Lee Hae-Jun (Kwak Dong-Yeon) transfers to a new middle school in an affluent area of Seoul. At his previous school, Lee Hae-Jun was the top ranked student in his grade. While going to his first day of class at his new school, he sees a girl leaning over a bridge. Thinking she may jump, he pulls her to the ground which she does not appreciate. Later that day, Lae Hae-Jun learns the girl he saw earlier is Jo Eun-Seo (Lee Yul-Eum). She's currently the top ranked student at his new school.

3 months later, with new test scores released, Lee Hae-Jun takes the top spot and bumps Jo Eun-Seo down to #2. Meanwhile, Jo Eun-Seo vows that Lee Hae-Jun won't beat her again. She recruits her classmate Jeong Na-Yeon (Lee Han-Na) to help her retake the top spot. Lee Hae-Jun finds himself falling for Jo Eun-Seo.

J Duane Robinson Jan 28 2022 11:53 am This was a great movie for students who find themselves alienated by students who will do anything to make it in our cut-throat educational system (unfortunately. MONEY has made most educational systems in this world all the same, throughout the 'civilized' world!).

The story is about a new male student, Lee Hae Joon (Kwak Dong Yeon) being bullied by the female top test scorer Jo Eun Seo (Lee Yeol Eum) in order for her to KEEP her number 1 position; however, he realizes that she is actually lonely and isolated due to her parents pushing her to excel in school.

His befriending her made her quit working on her scheme, but she doesn't realize, until it is too late, that the number 2 student in her class, who she thought was her supposed friend Jung Na Yeon (Lee Han Na), continued the harassment of Lee Hae Joon, without Jo Eun Seo's knowledge!

(The same way that the second seat of mathematics at his university was the one who turned Galileo Galilei into the Inquisition, and he moved up to the head seat at the university then!)

Lee Hae Joon did all the mean things that hurt Lee Hae Joon and allowed Jo Eun Seo to regain the top score; but Hae Joon didn't stop there...she started harassing Eun Seo so that she, too, would become discouraged...allowing her to "move up" again!

I liked this movie, but I wished they had made a drama out of it and develop the support characters more thoroughly. The music, cinematography, and cast all came together and performed well in this movie!

Just downloaded the whole movie and it brings back so many memories. Lucky to say I watched this ; what a wonderful drama that was light years ahead of its time. Shout out to the director, writer and all the actors; Daebak!!!!
