Young-Soon (Ra Mi-Ran) is a single mother and runs a pig farm. She raised her son Kang-Ho alone. Young-Soon made herself into a bad mother and was strict with Kang-Ho, because she didn't want him to become like her.

Now, Kang-Ho (Lee Do-Hyun) is all grown up. He works as a prosecutor and has a cold-hearted personality. While pursuing his career and holding his own secret, he turned away his mother Young-Soon. One day, Kang-Ho has an unexpected accident and becomes like a child. He moves back to his hometown and begins a new life with his bad mother Young-Soon. Meanwhile, Mi-Joo (Ahn Eun-Jin) is Kang-Ho’s childhood friend. She has a warm heart and is the type of person who can't walk away from injustice. She meets Kang-Ho again, who has become like a child, and her life changes.

Wherever we live, this drama speaks to us, of our loves, our sorrows, our hopes. One of the most beautiful K-dramas I have ever seen, with tears in my eyes but my heart open. Bae Se-Young, your drama is a masterpiece, and Sim Na-Yeon, you have brought it to life beautifully. The acting is so true to life that the actors are no longer actors but have become one with their characters. A drama in the purest tradition of Korean dramas, the kind that make us addicted to these slices of life that are not ours but could be.

Bae Se-Young, may this masterpiece be just the beginning of a long series. Well done again, and thank you.

I mean, it's not even building a multicomplex apartment, or mega city. why would people goes so far as killing people with gangster, bribing police officer with land and higher rank, and bribing prosecutor only to relocate a pig farm for olympic... I've always found her really beautiful and wanted to know if she has any social media, an instagram or whatever she's up to

This drama thought me of so many things, like your parents has reasons why they decided to control their child. I also like how they showed the back stories of the mother and Kang Ho, that's how i got attached to their characters. No questions left unanswered.

The drama is about a mother and how she raises her kid with all her heart and even make mistakes and life makes her regret it and then gives her a second chance, and most of the comments here are about ppl focusing on the main young couple. Those ppl didn’t understand anything about this drama, it is sad to have to depend on those folks appreciation to have more awesome dramas like this. But i guess I have to accept it , because if a drama like business proposal is a success at least there is some money left to do really good dramas like this. And for the person that said that this drama was bad, maybe that person never experienced a mothers love in the same intensity as the one depicted in this drama.

(But the main leads doesn’t have that much chemistry) Ra miran is such an amazing actress and wow watching this making me a fan of dohyun even more. This drama has it all, funny dramatic sad touching. Just the few episodes will make you angry. But this drama, just shows the importance of parent and child relationships. What to do and what not to do. And also yes importance of family. All in all. A 10/10 for me ?

Good&Bad Apr 11 2024 10:47 pm I only decided to watch this drama after RMR was nominated as Best Actress for the upcoming 60th Baeksang Awards 2024 and was most curious as to why she was nominated in the first place since I was actually rooting for the FL of My Dearest. And I'm kicking myself now that I should had watched this most awesome, heart wrenching, soul searching drama of humanity and humility.

I love how they were both given a second chance to relive their lives and made right what was wrong from each other's perspective ! Love how the script was written in such a way that the ML was plotting revenge from day one he became a prosecutor. I watched him in The Glory before this, and didn't quite like his acting which I deemed as rigid and didn't fit him. That was a year before he took on this role and boy I gotta admit that I now have such a huge crush on him ! He certainly grew up in a matter of just one year maybe dating an older woman helped him to transit from a boyish fella to a still boyish looking fella but this time with such a vast improvement on his facial expressions and he should be nominated as Best Actor for Daeksang too !

I'll never get over this drama for sure and it should win Best Drama for JBTC , if not for Baeksang. One of the most moving and humbling drama of all time for me !

queenie Mar 25 2024 3:28 pm I had seen this drama advertised but wasn't very interested. Im like romcoms mostly and realized there was a bit of a romance in this so I watched it. Loved it. The main cast all did great jobs. Ra Mi Ram's acting was so good, I hated her character. (good sign of good acting right?) Loved Lee Do Hyun. He had many phased to his character. Shewed Lawyer, 7 yo and than Lawyer who avenged his fathers death. I will look for more dramas that he is in. The twins......the little boy was so good at crying about being teased because he had to go to the girls side for a bath......That kid can act! The support actors all did great jobs, I so enjoyed this drama. I am not any kind of critic, but the story line was fine and all in all I couldn't wait to see each episode and hated for it to end!

