Knowing how ssuming Yumi is, she would have lost her focus and all if she learned about it earlier.

Babi has always been so understanding with her even while she kept close friendship with Woong knowing that the latter still has feelings for her and intentions to win her back. Did she not waver with Woong? He even went up her priority ranking and she acts as if she is so mighty perfect and loyal in her and Babi's relationship.

Even up until the end Babi didn't want Yumi to feel bad or guilty if she learns he was still single and haven't gotten over her. ? He always puts her first.

Lemi Mar 09 2023 8:58 am Am sorry but babi was and is the right choice for Yumi.he was very supportive and loving through out.....the reason for breaking up is xo childish like many people Weaver in relationships but the important thing is that they still choose u and remain faithful and try to make it work..if everyone just leaves bcoz of it then no married couple or long-term relationship would still exist in this world......he honestly deserve better...woong was good in S01 but he is such a non factor in this ,...his story should hv ended in S01..like can he please move on!!!..if Yumi isn't going to end up with babi then it's better she ends up with someoyelse not an insecured man child who gain confidence with money only.. goodbye pipo

Ban Ai Li Jan 22 2023 11:14 pm I never read the webtoon, but I have been enjoying the drama series. However, I really dislike that Yumi does not end up with Babi. The reasoning behind it feels very forced, and I feel like Yumi became a bit unlikeable in that it feels like she ended up using Babi for his feelings. I mean, she's got behind her a string of heartbroken exes now. At some point, you have to wonder who the problem really is.

Admittedly I did not like Babi as a character in Season 1, but he really grew on me here. I felt that his feelings throughout this season were genuine. Still gutted about when she just left him all alone that Christmas in Jeju. :(

This series does a great job of playing with your heart strings - but I have to say, I don't really like Yumi as a character anymore. It's like she can't see the humanity of the people she keeps going back to and whose hearts she keeps breaking. With that said, I SINCERELY hope she does not end up with Wung again. That ship needs to have sailed.

hoihoi Dec 11 2022 8:04 am i don't think season 3 is going to happen, all shin soonrok's scenes are taken by yoo babi. as a webtoon reader, i personally love this open ending tho. i also love how they didn't make babi's character as bad as webtoon (and esp not marrying him off with daeun). i really love all actors and characters, i am amazed at the production team's effort in making all cells came true.

luna Oct 01 2022 9:56 pm I dont know why but I love this season so much. Many scenes that made me cry my heart out, Kim Go Eun and Jin Young played their part reallyyy well! I love Yumi and Woong's relationship but Yumi and Babi are just.. very supportive of each other, Babi made Yumi pursue her dream to be a writer and push her to be her best self. Its really sad how things went, but I genuinely wish Yumi could be happy with whoever her boyfriend is.

I loveee season 2's soundtracks So Much I listened to the songs over and over again on Spotify! I love how the shots were taken too. Love the funny animation, love the depth of the expression that KGE and JY showed!!!! Kudos to every staff and casts etc that made this season happen! thank you!

They really changed how things went with Babi and for the worst, they just refused to show us their relationship as they did so well with Woong and in the end the story became senseless and stupid (and boring). I mean BaBi lying about not going to the US that was pathetic screenwriting (it's completely out of character). It makes absolutely no sense. I wish they had kept with the webtoon (in the first season they did so well) in which everything is well developed. I feel like the producers didn't have the courage to give us Yumi in a new relationship and felt the need to center the story again in Woong. Unfortunately it did not work. Right now I really hope they don't make a third season because a have no faith that they will do it justice!!! My suggestion? Watch the first season then go read the webtoon!! Pretend this second season never happened!

I still can't move on from Yoo Bobby (I love Woong too, he is so sweet in the end). i think i am too invested with yumi and bobby's relationship that's why i'm very disappointed with the ending. choosing kim go eun as yumi and jinyoung as yoo bobby is the best, the cast did a great job and should get a raise. jinyoung is the reason my i am watching this. and kim go eun makes me a new fan of her, she's so amazing!

I hope that my enthousiasme will rise up before Yummy Cells 3 will air.

