Set during the Joseon period, Madam Jo (Son Ye-Jin) is a charming and talented woman, but she is unable to do anything because of the limitations placed on women. She resents the restrictions placed on her by society. She then proposes a temptation game with her admirer Jo Won (Ji Chang-Wook). Jo Won is an attractive man who doesn't believe in love and only enjoys dating. To win Madam Jo's heart, he accepts her bet and he tries his best to win. Hee-Yeon (Nana) is a widow who vows to remain chaste after losing her husband. Jo Won approaches her, but she tries to cut off him. Having conflicting emotions, Hee-Yeon becomes shaken by Jo Won.