fan Feb 15 2024 10:20 am i'm still mindblown.. The Last Episode 14 was very impressive and wrapped up the drama's life lessons clearly. I feel like Most k-drama's last episodes are disappointing, or not as great Because they don't need to entice the viewer to watch anymore, so the effort for the last episode is always the least.

but this drama's last episode wrapped up the Kdrama'S Life Lessons Perfectly. i can't stop thinking about lessons - treat your parents right, life is short, parents have their own wounds, and lessons about the love between parent and child

bella Feb 14 2024 10:30 pm amazing plot line... don't think anyone else would've been able to pull this role off other than Lee Do Hyun! his chemistry with ahn eunjin was impeccable. the story was very touching... how he pushed away his true love and his mom to fulfill his justice was something i didn't expect. he truly loved his mom.

life happens to all of us and parents can carry their pain and unconsciously hurt their children. but she learned from that.

story was incredibly touching. I'm Glad I Finished It

A series that filled our hearts with thousand feelings and emotions. Congrat. to Ra Mi Ram and Ahn Eun Jin whom we saw for the first time. Excellent Lee Do Hyun whom we saw for the second time after "The Glory". Knowing the Korean mentality, this series could have end without a happy ending. Instead, we thank Sim Na Yeon and Ba Se Young for giving us a beautiful series with an overwhelming finale. For these reasons, this series deserves a 99% rating for us. Greetings from Italy

Jen Oct 17 2023 4:04 pm Glad I watched it. I honestly didn’t think this was going to be for us: a story about mother and son mending their relationship!?!? Not into family melodramas like that, on a pig farm no less. So it’s gonna be about country bumpkins??? I’ve seen waaaay too many of those shows while growing up bcs tv series about country bumpkins was a thing in Hong Kong, and I hated it. So, no thank you. But because of the many praises online and about potential awards and high viewerships, I had to find out what’s so great about it. I’m glad I jumped on this wagon.

Still gave me vibes of those Hong Kong country bumpkin stories with its many small-time but larger-than-life village woes, but this was so much better told. The mystery, revenge plot, and how everyone finally knows about… well everything, was quite satisfying. And yes… I couldn’t stop crying. It was so much crying that my wife and I had to take a break for a couple of days with more light-hearted shows before we can continue watching this again.

This series deserves every praise it got and so much more. Highly recommended.

Norben Jul 18 2023 12:01 am This is a drama that helps us to realized to cherish our parents or the people around us. This drama is a well-made drama of all time. The casting, it's a hundred percent for me. The plot, that got me, at first I don't want to watch it but when I watched the episode 1, this really keeps me going to watch it until the end.

The acting, of course, the management chose the actors and actresses tht would fit in this drama, and it doesn't fail us. We have to admit that the plot of this is incredible.

What an amazing drama. Hoping for more very well made quality dramas soon.

Don't get me wrong, since the show was amazingly well written, and was such an emotional roller-coaster to watch. However, as Young Soon's health began to deteriorate and the story seems to lead towards her inevitable end, I just could not push further. I hate watching movies or dramas where a family member dies. It's just me.

Rang MI Ran was amazing as always. She always executes her roles perfectly. Lee Do Hyun was perfect for his character. And then the face mask ajumma was a favorite character for me. I love her not due to the corny fact that she wears a face mask 24/7, but because she is a voice of reason for the villagers. She is the only one who always gives proper insights.

Does it even add value? Her script is ok, but the character wearing an all-day mask is an impossible one!!

It makes the drama look like it's trying hard to inject humour where unnecessary, and therefore downgrades its high merit.

Val torreggiani Jul 02 2023 6:02 am This series runs a gamete of emotions whilst almost keeping the plot together too. I wonder sometimes if cuts are made to make each episode fit the viewing time as there are sometimes unexplained sections, rarely in this series however.

I would like to comment on the inclusion of a westerner, Andrea. Very well done and the use of Google translate was inspired. For we western kdrama addicts, a growing following I am certain, a dreadfully accented ‘western’ voice completely jars. Well done whoever realised this. A clever use of this pleasing actor. The series is truly excellent, should win awards especially mother and son.

The three main leads were excellent and brought this engaging story to life. Highly recommended!

Frankly Jul 01 2023 3:06 pm Woman in mask was my fav character tho her kiss scene and pregnancy scene in last ep was unexpected unneeded and sudden. My most disliked character was young soon, till end she was abusive and b.tcy.

