Plot

11-year-old Chan-yi is looking after his lovely younger sister So-yi, by himself ever since their mother left them to find her own future. Despite their desperate situation of being abandoned by family and neighbors, these kids try their best to carry on life. One day, a little puppy joins this small family as Chan-yi steals it from an old couple’s kennel as a gift his sister’s birthday. Especially clever, this dog, whose name is “Ma-eum”, returns the love received from his new family with great loyalty and it seems as though their happiness would continue forever…only until a sudden accident brings them into collapse.

Such a brilliant kid Yoo Seung Ho was. And what a great film! Dolly the dog is the most brilliant dog I've ever seen.

Lee hyung Nov 13 2013 1:57 am Absolutely devastating at the end! Great casting.. Brilliantly acted by Dolly.. Don't know whether she understands the movie like we do. But it was greatly trained and cute dog!! But sometimes i really think the movies that have dogs mustn't have pathetic ending,, Because every time you play it want to see a better ending.. The only happy ending dog movie i saw, is Bombon- El Perro an Argentine movie!! Whoever checks my comment please try and watch it.. there are few torrents available.. I do seldom watch asian movies but as i went over with this Korean film (the first ever Korean film I've seen), this is really superb! I salute first and foremost to the very very outstanding performance by the two kids and the dog of course, and another, to the excellent task of the director of this film as well as to the writer. Heart-touching as I may say. Tears flowed down from my eye-lids as the film goes in progress. From now on, I will be willing to search for good Korean movies because director/s produces a good one. I not fond of watching dramas but a bit of curiosity made me watched the film because of the title HEARTY PAWS. My deepest congratulations to the director of this movie. Though I am not Korean, but from now on I am going to love Korean movies. Thank you!