Honestly, I can't really see YumBab relationship despite it goes longer than YumOong. It really lacks of dynamic (thankfully we're presented Daeun factor). But it's still unclear how Babi's attracted to Yumi. The image that he shows to Yumi is also almost too perfect, making him a little suspicious. I mean, how can a person only shows his good side in a one year relationship? Him having less cell appearance from Woong doesn't help either. The thing is, I can't bring myself to enjoy his relationship with Yumi because of all that.

With Woong, it's a rollercoaster of emotion. He deserves to be loved, to be mad at, and to cry about. He's very sweet yet can be frustrating, but he's never boring. Too bad we won't be seeing him have the happy ending.

But in the end, the most important thing is weather they can survice without each other. I do not think Yumi has got valid reason to break up with Ba bi initially.

Babi's character is totaly different from webtoon. he is a good man, gentle, straighforward, supporting. He made a mistake that he didn't tell yumi right away when he got confession and tell yumi that he wanted to move because its burden to live near the girl who had feeling for him because the girl's parent started sent him fruit and it said from DAEUN. The only mistake he mad is not telling Yumi about what happened which is make Yumi upset about it , it is like something happen.

So far, Babi is a good boyfriend, always supporting yumi in every way.

Clearly Ba bi takes the cake with this. How can you like to your significant other after such a huge accident? She gave a second chance to the wrong guy. Woong has way less issues and she wouldn't have to suffer too much heartache with him. He knows Yumi hates liars. I hope she didn't say yes to the proposal, it's way too sudden. As season 2 progress I learned to accept Ba Bi and he is a perfect boyfriend except with his one mistake. I know it’s not a simple mistake, but we saw how much Ba Bi loves Yumi. I guess in reality, people do mistake/s and people also learn how to forgive. We can’t really have that perfect boyfriend/partner or relationship in life. We tend to get hurt by the people we love and Vice versa, but learn from our mistakes and it helps us be a better person for ourselves and our love ones.

The basic thing that differentiates ba bi and woong is their communication. Woong is a good & loyal man, but he leaves yumi and there wasn’t open communication between them, on the other hand, ba bi continues to chase yumi because she loves yumi so much. Yes he made mistake but then he regretted it, he loves yumi and just want to be with Yumi. Woong only realized his love after being separated from Yumi for a long time, and that was too late.

So the lesson learned, if you really love someone even in hard times, keep trying to keep your love. that's the proof of true love.

At first, I like the Woong and Yumi story because I recognized myself. However, the problem is that Woong later on became careless and seemed to have lost interest because of his pride, and we all know that most men have strong pride. Initially, he refused to admit to Yumi that there was a problem, and we all know that communication in relationships is crucial to avoid being misled to make mistakes or tell lies.

And I am aware that Woong is having difficulties; given that Yumi is there, he need to be honest about (partners)

You send ling message and the respond is by a two-word  that seemed uninterested in what was being said to you on chat and really happen in real life and i'm getting annoyed of that ,

This drama series you will learn a lot and the're a lot realiciation when you being in realtionship

The story of Ba-bi and Yumi is particularly enjoyable since it is similar to what happens in real life when someone has an attractive boyfriend and a coworker who is desperately striving to be cute. Even she is aware that he has a girlfriend, therefore there is no need in confessing when you already know it. I like Ba-Bi; yes, I am aware that he was swayed, but that didn't last for a month; instead, he took steps to prevent a similar situation from occurring. Only a strong man could do that, as other people often take advantage of confessions to justify their own sinful behavior but realize this not right so he made the action but eventually they still break because of the standard of yumi when it comes to Love, and i see how ba-bi stop you Yumi and try to fix the mistake compare to woong right ? When they breakup .

I just want to say it's really happen in real life and it' happening to me -_- .