Mijoo started out well and went downhill, she could have built a temple in kang ho's and spent her life as his slave in his feet given how she was always ready to jump back at him. Kangho was an as.hole but then this is the kind of kids you give to the world if young soon is your mother.

A wonderful bittersweet story which takes you from the beginning in no time thru the end. One of my fav dramas now and will watch it again. An amazing exceptional performance of the 2 little ones and Ra Mi Ran who is a very talented actress and of course one of my fav actors now Lee Do Hyun, what a talented highly skilled and gorgeous looking actor.

Kim Garam Jun 21 2023 10:27 pm Finished yesterday and I loved every single episode!! Storyline was beautifully written but there are flaws somehow but it didn't seem that bad.

14 episode instead of 16 is honestly a let down. There are so many things that haven't been explained especially in Mi Joo and Kang-ho rekindle..should've made 1 episode for them and trying to tell the kids that he is the father.

Ra Mi Ran and Lee Do Hyun acting has never disappoint me. They both act so well and the chemistry is blooming!!!

Overall rate is 10/10...wish just it gets 16 episodes

Unlike so much American TV fare, where characters at the beginning of a series pretty much do not grow as people during the story, Korean entertainment is far more realistic and far less static: the way the characters are at the beginning of a story is not how they will be by the end. I think Lee Do Hyun gave another exceptional performance (although I honestly think he was even better in Youth Of May) and Ra Mi Ran was incredible: her character really showcased the best emotional growth. Ahn Eun Jin was beautiful and earnest in her portrayal of a young woman who never could forget her first love. Actor Jung Woong In, always adept at playing villains, was a more reserved villain this time. I'd love to see him play some future roles that are not villains, for a change. He's too typecast. I remember him playing a loving father in one short drama a few years back and that was so nice to see! Korea, give this fine actor some inspirational roles again, instead of villain roles. I would recommend this drama but really would add that it is for a more mature audience.

LDH you're going the right way with this drama. Must better than the earlier one. RMR's acting is top notch, her tone & expressions... love love love! I cried buckets watching the love & affections of their beautiful relationship as mother & son. Need to clear my head before moving to the next title. Kudos to the team & crew!

Erika Jun 13 2023 12:22 pm Below may look like a lot of complaints, but actually, this show is on level Extraordinary Attorney Woo and folks, this show is your 60th Baeksang Arts Grand Prize Winner. Ra Mi-Ran & Lee Do-Hyun were absolutely Incredible!

Mi-Joo's momma is the real villain. Now that I've got that out the way, I'll agree with a few other people here. Most all the characters had a lot of flaws and that's what made them realistic I guess. I'll just list the few things I took issue with.

1) Not that I wanted the show to drag on, but it's commonplace for Kdrama's to be 16 eps and boy did we need that many for Kangho to really earn back the audience's favor after "becoming himself" again. Of course we were rooting for him. But all the while, we were also learning about how much he hurt the people who loved and trusted him along the way. So even though he didnt turn out to be a cold blooded murderer, he was still a bad guy who needed more than 2 scenes with Mijoo to "win" her back.

2) Speaking of that. Obviously, Kangho is the love of her life and and she wants to make it work with the father of her kids. She's seen him at his lowest in life now. But Mijoo kinda rolled over and said "okie dokie let's get back together" kinda quick for me. That was a lot of years of suffering he put her through Unnecessarily. He could have easily confirmed her whether she had gotten married that quickly and if those kids had been registered to another man. He chose not to in order to pursue his revenge plan. The plot was strictly a TV drama plot.

3) Mijoo's Momma! What a *****. Even after finding out Ms Jin was dying, she dares to try and rob that woman of her last few weeks with her grandchildren because of her own prejudices about Kangho's disability. Her scenes made me sick to my stomach and I hope I never know anyone who would treat a human like that. And then for her to have to audacity to take any pride in Kangho's eventual accomplishment. I was filled with rage. Moving on.

4) The audience wanted/needed more family time for the 4 of them in the end. The hug from Kangho to the twins apologizing for not recognizing them should have been a sampling of what we should have gotten in a final scene. We were robbed.

I was happy with the way the was revenge achieved. I do wonder how he initially planned to make it happen.

