3 mothers, who come from different backgrounds, compete fiercely on social media over who is happier. The mothers are Song Jeong-A (Jin Seo-Yeon), Kim Na-Young (Cha Ye-Ryun) and Oh Yoo-Jin (Park Hyo-Joo). Meanwhile, Hwang Ji-Ye (Woo Jung-Won) is a working mom and she works for a bank. She is not one of the 3 women competing in the happiness battle, but she is able to see them from up close. One of those 3 mothers then experiences a mysterious death. Somehow, Jang Mi-Ho (Lee El) jumps into the mothers’ social media happiness battle to reveal the secret behind them. Jang Mi-Ho works in the marketing department for a bank as an assistant manager. She has a reasonable personality and doesn’t like having deep relationships with people.

I know it’s for the sake of the drama, but in the last episode, she could have just yelled for the security guard’s help when he was just outside the entrance, instead of muuuuccchhhh later. Gosh.

Park Min May 04 2024 7:38 pm Having a plot around mothers competing on social media over whose life is the happiest is such a dystopian sad present we currently live in. The concept itself was limit testing my cringe-o-meter really hard but luckily the mystery plot took over after 2 episodes. This drama was very similar to Green Mothers' Club (2022), it started with a group of housewives/residents living in their fancy neighborhood until it turns into a mystery plot after a few episodes. The mystery itself here was limited, swinging between who's the killer and digging up the past, however, it wasn't enough to fill 16 episodes and was often stretching each event really thin. Most of the characters were trashy which made it hard to sympathize with when they were given a turn over and a resolution. For a plot around who done it mystery, usually we get a handful of suspects with good motives but in this drama most of the suspects had a weak motivation and their attempt to play innocent was rather unconvincing. One thing that bothered me was how the drama never addressed the big daughter properly after her initial introduction and purpose, which was kinda important for the narrative. In fact, most relationships between the characters were given a half-arsed follow up and resolution, leading to an unacceptable wrap up.

Loveeee it Jul 30 2023 2:32 am I think the drama needed two more episodes to explain yujin‘s life after she came back to her mom. But everyone got their perfect ending.

I love how they show how bad it is to be ignorant. I think the problem really like a vicious circle, cos there’s always reasons behind someone conscious snd unconscious behavior. Glad that Miho ended it and accepted/regretted how ignorant she was, especially for how bad Yujin was treated by her mom.

Lee El really did justice to Miho‘s character. She’s a fighter, no matter how reckless and uneducated she was at that kind of family matter.

King Pup 1722 Jul 29 2023 2:48 am Watched this on Amazon Prime because of Lee El and Jin Seo-Yeon. They aren’t the top top actresses but I’ve always had a soft spot for them, lol.

This series portrays the backstabbing and vicious behavior that might take place underneath the veneer of apparently well educated and successful group of neighbors living in an expensive neighbourhood.

Park Hyo-Joo was excellent in her role as a conniving lady whose hobby seems to be collecting proof of her neighbors’ misdeeds and weaknesses, and pressuring others to do her will or give in to her, though it’s never explained why she’s behaving that way. Although it seems that she’s doing it mainly so that she doesn’t lose out to the other neighbourhood ladies, for the popularity of their social media posts.

Lee El’s role was (to me) a little infuriating. She’s portrayed as someone who isn’t liked very much by co-workers because she’s aloof, and yet underneath her aloof behavior, she’s a low level loser and timid. This “loser” personality needs to be highlighted because she somehow managed to rouse up enough courage to stubbornly keep investigating into the mysterious death of Park Hyo-Joo who turns out to be her long disconnected step-sister.

Lee Gyu-Han nailed it in his role as a scoundrel, living a double life as a respectable doctor with a penchant for younger girls. The story suggests that he was pushed over the limit by his wife Hyo-Joo’s incidents of irrational behavior that others were plotting against her, and her insistence on presenting a perfect life on social media.

All in all, it’s an enjoyable watch!