Woong and Yumi please Jul 13 2022 8:16 am It's funny how Babi fans are hating on Woong. I guess these people skipped all the Woong scenes. Woong looked back on the things he did wrong while he was with Yumi. He reflected on his actions. Ever since then both Yumi and Woong have grown a lot and matured a lot. They're now at the stage where they compliment each other. They are both comfortable with each other. Babi was used as a plot device? I actually don't understand why Babi character was even included in this drama. Right from the beginning he was shown as someone shady. He always found an excuse to start a conversation with Yumi (even when he had a gf and she had a bf) and when Yumi saw that spot on and hesitated to talk to them, he'll be like "My girlfriend said this umbrella might belong to a woman". "My girlfriend is coming home so I'm buying groceries to cook." These shady lines made Yumi let her guard down and talk to him. I found him downright creepy and don't even know how his character has fans. He was so unreal. And untrue as well. He has found a girl for whom his heart flutters. He can go back to her. You didn't hear him say he found her cute? Woong in turn was living with a broken heart keeping pictures of Yumi deep down her heart. He kept away from her as she had a BF. He already approached her once to apologise for his behaviour and tell her real reason for the break-up but Yumi madam didn't give him a chance at all. Now that she is single, Woong is trying to get back with her and I don't find anything wrong with that. He wants to give the best to Yumi and he is at the best phase of his life.

Babi did not really cheat directly but he is still a traitor. That is why in the special Yumi’s cell exhibition if I remember it right. Babi is a punching bag..A lot of us has been hurt by Babi.. And we are deeply hurt cause we also feel in love with him. I guess I fell in love with every guy Yumi fell in love with. It is a Yumi spell and then get my heart broken as well. Hahaha

If you read the webtoon they both help each other grow. They both went out to reach their dreams and Yumi even help him with his dad (this wasn't show in the drama but its in the webtoon go read it and you can continue to the authornim other work cause it is also awesome and Woong is there.. hahah commercial)

I am one of those people who also did wish for them to get back together but when they did. They went back to phase 1 and the relationship was over. It was fine I accept it until. I think the misunderstanding came bc Babi didn’t realize his wavering feeling until the indirect confession. At that point he made a decision that he loves Yuma and doesn’t want to cause misunderstanding so for her sake he will move. Bc from the note daeuns mom left, it was clear she still was going to be around lingering. I feel like bad communication and Yumis insecurity caused the breakup but they can still talk it through. Feelings can’t be controlled that’s life but choices can and Babi has done a lot to foster Yumis growth so I think they should be together. Wung had too much pride and kept too many secrets. Even with Saeyi, he just pretended not to know anything and continued to gaslight Yumi! He only said something when given an ultimatum and ultimately ended up hurting Yumi with his lies to save his own pride. I feel Wungs lies were selfish and Babis lies (WHILE STILL WRONG) were to try to avoid hurting Yumi. I don’t think Soonrok will show up in the drama since many of his scenes were given to Babi anyway. ?

Oh, come on, people! Lack of communication anf disloyalty are the important factors in a relationship (in this case, romantic one). So, Woong is No Better than Babi, and Babi is also No Better than Woong.

Like @christina said, the chance that Woong will do the same mistake in future is as high as Babi will do. In eps 10, you can see Woong still has his pride. What if his company collaps one day.

But I like the plot twist: Woong and Babi will chase for Yumi's love :D. Hopefully, the writernim won't create Shin Soonrok character in drama version, because from what people write about him, it's like Soonrok is flawless, way better than Woong and Babi which means he is not real person (in my opinion). This drama should end in a realistic way.

Either Yumi chooses to focus only on her career as a writer, OR she will choose one of her ex, I don't mind because that is more relatistic ending for Yumi, way better ending than bring in Shin Soonrok as Yumi's endgame ;)

They showed us Babi's heart village shaken after indirect confession from Daeun, but we don't know what it was shaken for? and when yumi asked him about that he couldn't answer which make yumi asking for break up. Maybe he is still figuring out about what that shaken heart for? For moving house , IMHO it is very good decision, which if we dont like the person the dont make misunderstand situation for the girl who confess to us by being good to her.

And For Wung, i think he is very good man but he have to know what iunconditionally love is? by being open and tell the girl you love your situation if they really love you she will come around. by pushing away is not the answer.