10/10 Will recommend. Will rewatch. Wish they had bonus scenes with family at the end. :(

idk whether the writer is tryna portray Mijoo as a love-hard type of girl, but in my eyes she's no more than just a pathetic girl who got daddy issue, and that's the only way to justify all her actions towards Kangho

as for Kangho, he's a total reckless asshole, if it's not because of the accident, he would've totally become a monster and could've done something worse than those who killed his father, his revenge plot was very undone, that's why in the last two episodes, even tho everyone got their price, the closure is not satisfying at all

I do understand that the revenge plot is not the main plot so it won't be like The Glory, since its genre is healing family/slice of slice comedy drama but since the ending is very rushed, u didn't get the healing vibes that much either, and I'm talking both Kangho-his mom's relationship and Kangho-Mijoo's love life

I think it would've been a great family drama if the plot was slowed down a little bit and they made 1 or 2 more episodes for a nice and logical wrap up

Bitter Jun 12 2023 7:06 pm When mijoo t⁶old her mom in episode 13 that thankyou for tolerating abuse from father because it gave us a father it was extremely bad comment because her mom suffered horrible abuse just to give a father to kids and even that husband was always absent from their lives and only thing her kids got from their father was watch him beat their mom like a dog and a horrible house environment, pain and misery and misery, is all that pain worth having a father ? And as an adult grown up woman who was strong enough to swing a kick at her opponent she was so narrowminded when came to her mom that she is praising her mom for tolerrating abuse just because she wants to justify being with a loser who never apologized properly to her for not only dumping her but also going after another woman he stayed in relationship with for 5-6 years and trying to marry her.

Kang ho's scenes with hayoung were also disturbing. Like in the hotel room when she asks did you love me ever , he extremely insensitively tells her, i always had someone else in heart and showmakers made it seem like it was completely justified for him to say it this way and ha young must put up with it because he is the hero of this drama so she shouldn't protest, then she also respo ds as if it's all her fault and it wasn't a big deal that he played with her emotions for so many years. Yes she drugged him and did abad thing, but kang ho had bo remorse for what he had done to her prior to it, no matter how bad her dad was how can he be such an insensitive person to drag his daughter into a marriage for a revenge and that too after dumping someone very sincere to him. Like be a man and take revenge on ber dad without hurting his daughter, she was a horrible person so noone felt bad for her but it felt so wrong when he outright tells her that i never loved you without any remorse and never apologizes to her, she had never caused any harm to him.

He was actually exactly like how his mom was , she raised him poorly and he turned out to be exactly like her , dumping a loving gf, fake relationship with another innocent girl to revenge on her dad, if he had married and taken revenge what would he have done to her afterwards? Divorce her now that everything ia done?

Kang ho never apologized to both the women neither ha young and mijoo, his apology for mijoo was extremely half arsed and lacking.

When his investigator tells him how many wrongs he did i found kang ho to be a disgusting person. Why ruin people's lives in present day for some bad past. To him becoming a prosecutor never entailed imparting justice but it was just to satisfy revenge of a psychopath mother at whatever cost even if it meant harming weak people for woobyeok. He was doing almost similar criminal things that his dads killers did, and he acted as heartless towards both women in his life as his mom was when she tells him to leave mijoo on the street or when she goes to mijoo and blames her for ruining her son's life because nurse proposal was lost.

He did take after his mom after all. Bad mothers give bad children.

Mijoo was my fav character but lost all the repsect and everything for her in ep 13 when she supports her mom's abuse and was ready to jump to be with kang ho even when he never gave her proper apology, she never confronted how he went to another woman no matter what his absurd revenge plan was . She had zero sense of self respect , zero ego and was practically nothing but a doormat, like girl you love him but love yourself first, how can you run back to a guy like him without a proper confrontation with him, without a proper conversation, instead she just goes running towards him like she was sitting ready for it. People like mijoo never get true love because they treat themselves as others doormats and hence, noone values them. Kang ho might use and dump her again if tomorrow need arises, he was raised by his mom to be this way.

Haishen Jun 10 2023 9:13 am This drama was sooo Good, been waiting for this every week and now it's done, sadly the 4 of them (Kang-Ho, Mi-joo together with their twins) didn't have that much screen time and bond as a family, hopefully they make a S2 or even a 4 or 6 episode about them having a happy life and spending together as family. However the last episode is a rollercoaster ride and I felt that it was rushed in the ending. Though Kang-Ho's mom death is very unexpected it also hurted me so much because Young Soon had a very big character development, well it's also written in the title that it was about Her being a Good and Bad mother. But the whole drama was so good, the whole neighborhood is very heart wellmi

It is not only focus on family matter but also a strong connection between mother and son. Waiting like about 30 mins for the last episode tonight, I predict that the revenge part will be smooth, full of strategy and not over like most of K Dramas. The full pact of character is in the drama, from serious love(able) protective funny cheerful comforting unexpected so on. Everything is in this drama. One of my favorite healing drama after my working hours in middle of rush weekdays.

