Detective Ha Eun-Joong meets bright and positive Woo A-Mi (Jo Yoon-Hee). Because of her, he becomes involved in a scandal. Detective Eun-Joong learns that his father is a kidnapper and kidnapped Eun-Joong.

mikan Dec 02 2022 6:43 pm I remember watching this back then and thinking how the male lead (ha eunjoong) has more chemistry with his half-sister (Jang joo-ha) than with the actual female lead (woo a-mi).

I love every eunjoong and jooha's interaction.

the scene in the car where Joo-ha realized they were half-sibling crushed me every time I remember.

meanwhile the female lead was very unmemorable lmao.

Lrt Jan 04 2021 2:55 am Bottom line... a long lost son teaches his real Dad how to be a decent human being. The story is filled with lust and greed for money and power by people you should be able to trust. It takes one person who believes in you to change your world. That's my message.

Choco Apr 23 2017 2:07 am Love the OST!! Omg I don't know how many times I played them.. Idk why but I don't think that Jang Tae Ha is really evil, actually at first, yes he is.. but after several episode I think Ha Myung Gun more evil, like when he indirectly killed A mi's husband .-.

The screenplay was probably one of the best I've ever seen.

Kim Jae Won nailed his character. You could see what a great guy he was from the way he interacted with the other characters.

Premise/storyline sounds a bit weird and a bit offputting (for me) but it all makes sense, in a good way.

What I truly love about this writer is that she steps outside of herself and writes 3 denominationally, touching on the good, the bad and the what could have happened.... if! Reality can be deeply sad, horribly bad or wondrously beautiful, I love Bae Yoo-Mi because she fearlessly embraces life for what it is, unpredictable! Love from NYC

Pammo Sep 21 2015 8:47 am I just finished this drama and I read the comment by Belle NJ. There are truly valid points to her statement but I want as many people as possible to view this drama. I did a marathon over 3 days and found the acting, writing, directing and character development extraordinary. I love Kim Jae Won in this drama and nothing about the story disappointed me because it was not the usual K Drama Cliche drama. At some point throughout the drama you despise the characters for immorality, lust, lack of moral fiber, In this cesspool of greed you wonder if anyone (except the two younger female characters) have any human redeemable traits. Even the lead character became despicable. However, without writing spoilers, the writers do a find job of developing what is family. At the end you can define the word for each character and that is why it is an exceptional drama.

Belle NJ Sep 12 2015 10:21 pm I have enjoyed this drama how it was made and the actors. In regard for the writer Bae Yoo-Mi is obviously very talented but her head seems to lack reality and justice. My mind left horrified watching Scandal a shocking and wrongful incident. How can a writer made a kidnapper a hero in this drama. Ha Myung-geun who was not only a kidnapper, but a selfish shameless man to the end, He end up dying not only without remorse or been punished, but also proud to say that if given the opportunity will make the same wrongful harmful choices without mentioning also dragged innocent people to their dead as well as keeping the wife by his side to the end....Really!!!!! and this man was a man of law? A good "man".... was justice served??? Then the dectective Eun-Joong, also a man who is suppose to serve find acceptable to break the law when convenient or serving his own interest (the batman child hacker), choose to embrace his abductor to the end failing to see that the choices of his abductor not only were wrong but also dragged people to their deaths, but still remain at 200 % thinking the only bad guy was his real father....Really? what about his mother and her part? not only she took an innocent orphan and mislead him to believe he was the real son to take revenge on her husband, then she choose to help the abductor of her child because he his dying why not but encouraging the abductor and living and celebrating the passing with his own son......shoudn't she had spent some time to seek for herself and her real son the help of a pys? I think that her motherhood skills are questionable. As dectective Eun-Joong choosing to remain to the end at the side of his abductor and wishing to be his child on his next life after knowing and seeing that his real dad will never let his son be punished for his wrong doing was also not right, How can he choose to go and visit his real dad with his heart been elsewhere. I guess just like his abductor he only see his own interest and needs first, his relationship with the girl he loved. The writer made Jang Tae-Ha to be a really bad man but after all at the end this man was willing to lose all knowingly that he real son was deceitful just so he can be his real father, at the end Eun Joong was not willing to lose anything for his real father, what a shame..... If the writer was so worried about the love story to end up well with Woo A-Mi, I think that once behind bar that was the part where Jang Tae-Ha would have gladly apologized to her in order to remove any obstacles for his son's love to be acceptable. Just like the fake son, was never punished for his wrongful acts. So the over all of the story was well though but unfortunately the writer thinks it is ok to kidnap people as long as you feel some type of "love", the writer thinks it is ok to drag people to their death because the kidnaper was not able to believe and help the justice to bring down the man responsible for the death of his child on his own, the writer thinks it is ok to have the victims lean on the kidnaper who played the innocent victim because after all Woo A-Mi lost her husband to be and child for a USB key. After watching this drama I felt sick that Ha Myung-geun was portrait as a good man because up to the end he didnt bring back Eun Joong to his right dad.

This is one of the best kdrama tHat i have ever watch.I never wach a drama with morethan 20 episodes but I gave tHis a try and I dont have regrets... Every episode was exciting...very good drama..

sunny Dec 24 2014 9:18 pm OMG I'm chocked after this drama. keep missing it since it's hard to find a masterpiece like this... -.- One of the Best K drama!!! I regret giving up on this drama after a few episodes even though I like KJW a lot since the opening scared me and first few episodes broke my heart. Since KJW doesn't come up with a new project and the drama seems to be popular, I continued watching it after a year or so. gosh it ripped my heart apart so many times. But it's such a beautiful drama. totally Recommend it. The best drama of Kim Jae Won ever!!! Love KJW <3

GG Deser Sep 24 2014 9:41 pm I am wondering if there is some reason why the colors yellow and blue are so predominant throughtout this whole series. At first I thought it was a quirk but after watching 17 episodes so far I believe that there are hundreds of scenes where these two colors are either put together deliberately (i.e., police cars, children's outfits and accessories, logos on businesses, business cards, notebooks and signs, etc.). I would love to know if the director did this deliberately or not. Also are these colors of any significance to Koreans in general? I am NOT Asian so not familiar with any traditional color choices but truthfully I love the combination of these two colors which is why I noticed in the first place. Thanks for any answers anyone provides.

Additionally, I LOVE this show and am a huge fan of.K-dramas, starting with the sageuks and now working my way through many of the contemporary dramas. Love every one I have seen and seriously a fan of all the actors/actresses, directors, and hope to see many more in the future.

Gage Mar 09 2014 3:12 am Ha Myung-Geun to me was even worse than Tae-ha. 1. He kidnapped a boy and ultimately almost gets killed by his real father. 2. He involved a soon to be husband and father In a situation that gets him killed. 3. He almost gets yoon-hee killed but her baby dies. so much more on his fault.

JC Dec 27 2013 9:27 pm This drama was so good I really enjoyed the storyline! The pitiful victim turns into the "bad guy" in a split moment of confusion and sets the tragedy in motion. Loved how it wasn't too drawn out and the secrets began to spill fairly early, very thrilling and tense. The story had the East of Eden x Feast of the Gods ironic family tragedy feel to it which I found really awesome.