Bebe Jul 25 2023 4:35 am I heard a lot about green mothers club after this show aired, so i watched few episodes of it and realized this show is indeed very similar to it, even actress playing hwang ye ji was also in that drama, and the way hwang ye ji would eat greedily was also like 1 cousin character in gmc, so this drama indeed is very much made on similar theme and even characters but with different personal stories, gmc was a jtbc show and this was for ena and interestingly the cast of this show even promoted this drama on jtbc in knowing brothers.

Having said that this show is great and albeit has similar theme it is done well and hold it's own. Frankly i don't mind more such shows with interesting scenarios and personal stories and good casts.

So watch both green mothers' club and happiness battle both are good shows.

Good drama! Jul 21 2023 9:16 am Although people are annoyed with Mi-Ho, she is just another character who wants to achieve justice and will do anything to protect the children also. This is really a good drama from start to end. If you want something that is not the usual romcom, try this one. Each episode is full of mixed emotions specially with the good acting of the characters. Good job! I want to see the cast more in other series and Kang Do Jun (Lee Gyu Han) is in the next series - Longing for you.

When yu jin's mom tells miho everything about yujin post yujin slandering miho and getting kicked out of that house, she says she lived a bad life in her real mom's house, but by what she said did she mean that yujin was also forced to prostitute herself by her mother because the way she was howling about her bad life l, this is the thought that came to mind and if yujin wasn't forced into such shady stuff then even though she didn't have a best life but it wasn't bad either, her mom also had a responsibility towards her daughter, also the entire tragedy happened because of yujin , the way she went full psycho so she and her mom can't blame others for yujin getting kicked out and stuff. But was yujin also forced into same profession as her mom?

Kept waiting since the reveal of her 1st marriage, who was yujin's 1st husband. Is it me or others also feel that we kept waiting for details on yujin's previous life. Had thought they will show how she met 1st guy, how they married and had a baby, why she left him and abandoned her own daughter to her mother who is such kind of person, then how she met this rich doctor, how she got rich enough or created a sophisticated image that a rich guy married her, like everything about yujjn's past which was important to be shared was left out.

Leaving the 3rd daughter behind was such a bad idea, wish she was shown moving in with aunt too or something about he safety. She was living a horrible life with grandma.

Finally,this show always kept viewers on toes. Extremely awesone show, made you sad at times,didn't feel much for yujin or her husband. Both were bad parents and if he had weird fetishes she had her own twisted fetishes like bullying people, destroying families, blackmailing etc. And when she was holding knife on her husband who is also super angry who would provoke someone like that and she was provoking him again with his manhood taunts, and there he goes stabbing her. Miho also was a very reckless person,the amount of chaos she caused by herself walking senselessly into dangerous situations was quite a lot. The twists were never ending , always kept you restless,extemely well made and underrated show.

Lee kyu han was phenomenal, he really got a role to shine, lee el was extremely good to the point of being addictive, she should do more such roles, solo leads, she really embodied miho so well. Show and cast were great she made them much much better with her performance.

So i remember few episodes back writing here about yujin's daughter getting scared of the wand on stage and asking the question is he the real dad of girls. So at that time there was this feeling given intentionally by drama writers that he has abused or done something to yujin's daughter but didn't know it will be about another abandoned daughter whom he will approach as a sugar daddy.

Did you guys notice the irony? Remember on night of yujins murder when miho is at door she screams at her saying all happened because of you. The irony is thay yujin had falsely accused miho of having affair with her step dad that is yujin's dad but it came out true with her own daughter and her daughter's step father. Maybe that is why she blamed it on miho that night that it is your fault.

Yujin herself is a very vile person, no doubt she was wronged badly by miho's mom, she should have told the truth about their affair to miho but instead what she did? After pushing miho before the car after slandering her she expected miho's mom will accept even if she was a good human? Noone will accept someone so toxic.