Even if it is found out later that they survived he DID try to kill them and his stoney facial expression was cold and totally uncaring. How will the writer deal with that crime of the male lead character? If the writer conveniently ignores it later wouldn't that be evidence of lazy writing? Characters should always face comeuppance for their crimes or attempted crimes.

Suzanne Jun 02 2023 7:41 am What a delight, except that I’ve binge-watched & I’m not getting any work done. I love all of the characters, too many to name. The writing, acting & directing are superb. The only fault is stating how intelligent pigs are at the beginning & then showing Young-soon lovingly raising pigs, as if she’s treating them like her own beloved children before having them slaughtered. Plus the mothers are never shown being able to roam in grass & dirt, but forced to exist in tight steel crates, which restricts all movements. I can’t imagine being an intelligent animal (or any animal) & being forced to exist like that. Besides how the treatment of animals being portrayed as humane, I loved everything else about this drama.

Mijoo and samshik together make a funny investigative duo or partners , not couple partners but friends because of their antics.

It was always clear show will do half arsed mental gymnastics to justify young soon's craziness, so not gonna say much but the way they absolved kang ho for abandoning mijoo and calling him a bigger victim than her was all so much bull sh.

What bothered me throughout the episode, in the scenes where ys explains to mijoo why kang ho did this that, she says he always had a painful life, miserable life, he was going through hard time during bar years, then when kang ho hugs mijoo she also says i never knew you were suffering more than me, you had a painful life.....and it was like it sounded like a joke. They were portraying kang ho having a painful life? But how? Kang ho's dad was gone before he was born he never suffered that trauma of seeing that happen and he was lucky, they were saying he always had painful life...like kang ho was never ill, he didn't suffer any injustice from humans for all those years, he didn't have serious financial issues, things he suffered were samshik's bullying at school and taunts of being a fatherless child - these 2 things are sadly common in korean society. He never had a painful life because of natural circumstances that it would be used as an excuse, he had a painful life because a psychotic mom who didn't have guts to herself go and avenge her husband started mentally torturing a 5 yr old child who never knew what happened to him. She made him live through hell by starving,beating him, by burning his precious things, by totally destroying or stepping on anything he really loved and wanted to do, by constantly teasing him for being fatherless, for being a son of poor pig farmer, she herself did this crap to her son in earlier episodes, she constantly tortured him for taking revenge for his dad as if he was born to take revenges. At times it felt he is the one who killed his dad and not the baddies.

She is the one who gave him a deprived super unhappy life and the audacity she is telling mijoo that he lived a hard life... like kang ho had no reason to be unhappy, she could have raised him as a moderately strict mom who wants him to excel academically , not going overboard with anything, telling him about his dad only when he grew up but not demanding any revenge, kang ho had everything that he needed for a normal happy teen life but YS ruined it all and then she makes a mouse like face and tells mijoo crying he had painful life as if she is a victim. Viewers are manipulated into believing that kang ho's dad's murder is what made him unhappy whilst we also know he says he never wants to take revenge for his dad, he is doing it for that his mom's constant crying.

Also it's very surprising why noone ever raised a question why would a parent or adult tell a minor child about a horrible murder of the same child's parent, even most cruelest people know what harm it could do to a child's mental health and here she was daily rubbing it in his face. I remember watching a show about similar village setup but from some other country where mother also tortures her son similarly, like 90pc of what young soon does, and her son runs away from home and then goes through series of bad incidents including child rape before someone helps him out.

Tsundere May 31 2023 5:00 am I enjoyed this drama for two reasons: first, their acting was excellent, and second, the story was appropriate for the title. Third, each episode is based on true events, such as a mother and son duo; the mother will never desert her son. Because of the sacrifice and her desire for the child's future stability, she will do and will do everything to ensure that her son has what he deserves. I appreciate this Krama, especially the mothers, whom I salute for the sacrifices they make for their children's future. Finally, not all love is romantic; you must also work hard for your future, and everything happens for a purpose. Politics is filthy, even if you are well educated and have a high level of intelligence. If you have a political bent, it might be detrimental to your career, especially if you misuse it. This Kdrama is highly recommended because it has a nice tale. Also, I appreciate caring for the pigs because they are incredibly clean and care about the environment, I wish all countries were like that.

If true then she is trying to ruin another person and btw such marriage victims can sue the frauds and scammers like young soon and get heavy compensation. Young soon's defenders will call this act of hers as motherly love too, I wonder will they say the same if someone does this fraud to them.

