Lee Tang (Choi Woo-Sik) is an ordinary university student. While he works his part-time job at a convenience store, he gets into a fight with a rude drunk man and accidentally kills him. He is terrified that he killed a person and his life could be ruined. It turns out the dead man is a serial killer and he has been wanted for the past 4 years. Lee Tang realizes that he has a special ability to recognize bad people who deserve to die. Lee Tang soon becomes a serial murderer to kill these evil people. Detective Jang Nan-Gam (Son Suk-Ku) investigates a murder case committed by Lee Tang. His instincts as a detective leads him to suspect Lee Tang as the killer. Meanwhile, Song Chon (Lee Hee-Jun) is an ex-detective who chase after Lee Tang alone.

Kdrama llama Apr 26 2026 1:14 am Imagine being a normal nobody, struggling to find you place in the world and then accidentally finding out your special skill was murder, that’s Choi Woo Shik here! And yet somehow the audience winds up rooting for this vulnerable, anxious and somewhat reluctantly murderous antihero… What a performance. Son suk ku’s gum chewing cop doggedly on the killer’s tail is totally compelling too. Watch it if you’re in the mood for a gritty cop drama, you won’t regret it.

RM Sep 29 2025 9:31 pm Nope. First of all, I'm getting fed up with seeing all the characters smoking like crazy in those Netflix K-dramas. This sets a bad example. Besides that, the show itself could have been great if they hadn't suddenly added a new character out of nowhere, which changed the whole story. They should have kept the original storyline with Lee Kang killing the bad guys. .

Brian V Sep 05 2025 6:05 pm I'm on the third episode, and listening to Son Suk-Ku loudy chew his gum is irritating to the point that I can't watch this show. When Koreans eat , and slurp their noodles, slurp their beverages, slurp whatever liquid that goes into their mouths, it's irritating, but the scenes are brief. The gum smacking is constant from scene to scene, at least in episode three.

I really like Son Suk-Ku, who I always refer to as Mr. Gu, from My Liberation Notes, but enough already. It's not his fault, it's the directors fault, but still, enough.

The plot has been great, and I find this show very entertaining, if only it didn't irritate me.

I find KDrama's becoming more an more difficult to watch, with the bouncing subtitles from the bottom of the screen to the top, at such unexpected moments, causing me to rewind, and disrupting the flow of the show. As well as aforementioned loud eating scenes, the obligatory, way too drunk to get home unassisted scenes, and the really weird kopiko coffee candy ads tied into the show. Oh it's so yummy, wow, I'm so awake now, LMAO!!

Don't forget to have a police officer in the background regurgitating at the crime scenes, always lovely to see, sigh.

I'm just frustrated by the gum chewing, and I'm really enjoying this story otherwise. Please directors, think about the viewer beyond the story.

The episodes have a style I did not see often yet, that makes it very interesting to watch IMO. I nearly binge-watched it because I wanted to know what happens next. :)

Song Chan's introduction was totally unnecessary as it took away the focus away from the main character and his plot was just really stretched and didn't make much sense. Just to bring justice? Like, i was expecting a life morale or something. Andd why the dog has to be a labrador??? Can't they bring another breed dog that suits to be suspected of a murder, maybe a bully like pitbull or something?? Labradors Are The Friendliest Dog looll hands down to Choi Woo-Sik and Son Suk-Ku, they are the pillars of this drama!

Aozora Feb 19 2024 7:35 am I did not watch too many series lately, but as I can remember this is the best show I have watched recently. I remember I tried the Sweet Home Season 2, but could not continue as I found it boring. A proof that big budget does not guarantee a good show.

No spoiler here.

First, the writing and the directing are top notch. They managed to combine thriller, slice of life, tragedy and comedy into one good package. Kudos.

Then, the eight episode also makes this show perfect as it is not tiresomely long-winded with too many subplots cut here and there as many Kdramas do these days.

Special mention is the Roh Bin character that is well written and very likable.

Woow Feb 13 2024 9:24 pm I am not a fan of lot of things done in the drama, like lot of main characters didn't have proper background provided, editing was not great, scenes would change suddenly, mainly you would feel lot of things are missing which is backstories of characters and even if backstory is there it is weak or half baked. Like look at namgam talking about dad scodling then suddenly that story stopped there, we had no clue what happened , how old namgam was when his dad was injured, how his dad teated him as a grown up man, what was his relationship with him at home, like what were writers and editors thinking when they skippes out such major part of show.

Then there was a scene where song chan is shown greeting teen namgam, like how did they meet whatvwas the point if that scene, this scene and many scenes would make viewer feel oh more scenes will come to explain them but nah nada nothing they would disappear in air.

This was all over the drama and made it feel a bit hollow, netflix generally does such botch ups a lot in korean shows to reduce the length of show, they should add more episodes and not effect the story.

Other thing which didn't feel great was more about plot, it was not comfortable to see was that lee tang started his murders just by doing them randomly, like except school guys' murders, murders ge did before were done just like that, but then he is told by roh bin you have some powers and then suddenly this guy starts murdering people in cold blood. From being a murderer to now acting like some justice warrior was hypocritical.

Now the direction, production quality were all good, true winners here were son suk gyu, hee joon, kim yo han and also many cop actors from the station, they stole all the limelight with acting and screen presence.