Then the way yujin was living her new life was exactly like things she did in past. She even blames hwang ye ji's daughter for hitting and scaring her daughter when she knew what was the reason, if as an adult you are treating a 5 yr old like this then you surely are a vilest creature, she was constantly digging dirt and threatening women in the community, she was going to smear miho's reputation once again. No sympathies for a trash like her and her husband and even her trashy real mom. Like your husband divorced you and from alimony she starts a hostess bar business and blames others for doing that work, pretty sure she could have used that money wisely into some other business. And if her husband had done her dirty why she treated her daughter and grand daughter so badly. She was simply trying to put all blames on miho's mom and yujins dad and wash her hands off all the blames.

The true victims in all of this are 3 daughters of yujin. Eldest having it worst.

Now what makes one curious is did kang do jun approach the girl knowing she is yujin's daughter and also because he knew the things yujin did in past to miho, so he was doing the same thing in real or was it coincidence. Anyways, don't care about murder of trash like yujin, want to see what happens to her daughters and who will take their custody. Will miho sacrifice her life to raise them or will just act as an aunt who is there when they need her.

Jung ah's character was kinda lame most of the time, wish they wrote her better than how they did, actress who played or was so freaking good that one would wish she was as important to the show as miho. Hope jin so yeon gets her solo lead show she deserces lot more than supporting roles.

The director does a really good job of suspense and playing with the audience’s minds. There are twists in every episode it’s unpredictable. If you are into thrillers, mystery, or suspenseful shows, watch this! I also like the added bits of romance, it helps calm the mood when Miho is doing something dumb and it looks like someone is about to die lol.

So far, I am pretty convinced that Yujin and Dojoon attempted to loll themselves. They both are pretty crazy and two crazy people getting drunk with knives seems like it could add up to death.. I don’t think anyone else could’ve killed Yujin because Dojun only said he heard the door open once which was Miho.. or was that someone else? I don’t exactly remember what time Miho went to Yujin’s appt. but now that I am thinking about it, it might be someone else. If that is the case, I think Dojoon would’ve asked someone to come kill Yujin. He could easily blame the doorbell on Miho and since everyone believes him, the suspect wouldn’t be suspected. He also doesn’t have any bad feelings about Yujin’s death. He didn’t grieve her death for even one day! Since he woke up, he has been on a move.. very suspicious.. I saw comments about Lim Dayeon and I do consider her to be a possible suspect. It is interesting that she is the only one with long hair apart from Yujin. I can’t remember what episode but she said “dont make me have to do stuff” or something like that meaning that she ends whatever she thinks is bad. Perhaps Yujin was blackmailing her too so she decided to end Yujin before she started trouble? I am hoping it’s not but being one out of two to have long hair does make her look like she has some sort of deeper connection with Yujin/ Dojoon. I don’t think it’s that her husband had an affair with Dayeon, though.. It seems that Dojoon goes from young girls. Also, is it just me or is Jin Seob too interested in her life? I get that he likes her but why is he participating in her life so much?? It’s annoying! From the beginning, I haven’t had a good feeling about him. I want to like him but, for some reason, I just can’t. His involvement makes me think that he also has some weird past or that he has also done bad things. On that note, I also find the grandpa very annoying. Why is he always doing things in a rush. If he can’t take care of the girls then he should stop taking them. I hate how Dojoon just orders his dad to do this and that. The girls are not safe! Anyways, I love the show. :)

Lim da eun looks sus now, she doesn't live in the same building isn't it? And her son goes to different school,it seems jung ah said something like that in the washroom at the event planned to kick out little girls.

More than anyone the person coming out suspicious is yujins husband. Seems like either she attacked him for some reason and they both stabbed each other. It could be her husband had an affair with lim da eun, the guy looks most suspicious of all and how he blamed miho.

Is he the real father of both girls or the eldest girl? There was some school event where yujins daughter falls down on stage when a girl raises a wand, was that any kind of abuse coming from their father?