Also kang ho despite all his sad life doesn't deserve mijoo. He literally dumped her for a silly revenge and went ahead to marry another woman ,he can spend his life with his mom and pigs but mijoo shouldn't let herself be used again. No amount of agony justifies kang hos action, all that happened 30 years back, you were raised by an abuser, all your life you never had any good person in life except kind villagers but they can't be your family and now when true love came in mijoo, he uses her money and all help and then dumps her and didn't feel ashamed in paying her that tiny sun as compensation of all she did for years. At the end of day he proved he is young soon's son.

Also it's surprising how kang ho's mom still looks down on minoo and still thinks she is not at par with her son. Remember how happy she was that her son was marrying a rich man's daughter.

Kang. May 28 2023 12:20 pm I was right all along. I knew it was all part of Kang Ho’s. And that he’s the twins’ father. It was somehow predictable but I still find it very interesting. It’s not your typical kdrama where it’s mostly about romance, the mother-son tandem is a breather so as the twins. They’re very good actors, I commend Lee Do-Hyun for his acting. All the characters he portrayed has always been really good. I can’t wait for the next episode.

When workers were culling the pigs the villagers run to the place, the village chief literally slides down the slope and then falls down, it was the funniest of scene of the episode tho it was placed next to very sad scenes.

Also why funny music was playing when young soon was committing suicide.

Lalalalalala May 11 2023 7:46 pm I read some comments online and realized many people defending young soon's abuse were actually from similar abusive background, they were treated this way by parents and are probably doing that to their kids too, and they were abusing people online who were criticizing young soon, that reminded me of trolls attacking me here too which just shows people defend what their parents taught them and they want to carry the abuse over to next generations with the excuse of parenting.

Being cruel towards her son or even other people like mijoo is something that young soon has embedded deep into her psyche. Each episode she shocks viewers with how much enormous amount of love she has for pigs, maybe because pigs weren't able to revenge on her behalf so she didn't abuse them and she spends all her love and attention on them that was actually meant for her own child.

I recall I even mentioned before that she was such a small woman that she didn't even give mijoo kang ho's number and finally she apologized for it, imagine how horrible she is when mijok and villagers were people who were always helping her out. She did a good thing because kang ho being her son also ruined mijoo's life. Who cares about stupid revenge if you have a nice person in your life but kang ho had to do this.

Even though I blame much of kangho's bad deeds on his stupid mother the way she raised and tortured him one can't expect a good human to be born out of it, but lets accept it he also tells his mom she is raising him so bad to become like his dad's killers yet he goes on to do such wrong things. He has the sense to allow a positive person like mijoo in his life but with all kind of awareness of right or wrong he chose such path. She raised him wrong and her horrible upbringing ruined his mindset but the phase he spent with mijoo he was a mentally healthy and sane person then why he chose to do such wrong things knowing his idiot mother's revenge is a route he could only achieve by rolling in mud like his mom's actual favorites - the pigs.

Dunno why this drama is promoting wrong misconceptions, pigs can't be allowed inside your home like this and on top of all to shit, their bodies are riddled with parasites it's basically a recipe for diseases, the writers of this show went overboard in their love for pigs and infact they are going overboard in everything whether it's young soon's constant innovative abuse of kang ho, or stupid composer or affection for pigs or now adding another tragic plotline of disease when already drama was heavy.

Young soon has a twisted mindset, she does every kind thing for pigs but when it comes to human child she believes in all kind of cruel ways to teach him. He is getting 99 score on 100 starve him, he isn't eating himself due to paralysis, starve him, she has serious illness and son is still in this state so let him lie helpless on ground as a way to teach him to start walking, I wonder what this genius woman would suggest for his mental health? What new torturous methods she will invent to make him regain memories and grow back into adult mind because kang ho's biggest issue aren't his legs but his amnesia.

Young soon is solely responsible for her son's current state and accident. Had she not pushed the revenge nonsense for all those years he wouldn't have to go and mess with such dangerous people and end up like this. She didn't raise her son to fight for justice and weak as many her defenders write, just go back and watch early episodes, she was constantly telling him about revenge for his father and to become powerful and part of elite. A child raised on constant reminders of revenge shouldn't be expected to become a positive part of society.

Also the constant casual physical abuse of kang ho is disturbing. She starts beating him while driving, she can cause an accident then why the hell she beats someone who is in such state? This was supposed to be funny?