Wung should have told Yumi about his situation. He never shared his situation but simply took the easiest way out - let's breakup. Yumi was hurt badly, didn't it? The wound that Woong's love cell suffered was from the time of the rice pot where Yumi was honest and faithful to her new love. What I'm saying is: to err is human. If what Yumi afraid is that BaBi might swayed in future, then she too has to be afraid that Woong business might get into trouble and the entire thing repeat. So there's no guarantee. Yumi just need to check herself to see where her faith lies. ^_^

You can not say that a moment of weakness is nothing if you needed to move in order to avoid Da Eun. If she is really nothing, you will be confident to still see her every single day and know that that is all there is to it.

In all honesty though, personality wise, Babi and Da Eun will make a better couple. They suit each other more. I couldn't put a finger on it, but Yumi and Babi seems awkward to me.

If only Wung improves his communication, he and Yumi would be perfect for each other.

Do you suddenly decide to up and move from a house you said you loved because someone you supposedly had no feelings for moved away and actually you can't really stand to be in the same area knowing they won't be there but you'll be reminded of their presence and absence every day? You might think that this is nothing but lots of small, similar occurences can snowball into a bigger issue - such as Babi suddenly deciding to move without mentioning anything to Yumi and her always have to notice and find these things out from DaEun or incidentally. Yumi has endured a lot and she just doesn't want to feel awful or have her love turn twisted as it was becoming because of how hurt she felt. She has felt this kind of hurt before remember. We all have things we can't concede on and that's fine. I think that yes this is a learning experience for Yumi and I am really excited to see how things turn out for her in the future. When he did start feeling the tiniest bit of fondness for DaEun, he took steps to mitigate it and protect his relationship with Yumi. He loves Yumi. It says alot about Yumi that she is willing to immediately throw away her relationship over this very small thing, especially when everything else about Babi is so ideal. I believe the whole point of showing Yumi's intolerance and haste is to illustrate how she still is not mature enough or secure enough for a relationship. Remember when Babi said Saranghae, she couldn't even say it back; she just says "me too".

Where as a matter of fact, I'm just genuinely a nice person. And that's how Ba bi is whether he is aware of it or not and yes of course there's always gonna be people you find even more attractive than your partner or people you click with even more.

But what is important is that even when you find your self almost being swayed(but not having touched,kissed or anything that might hint at you cheating) decided to still choose your partner regardless of the situation and making sure you distance yourself from the situation is very brave and true and that's exactly what Ba bi did and I respect him for that and actually find it admirable not alot people and do that and he did because he couldn't afford to let things escalate because of how much he loves Yumi.

I liked Wung in S1 and was super annoyed that S2 was about Ba bi but seeing how Yumi is with Ba bi was just refreshing and realistic. He made such an effect to be in Yumis life and literally never gave up on her, he also has a huge impact on Yumi which led her to finally chasing her dream which shows he wants what's best for her.

One thing that sucks about Babi is him not telling Yumi before hand and keeping it all to himself, if you can't trust the foundation of your relationship well enough to talk about such things cause I mean they do happen once in awhile......then why the hell are you guys in a relationship.

Anywhoooo.....Honestly may the best man and only the best man win Yumis heart.

I think we have already seen how Babi influences Yumi to live her dream as a writer. What we haven't yet seen is how Yumi influences Babi. Is it through the breakup between them as a couple, or anything else?

Babi is definitely a mysterious character so far. Though the chance is high that he will cheat (like in the webtoon and or like what most people think), I am looking forward to see what changes Babi will experience through his relationship with Yumi.

I don't know why, but I kinda feel that there will be no Shin Soonrrok character in drama version ;-)

But the scenes with Bobby were supposed to be with Soonrok (in the webtoon), so there is a chance that the director will make Yumi end up with Bobby. Because usually, they don't really follow the webtoon.

A little trivia, the character Shin Soonrok is based on the actors Park Bo-Gum and Kang Ha-Neul. The author said that he wanted the character to appear cheerful rather than serious, so he looked to those two actors as references. Anyways, if Shin Soonrok appears, I look forward to who will portray the character.

