Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki Staff ©
Chisa Matsuoka (Alice Hirose) is a promising lawyer at the nation's top law firm. One day, a senior partner at her law firm assigns her to a retrial case. The case involves a man who was convicted for the
kidnapping and murder a young girl in Kagawa Prefecture 21 years ago. Around that time, there were 2 other kidnappings cases involving girls, but those cases were never solved. Chisa Matsuoka was one of the victims in the other kidnapping cases. For the retrial case, Chisa Matsuoka goes back to her hometown for the first time in 10 years.
She investigates the retrial case and the 2 kidnapping cases with the help of Lawyer Hiroki from a local law firm. Her investigation tells her that there is a high possibility that the 3 cases were committed by the same person. She confronts the suspect Satoshi Hirayama (Yukiya Kitamura) who could be the kidnapper and may have tried to kill her. Satoshi Hirayama maintains his innocence. She questions herself on whether she believes him and agonizes over her duties as his lawyer and her own past.
Meanwhile, Yoshio Arimori (Eiji Okuda) is an ex-detective who worked on the girl's kidnapping and murder case from 21 years ago. He now works for a victim support center and he still believes Satoshi Hirayama is the culprit in the kidnapping cases.