It seems the writers would make kang ho regain memories before something happens to his mom because who else will they send him to to be taken care of, all the villagers are already old and chairman song won't bother that much.

Lastly, samshik he abused kang ho all his life for not having a dad ,for having a pig farm, for being stinky, insults him at prosecutors' gathering and expects help?

Maybe after appointment he finds files of his dad's case and he finds out the mess and leaves her behind. Ep 5 was very weirdly edited, scenes would change abruptly. And why is that musician character added? What is his purpose. Are villagers really gonna deceive? What will kang ho do? Maybe that chairman song will take him with him.

It seems kang ho loved mijoo a lot and it remained a memory ingrained in him to the point that even after losing memory he gets feelings for her like how he remembers laws in between. What a sad life he had. It also seems since he joined prosecution he was on a suicide mission, destroy his enemies and get himself destroyed in process too.

He planned everything, and I believe Kang-ho is still a good person and wouldn’t kill anyone.I think he hid the mom and the child and it will be a witness against Song Woo-Byeok’s crimes in the end.

Also to make it clear, despite lot of issues it's a lovely show, Kang ho being the most likeable character.

2ndly, the excuse title is bad or something mother, she is not a bad mother she is a criminal mother. Starving your 5-13 yr old kid can actually run the parent into serious legal issues if they get reported.

Imagine you have a friend called x whose dad was dead before he was born. He turns 5, and his mom starts starving him from that age and tells him you will fall asleep on full stomach and lag in studies and won't become a prosecutor and you won't be able to avenge your father's death. Does it make sense?

Till this point writers actually showed that she was wrong but many viewers started defending this behavior.

Then when as an amnesia patient he cries for food it showed 7 yr old and i repeat Seven Year Old kid's trauma. Like imagine how much as a 7yr old he was abused that his mind has such severe trauma for food. Luckily he overcomes that trauma as she helps and it takes her 35 year old son to become paralyzed and have a mind of 7 yr old for her to realize what she had done. For severe trauma patients like kang ho the repeat of same situation that caused the trauma forces them back into it. So the fact she starves him again...is just so unbelievable, ep 3 was a very hard watch. Earlier writers showed starving as bad but this time they were justifying it by playing funny bg music and stuff and maybe that was done also to force yet another comparison between pigs and humans.

Honestly, I don't think young soon needed a child, her pigs were enough for her to go through her life. She raised him bad, ruined his life and gave society an apparently rotten prosecutor. And if you want revenge get it yourself.

Also I dunno it's a korean society thing or just dramas but korean dramas always show mothers beating their grown up 20s, 30s children and most people take that abuse as comical but it was very disturbing in this show and doctor cha, here when she beats kang ho so brutally and he already has a spinal injury and you can't touch such patients like this and in doctor cha where a pregnant cancer patient's mom beats her pregnant and ill daughter in hospital because she wants to keep the baby.

Starving her son, beating a disabled child and telling him i taught you to helpo thers in need and be kind when she tells him to abandon injured mijoo on road and then in same scene she also tells him crying i told you to be rich and powerful or something, does she know prosecutors' salaries? They can never be rich in them unless they take bribes. She is such a vile.

It was quite clear form ep 4 that poor kang ho had left home and he was supporting himself and studying and most likely had very little contact and no financial help from his bitchmom. Then Mijoo supports and helps him during this.

When twins had appeared first it had felt super odd but now seeing kang ho as a kid it makes sense they were added as comedic part and to be a friend to him in future.

So prolly kang ho dumps mijoo because he might have thought if he has to live for revenge it will harm her,and mijoo for his career didn't tell him about kids and hates him for abandoning her.

The show has weird parallels too, like kang ho gets a disable guy charged he becomes disable too. The twins scaring him about their super scary dad which is probably he himself. Kangho bonding with kids and kids helping him in his phase and they will be his own kids.

Ye jin, seo jin, kang ho together and village folks really carrying this drama. I am so scared given the kind of person young soon is what would she do once she discovers twins are her grandkids, most likely she would force him to abandon them. In present timeline it seems mijoo doesn't know about kang ho's accident.

Comparisons between pigs and humans are so forced I dunno why writers are obsessed with pigs, she is a pig farmer and that should be enough for the story, every 2 seconds later there pops in some comparison with pigs.

Did you guys notice mijoo tells kangho that your mom didn't give me your number.