Yumi's Biggest Fan Jul 03 2022 10:05 am Amidst all the debates, this drama is The Best! The last time I fangirl this hard is during Reply 1997. Yumi Cells (incl first season) is the one I fangirl so much after a while. It's becoming one of my all-time fav drama because the sentimentality it has as the long-term webtoon reader. It's funny because in webtoon people also refuse to move on only to get swayed with the next guy, so looking at the comments here reminds me of the webtoon comment, haha. In the end, we all are Team Yumi! I was one of those who's skeptical of this adaptation, but turns out this is hands down the best webtoon adaptation. Kim Goeun as Kim Yumi is the best choice!! The soundtrack, directing, animation, voice acting, everything about this drama is top notch! Also since the webtoon is also super popular, I'm glad to see many tweaks in the plot and familiar scenes that are altered somehow. Honestly, Song Jaejung (the writer) has tendency to do unnecessary plot twist, so I hope she doesn't go overboard with the plot twist.

It's sad that it only has 14 eps, so we only have three weeks from now... I'm going to miss you all commenters here :')

Also, I completely agree with Jinyoung on his explanation of Babi. If I remember it correctly he says that he has a kind kid syndrome where he is obsessed to do well and also pleasing others which leads to misunderstanding.

Babi tries to hide the negative part of him that is why he always seems perfect. They are both hiding a part of themselves so they would not disappoint one another but Yumi is starting to open up. Well she is much more open than Babi.

And love the part about Deja Vu cause that is what came to my head when I was reading the webtoon as well. The thing that happens to them before is happening again but now with another girl. TBH with all Yumi’s exes I am more deeply hurt and disappointed by Babi. Like seriously?! I use to blindly root for him as well until I saw how it ends.

For me, I wish they stick with the webtoon plot cause Yumi deserves better. And I love her growth through the story. As far as I know, this is supposed to be about Yumi so yep Team Yumi all the way!! ?

How could the writers have built up Ba Bi’s character so much only to let us down? He didn’t seem to be the cheater type. There were no red flags that we saw with Woong. He went so far as to cancel his blind date because he still had feelings for Yumi. And even his scenes with the other girl seemed benign. Everyone knew how in love he was with Yumi. Why this sudden change in his character? Is this really how the web toon went? I really hope the preview was meant to mislead us. If the writers decided to follow the web toon, they shouldn’t have given Ba Bi some of Soon Rook’s scenes as I’ve read they have. And if there’s a third season, please bring out Soon Rook now!

Shin Iwed Jul 03 2022 3:04 am In one of interview videos of PJY and KGE, PJY accidentally said something about his character (read: Yoo Ba Bi). He said that Ba Bi is actually a jealousy type. Since the middle to the ending episodes, Ba Bi is jealous about something. Though, PJY said nothing more about it (cause it was a spoiler), I thought next week episode (either eps 9 or 10), there will be a big plot twist in the story. There is a chance that the writernim will make Ba Bi character is jealous of Yumi because other male character has a crush on her. Maybe, that male named Sunrook (dunno, just guessing). Like the director said before, there will be no Season 3. The story of Yumi will be finished in this second season. So, I think the story will be way different from the webtoon. After all, Lee Dong Gun ssi (the writer of Yumis' webtoon) said he doesn't really mind about how the screenwriters will make Yumi's story in the drama. Drama writing is not his specialty. So, I think there is a freedom for the screenwriter to change the plotline.

In my opinion it would be great if she's the one who leaves Babi and not him leaving her as it would cause her more sadness, and Babi having a hard time after yumi leaves him, that would compensate in some way him getting shaken by another women as also I would love to see Yumi marrying first before Woongi and Ba bi tbh, it's not that I don't want them to have a good life but Yumi should be put first before them making a grand decision as marrying. She only noticed the changes in her partners. She was never toxic or egoistic. Woong was definitely helpless because of his financial conditions. But he hold on to his pride instead of not being egoistic towards Yumi. He could have shared his problem or situations with her. That's also what a partner is for, right? What's the benefit of being private and egoistic in a relationship? Even though he realised it later, that was too long to be sorry for guilty. And he lied to Yumi more than one time during the relationship. We know he did nothing wrong behind her. But hiding things is the beginning of the end of a healthy relationship. He always put his pride and ego first. He didn't even attend her call when she made an effort to forgive him for every small and large things. What's the use of realising mistake after months after giving someone hardest of the hardest heartbreak...??!! So let's move on from Woong. It's over guys. They could be friends for sure. But he's not a husband material. Otherwise they'll end up ruining their life due to pride and ego.