The drama is great but there is an observation that so far it has been creating huge suspence around everyone's stories and painting them as too huge when they turn out pretty much duds or not so big deal ones. Like yujin and miho's past story was shown as too ominous and albeit it was very bad but nothing close to the suspence. Much worse has been done in hwang ji ye' and jung ah's cases, she was made to look like some super awful villain but her secret is her adopted daughter. Similarly for jung ah it always seemed to be a huge deal with laptop screen flashing red colors in early episodes to suggest jung ah's dirty secret, which had made one think she is into some dark web sh.it or watches gruesome videos or has abused someone severely but turns out red lights were all from the club and her brother was the issue...like seriously ,so much build up for this?

Looking at the kind if rela stories writers have shown it seems yu jins murder reveal would also not be too shocking.

Having said that the show is really good, why people aren't watching it?

FiguringOut Jun 22 2023 4:43 pm After watching episode 8, I'm leaning towards Lim Da-Eun or Baek Sung-Hee as the possible murderers. In the episode 9 teaser, you can spot a woman in white with sleek hair to the right standing next to a man. The hair and nails definitely point in the direction of these two women. It's interesting to note that apart from Oh Yoo-Jin, only they have long hair in the series. However, I still can't figure out what the motive behind the killing could be.

More Jun 15 2023 2:24 pm They had built up suspence as something too big that happened between the sisters in the past, but it was kind of weird but not that damn big. From ep 6 past backstory it shows that yujin was always the vilest person, both step parents didn't do a good job in equally treating children, but yujin was always twisted and mentally sick. She asks miho to take those plastic things what were they? Condoms? It was both girls fault they should have jointly taken responsibility or yujin herself as she was the one who had asked her to steal and she wanted them. Then in playground mihoo's reaction wasn't wrong and then yujin starts hitting her and then that happens which was bad. Yujin had too much twistedness in her head which starts from when she tells miho your mom is hard on you because she is jealous of you growing up, then when she pushes like she pushes her sister before the car, and then what she does next in how she slanders miho and how she forces her to accept all that sh.it on gunpoint slandering her own dad in that too, one would ask yujin what was her dad's fault in all of it? He ends up attempting suicide and becoming ill for life,she destroys her dad and whole family for some absurd revenge for face wound, it is understandable her face wound was a major trauma for her and her wanting to hurt miho but what followed was too much like what happened to dad. It just showed she was always a vile and super twisted person and was too clever for neighourhood women to handle, she always lnew these twisted tactics and were used to them and were applying them on those women too, she was seriously a very dangerous and incorrigble person, inoorrigble because if we remember yujin in present was creating some new file against miho slandering to hurt her again. Total psycho.

Plate Jun 10 2023 2:45 pm Very good drama why not many people here? This one is really well made when i was expecting it to be boring like some usual mother' clubs and their kids dramas. Actress whose husband cheats needs to stop screaming in such annoying way , it gets so seriously annoying when she is screaming so much but so extremely loudly she blasts her whole throat, calm it down.

I don't think yujin is alive as i heard some people speculating that. No idea who is the killer but it could be that she stabbed the husband and comitted suicide or that her husband killed her and she stabbed him too or he tried to commit suicide afterwards. It seems yujin had dirty secrets on entire community and was blackmailing people. She was such a hideous person infact it was surprising how such rich women had time to fight over such petty nonsense things, like aren't such people more into spending money on clothes etc and splurging on vacations instead of getting into silly petty competitions with neighbourhood women, seen this thing only in korean dramas, i wonder if it is common in other parts of world too like in usa does that happen?

Lee el and that short haired actress from 1 the woman are doing such a perfect job. Lee el is actually quite good in scenes with her nieces. This show is a case of very good casting. Just the way lee el is acting i can watch the drama, also the guy playing her junior colleague his role is quite good but hopefully they stop using him just as an accessory who pops in for few minutes as a filler and instead he gets treated as someone more important in her life doing meaningful things.

Thando Jun 09 2023 11:41 am 4th episode in and I'm enjoying myself so far, I really hope that it maintains the excitement until the very end. It reminds me a lot of Green Mothers' Club just with the social media element added to it. I wonder though, if over time, the social media element will fade away and the focus will be solely placed on the characters' real lives. If so, then it will really become a Green Mothers' Club 2.0. Even if it is, I'll keep watching as long as it's good enough.