The good bad mother (Ra Mi-Ran) really portrays her character well, I think it is because she really wanted to give justice to her husband’s death that’s why she really pushed Kang Ho to be a prosecutor. She did all of that just to end up having a bad relationship with his son. And I think Kang Ho already knew about his father’s death and it was all part of his plan to be adopted by his father’s killer until the accident happened. That’s just my guess. Anyway, I’m still watching ep. 3

Accident itself and falling in ditch wasn't unreal but the planning was unrealistic

Anyways, this drama is so good you want it to drop all episodes together but you know it would only happen if it's netflix and if it's netflix then drama's episodes wouldn't be more than 8-10 and most of all every episodes duration would be very short.

Lalalalal Apr 30 2023 9:02 am What irks me more about kang ho mom is that she gets all the help from villagers one would get as a single woman and mom running her business, like you can see how they help her in childbirth how they help her in cooking meal for fiance, how they come for her on all ocassions of need but it is so shocking that despite all the help when one of the child of these neighbours gets into a bad accident she tells her son he shpuld have left her there to be helped by someone else, like people even come forward to help injured animals on street and she is the girl from family who had been with her through her thick and thin and she is telling her son that. When you need help get it when they need help abandon them.

His mom and chairman song are same people with different faces and names. She did a lot of abuse on her son but this scene was so shocking that how can someone be so cruel. When a character is shown as a villain from start people hate them for every single action but if a character is shown to be a main lead or central character even if they do worst of worst things people would defend them which they would otherwise be calling for severe punishments if they were shown as villains, his mom did every wrong thing to her son but people are still calling her victim, how is it kang hos fault what happened to his father? Even other uneducated villagers in the town didn't treat their kids like her.

Noone was following them throughout the journey and when for 10 seconds she is off the car suddenly someone appears with a giant truck on an empty road and hits them, it's like it is a toy truck that can be moved quickly to any location and suddenly released on road when conditions are right to hit the car. And noone was tailing them in a car or anything. Atleast make it believable even if it is a drama as it was clearly a planned murder and not random accident.

Kang ho's mom is the bitchiest thing you would find in any drama. Now look at it firstly for revenge for her husband she gives him super abusive and terrible childhood, she doesn't even let him eat fully, like what parent deprives their child of food? Only psychopaths and druggie or alcoholic parents do this,

Like imagine starving a kid. Then she goes extra lengths in raising him bereft of any sympathy for example mijoo's accident where she tells him to leave a neighbourhood girl who she saw growing up before her eyes and should be like a daughter to her,injured on the road, like mijoo is not even a stranger, kind of family and this witch of a woman is okay with her lying on road badly injured like this  and with this mindset she expects him to be icon of justice. She was raising a monster just like killers then if not enough she even tells a child that it's your responsibility to bring justice to dad,like how is it a kid's or when he is adult, his responsibility to even do that? Like why are you giving birth to a child for your revenge.

When kang ho was telling corrupt chairman song he never had a childhood, friends, never played games, chairman song asks why? And then kang ho responds because I had to meet you which leaves song surprised but then kang ho changes topic. This was such a powerful dialogue because it encapsulated entire msiery of kangho, It showed he knew who his father's killers were, he feels painful and admits that he was made to lose his childhood because his mom was obsessed with him to meet the culprits and for those bad men and a psycho mom he was deprived of a beautiful childhood.

It showed his entire life misery. And now when he goes around asking everyone to become his dad, although for his plan but it is so disgraceful and lacking dignity. Why is he forced into this misery, just because of his psycho mom.

His mom is a monster and it's weird how politely she talks to people but what she did to her son.

How would anyone expect a person raised like kang ho to become a person of good character.

Now another ironic part is that she knows that people who murdered and covered up her husband's murder were in cahoots with government, she knows they are too powerful that what her son a weak guy could do against then,infact if anything she will be exposing him to huge danger by sending a no background son like hers to face such horrible people and this is exactly what happened. To try to get revenge for mom he ends up getting almost killed by same culprits. Like she isn't thoughtful enough to think of his saftey.

Through amnesia he will have a new life which will be better for him.

My biggest issue is that this drama will never show his mom's wrongdoings as they should be, viewers will also always justify her super cruelty because his mom's character is not written to be a villain by storywritters and hence this abuse will be excused. I think his mom is little behind moon dong eun of glory's mom but since she was a clear villain she got worst curses but as kang ho's mom is not a villain she will be excused of all the cruelty which is almost near what moon dong eun's mom did.

The villagers are very nice people. Didn't mijoo have elder sisters where are they, and her dad where he went, will he come back.

Show is very unique and well written.