Now about Babi, from the very beginning I had a bad feeling for him. I will tell you why .He showed interest in Yumi even before he officially break up with his girlfriend. He was interested in Yumi when he was in another relationship and now he's shaken for another girl when he's with Yumi. I don't want Yumi to be with someone this easy. She's a very sincere woman. She deserves someone like her. She maturely handled the meeting with his ex Woongi too even after knowing Woongi breakup with her due to helplessness.And then there's Babi ,who can't even handle his heart for a stranger he met few days ago.

I still liked the guy. Woong seemed to be a genuinely nice guy, just clueless in relationships. However, with Babi, we didn't see this slow climax to the drama and pain that followed in the ending of ep.8. I feel like they let us down. I went back over that episode trying to recall anything I may have missed. You guessed it, I didn't miss a thing. It would be a lot easier to accept if they didn't make this guy the perfect man only to make him the complete worse. There were no clues, at least that they showed, but I am sure they will recap it later. I also get that it is about her finding herself but this was painful to watch. Why would we need to see him being shaken by another woman that he just met? Just paint him the bad guy and let's keep moving since it is about Yumi and not him and whoever he finds attraction with. I hope I am so wrong about this last episode. Fingers crossed!!!! I have never hated a cliffhanger more... Most writers leave us wanting more, feeling excited and giggly. This just left me livid. What happened to the warm and bubbly feeling you get from a romcom? I guess I did not get the memo and see it was clearly a drama. Either way, I hated this cliffhanger.

But in s2, why you also made daeun's and ahn daeyong's appeared? With the less screentime of babi's? And you also showed how the whole babi's village shaking because of daeun but never show us how the cells feels when with yumi? Babi just got 4 cells so far. I'm so disappointed. yes, yumi was her number one priority at the end of the season 1 and then suddenly, he broke up (i dont remember the exact episode but i remember being in the last few episodes).

i am not saying woong is perfect or babi is the worst, i just shared my thoughts and observations. everyone has their own opinion anyway.

i like babi, i love woong and i simply dont care if yumi ends up with babi, or woong, or someone else, or choose to being single.

woong broke up with her when she is his first priority, i think it was a tough choice for him. sometimes you just can not feel enough for the people you love and when that happens, you feel like you're pulling the other person down with you. i think that's what made him broke up with her.

i like bobby, but i just couldn't love him. i feel like there is something wrong with him. not because i am "team woong", it's just something doesn't feel right. and from what i see, she does not look like she loves him like she loved woong, i think her feelings for bobby were just a big admiration.

i didnt read the webtoon but if they bring her husband, i dont care about woong or babi, definitely "team her webtoon husband".

But I'm telling you, theirs was not okay in reality. You need to be honest with each other to make a relationship last. I hope you stop blaming Yumi for falling for Yoo Babi. Babi isn't perfect at all but I myself have found my own Babi, he's not as handsome as Jinyoung but he supports me and honest with me. Our story is not the same with webtoon but as far as the KDRAMA SERIES (as of now) is concern, they have the same personality and we almost have the same story. We are happily married for 10 years with 2 kids and I am thankful to God for giving me such a loving and supportive husband. So, let's just chill and enjoy every moment of Yumi's story. I believe drama PDs will give justice to Yumi and Babi's ending.

