Set in the early 1960's, a story that depicts the friendship and desires of Sam-Sik (Song Kang-Ho) and Kim San (Byun Yo-Han). Kim San graduated from the Korean military academy and then went to the United States to study economics at a university. He returns to South Korea with a dream to help turn the country into an important industrial nation. Sam-Sik appears in front Kim San around this time and says that he supports his dream.

episodes 10-16 are honestly a bit boring. many stories and scenes are repeated from the last episode. which the audience already understands without needing too many flashbacks.

but... this is of course a flashback drama between flashbacks.

I know very little about Korean history but it's very well explain and easy to follow all characters and their personal or political interests.

Interesting plot, great characters, nice photography and narrative, of course we don't need to write about acting... I mean main actors are Song Kang Ho and Byun Yo han, they are superb.