Although it gives a hint of supernatural/mystery thriller it actually made me re think the times we pass by or meet some people and we are left with an unpleasant and uncomportable feeling! The direction was excellent especially at the "dark" scenes where it seemed a little like a scene out of an anime book! The actors were amazing and especially Choi Woo Sik! This guy is chameleon it seems he can pass from funny cute roles to the dark psycho assasin with no effort at all! Especially in the second kind it sends chills down my spine because of his baby face! I hope will get season 2 (9.5/10) .

I would rate 10/10 for the first 6 episodes, but perhaps you need to wrap things up in the last 2, I felt things were a bit rushed and earlier leads were followed through enough, eg Tang’s psychological state and his change. Overall I would still give this a solid 8.5.

However, it can be challenging to keep up with the plot at times, especially with the frequent introduction of new characters seemingly out of nowhere. Choi Woo Sik delivers a commendable performance, while Kim Yo Han* Roh Bin showcase new dimensions of their talent, which is fantastic to see. Unfortunately, Son Suk Ku's portrayal falls short, leaving doubts about his acting abilities and failing to impress. On the other hand, Lee Hee Jun*Song Choon deliver exceptional performances, adding depth to the storyline with their acting prowess. Cant wait for season 2 . I bet season two Son Suk Ku will be one of them to join the killer! Hope Season 2 will be as best as season 1

I don't know why Roh Bin turned out to be a righteous man in the end when it all started by him. It doesn't help that this drama was released alongside with A Shop for Killers. 6/10

PANDORA Feb 11 2024 1:49 pm Just finished the series - absolutely incredible. The way the show was filmed is my favourite way I’ve seen, one second it’s calm the next it’s a bloodbath. I’m loving these 8-episode series (ex. A Shop for Killers), they tell the story perfectly without dragging or nor fast pacing it. Don’t even get me started on the acting, absolute killer from Choi Woo-shik and Son Sokku. 9.5/10!!!

To mina Feb 11 2024 11:28 am I can only speak for myself but if I were to compare to the nudity scene in ep 1 to say the nudity scene in ep 5, one clearly adds to the plot while the other doesn’t. If anything they could’ve made the one in ep 5 more graphic to really get the point across. So while yes there’s a warning about the content, it feels like a cheap way to get views right off the bat because it didn’t add anything to the plot. I’d like to think that’s what these people are so concerned about since they’re only talking about ep 1. And as for the murders, the show is about killers so it makes sense to have graphic killings and therefore it’s not a big deal

But people keep looking for him, i think he try the best to have a normal life. It is good to see that he is a loyal friend. I also like the ending...especially for the dog. Overall this drama is good 9/10. Happy to watch CWS & SSK acting together. Daebakk...!

I guess you aren't uncomfortable with this fact, you are particularly uncomfortable with the recent 'unnecessary political propaganda' as you called it clearly stating you as a misogynistic and homophobic, because this change in the status quo was gained after decades of blood and fight which forced giant business to pay attention.

I'll watch this series. I do understand aimed audiences and choose what to watch considering that, not blaming on others likes.

You know, some people don't like the unnecessary political propaganda that Hollywood has recently tried to shove onto the audience, especially to younger people. They don't need to be contaminated by this propaganda.

Watching a violent drama about a serial killer is okay but 30 seconds of simulated sexuality onscreen is where you draw the line? Like you’ll happily watch a guy get bludgeoned to death but heaven forbid you see some breasts. Was the scene unnecessary? Yes. But the drama is labeled mature and Netflix includes content warnings for overly sensitive viewers. We were properly warned about the content.

Anyway, that is the only graphic sex scene in the whole drama so, people who hate sex scenes don’t need to worry after episode one.

Ji Feb 11 2024 3:51 am I had to rewatch ep 4 (I think) because I missed how the detective connected everything to Lee Tang, but I didn't find it. I think I also missed why Song chon's so determine to kill Lee Tang. I'm not sure if I watched everything since Lee Tang met Robin. I've so many questions. Hahaha

Overall the show started good, but yeah..kinda missed some parts in the second part which made me failed to understand some stuff. It feels like I'm watching an extended movie. Not so bad. Wooshik and Sukku portrayed their characters really well.

I love watching Kdramas because they focus on the storyline so well. They can deliver excellent tv without adding unecessary nudity or sex.... the fact strong emotions can be felt with only a single peck on the lips at the end of the series. I'm extremely disappointed in this one episode.

The first half of the series made some sense, but I don’t know what the latter half was meant to achieve. It was almost like the show was made by 2 different people. There were certain scenes that mirrored each other so I expected them to foreshadow some big reveal later on, but what we actually got was something different and unrelated imo. I also felt like after Roh Bin was introduced, they edited out a lot of stuff so each episode felt like they were missing a scene and the plot felt rushed. And I couldn’t understand why and how Nam Gam or Song Chon became fixated on Lee Tang so quickly.

However, I’m not sensitive to stuff like that so it didn’t bother me. It might bother others though. Anyway, the series wasn’t a dark comedy like I expected (idk why I did), but it was still entertaining. All the actors were wonderful and I will definitely be recommending the drama to my friends who like darker dramas.