I really liked the dynamic between Yumi and Woong. They're so different, yet so good for each other. Woong's relationship with Yumi took me to a rollercoaster of emotion. It gave a lot of impact. I felt embarrassed for Woong to take Yumi to the silly frog event, but I felt relieved to know that Yumi found him cute at the end. I got upset that Woong couldn't handle SaeYi or his company problem the way he's expected to, I don't like how their decision to break up made total sense, yet so hard to understand. I really wished they could talk about it and compromise to make the relationship works. They deserve a happy ending.

Babi, on the other hand, looks like a fine lover. But he's so vanilla. I get it that they're in their 30s, but I think Yumi Babi moments lack of any pit-a-pat effect. In fact, nothing that Babi does leaves any kind of effect. If he isn't handsome,... well I'm not sure he'll even be half as charming. Everything's so plain with Babi and honestly, he doesn't feel like a main character so far.

Can't she let him handle things the way he wants? Why pressure him with marriage when you made all the plans by yourself? And to be sincere, she got swayed by Yoo Bobby before ending things with Woong. Who sits close to another guy at a table when your man is there? Who lets another man wrap a jacket around them when another man is there?

I hope woong ends up with someone that sees his true and and understands him, not mounting unnecessary pressure on him over irrelevant things that happened in the past.

Soonrok is yet to appear in this season cos we are still early on Babi and Yumi's relationship which is the focus of season 2. He'll probably appear towards the end. Only then will he appear in the cast list. :)

For now, let's not get ahead of ourselves and the series and just enjoy Babi and Yumi's love story. :)

SO, Yumi, and her cells, are the only main character :) Why let a pairing determine whether you will watch this show or not? Boyfriends and relationships come and go, what matters is Yumi's journey in growing and maturing and we as audiences can find energy from it and find her inner thoughts and challenges relatable. Each relationship teaches us something and that's what important.

And the cells, they are truly the main reason why this show is so well received. Just because they are cartoon doesn't make them childish. It was able to convey so much of a person's inner thoughts and conflicts. It showcases many of adult issues and they are not naive. I thought Pixar has taught the world enough that cartoons can be for adults too lol?

tom Jun 13 2022 4:24 am the first season,the relationship had clarity,the problems were clear between woong and yumi and it led to the breakup,but i feel yumi was quite harsh on him towards the end and he didn't really deserve that,he was a nice guy with his flaws,so is she but i also feel like their breakup didn't quite get "closure" liked how babi's character was introduced but his arc should have been introduced 'properly' which they didn't. also,minho's character was really nice :) now,the things i despised - the animated cells and their screentime (does it make sense to you that they get the whole screentime instead of the actual characters,it's not cute,it's terrible and it ruins the watching experience for a person because they are all you see the entire goddamn time in an episode,i really thought their screentime would be reduced,guess i was kidding myself,also isn't it time people stop writing women acting like a 2 year old with the irritating tone (RUBY) and continuously be used for scene filler and couple-ruining purposes in the name of "aegyo" please stop,it's not funny or cute it's just embarassing. aegyo only works if you have that natural 'cute' factor,which most of the characters who does aegyo does NOT. two eps in,the second season feels like it's not going anywhere,shame,i really liked jinyoung but the plot is dreary and dull with nothing much going on,and yumi's character seems to have changed,but not in a nice way.

I super love the webtoon that is why I watch the drama which I also love especially when they are sticking to the original story. This story is somehow so realistic. This is not just about Yumi’s love story but also her growth. In the end, you’ll realize why things did not work out. I still feel bad for Woong and still hoping he got his happy ending in the other webtoon. And I am truly happy for Yumi’s growth. Can’t wait to see the next season. I love Jinyoung but yeah I hate Yoo Bobby. I used to like him but yeah you’ll understand once you see or read it. The author of yumi’s cell is just amazing. I enjoy reading the other webtoon as well.

Considering you’ve read the webcomic, you know that she has multiple relationships all throughout—the drama is only trying to stay true to its source. In regards to the poster, are they supposed to put the end-game couple on the first season poster even if they’re supposed to be for the last season? I understand you don't find it interesting but that doesn't mean it only deserves a season 2 if particular people like or dislike it. Personally, I loved season 1 and I'm looking forward to season 2!
