gasenadi Jul 26 2025 1:31 am Rewatched this drama after many years bc it left such a lasting impression. Of course! Given who the Director and Screenwriter are, and their body of work, it's understandable. The themes and characters are complex. The plot kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat to the very last minute. The whole production is obviously a thoughtful collaboration by the entire staff. Even the ost was perfect - although I don't usually like English lyrics in my kdramas. Bravo, My Beautiful Bride. Til the next watch!

suissant May 16 2017 7:48 pm I heard this series received poor ratings which is sad. This is one of the best thriller/action/mystery series OCN have presented. I only watche korean tv dramas for this kind of show so I would know. Mastefully directed, well acted and a superb script. Recommended.

CKW Mar 19 2017 1:22 pm This show was a mess. I dropped it after the 3rd episode. The main character's stupidity and lies were unbearable to watch.

And why are people exaggerating Go Sung Hee's acting skills? If you consider her bad here, then what about the truly bad performances in kdramas?? She was fine here. She's far better than the likes of song popular actors/actresses like Lee Minho, Park Shinhye, etc.

That's quite amazing! Loved watching him then & still love it now. Needless to say this is such an awesome action drama. Thank you all who participated in making such a drama like this one. It's totally worth watching it even the 2nd time. Daebak!

kyu Nov 04 2016 10:59 am i honestly loved this drama and i'm planning to watch it again , and to me Ko Sung-Hee did well in this drama and you shouldn't judge it by the first ep , u should give it more of a try . i like the action and the fact the love seems really genuine . and I HAVE TO SAY I LOOOOVED ALL THE OSTS THEY ARE AMAZING SONGS

kraze Jun 08 2016 3:38 am story has hell lot of flaws..only good things abt the drama are Kim moo yul acting and action and the action scenes of drama..and flaws to begin with Lee si young has done really bad acting potraiyng the head cop..neither her body lanuage,tone of voice or expressions least convey this..and the other subordinate flower boy detective looks more like a school kid than the police..i dont understand why the head cop has to run everywhere without her team..and is mostly led by Kim moo yul..she has no initiative of her own..and the female lead role again is a very poor actress..n the character is so dumb she doesnot know that both times she leaves on her own..she could at least have informd her bf some manner so that he is saved from those dangers n desperaion..n the villains could have killed Kim mmo yul charater at so many instances but nowhere they do so even when he is being a thorn everywhere.. these all and so many scenes are so draggy and meaninglessly added just to prolong the drama

ilovekimmooyul Mar 23 2016 2:03 am oh shit this is the BEST action, crime and mystery that ive ever seen!!! this is better than the crime drama Last and Hidden Identity. it's full of mystery and a glimpse of romance/affection. i thought Kim Do Hyung (Kim Moo-Yul) will die in the end, good thing he didnt. but i suggest that they should close the ending after how many yrs later that Do Hyung and Joo Young are happily living together!!!!! this drama is soooooo amazing but the ending is kinda unsatisfaying.

nomi Oct 06 2015 4:22 am Fairly good drama.I think i have seen kim moo yul in others dramas too but i did't remember him for a long time.He did a good job in this one.Quite robotic expressions.The character suit him well alsolee si young and park hae joon with the rest of the cast did a good job. It was also my first drama of ko sung hee.After watching this one i am quite sure why korean drama fans criticize her so badly.... Since the time i have been watching k-dramas, i believe it to be the only country whose little childs can act like professionals.So the overall margin for errors is quite narrow when it comes to this level.She still needs a lot of improvements. As far as the storyline is concerned, it was good overall.It will engage you till the end but don't expect too much from it.There are still some loopholes left which mere 16 episodes cannot fullfill. I believe the OCN will take this matter into consideration. Hoping to see VP 3 soon....

Sunghee's acting from the beggining of nightwatchman was bad but in the middle to the end was good ,until now she maintain and improved better. The ending do hyung and jooyoung reunite again.Do hyung was not dead.Watch again the last episode and observe. I want Part 2 :)

He's one of my fav actor now! Flawless actor! KSH's acting was good af first but lacking in the middle of the drama, but still good. LSY's facial expressions was on point.

@neil: No, he didn't die. His heartbeat stopped a lil' bit in the hospital scene, but it was normal later.

Jan4 Sep 06 2015 5:17 pm The whole last episode was crap, with only few exceptions.... But the series itself is quite a killer, worth watching it again some time in the future. Though as a thriller it'll lose some charms.

I wonder so many people are hatin' on Ko Sung-hee. Her acting was not bad, she was way better than for example Lee Si-young which had quite the same expression all over the series. Btw my favourite scene (attention, little spoiler) was near the end when Secretary Kim was sitting in the restaurant saying "그럴래?" - yeah that saved the last episode for me :D but can someone tell me why he wasn't shown afterwards? Was he?? It was like nobody cared about him after this scene... Btw I think Chairman Kang was eating in every scene. He must've gained quite some weight during the show >.<

Aj Sep 06 2015 4:47 pm Super talented KMY leads a good cast and gives an outstanding performance as "The Bank Guy" ("What ARE You?") in this non-stop, breakneck, desperate search to save his fiancée. I had a great time watching, though I did gasp a lot and hide my eyes a few times. It's violent, heartbreaking, scary, yet classy and exciting. The songs are haunting, achingly beautiful.

However, my rating of 5 stars would be for KMY who carries 90% of this series. Though I loved his character's devotion to the fiancée, she wasn't very interesting, and I couldn't figure out what he saw in her. In fact, there was little chemistry between them. I thought wonderful LSY's strong, loyal, compassionate Captain was a better match for this really cool guy. And the finale, though satisfying, felt rushed like too many dramas. I continue to wonder why writers so often run out of steam when audiences have complained for years about rushed and/or unsatisfying endings.

Love it Aug 23 2015 6:52 am I really want you to watch this for 2 reason: The sensational acting of Kim Mu Yeol and for the best effective use of flashback romancing I’d ever seen in a drama! There was no question as you watched this, in believing that Do Hyung loved Joo Young. Some may call it an obsession. Yes, I can see why but when you are considering the fact that Do Hyung never knew real love ever in his life explains the obsession. This drama was damn near perfect and made me believe in true love !!

Lolo Aug 23 2015 6:27 am My favorite part was Do Hyung laughing because he was so in luuvvvvvvvvvvvvvv......awww..........I am not sure if there's more to his story but this episode showed why he will never let go of Joo Young. She is his happiness, his life. I think he never felt happy and never felt loved in his whole life till he met Joo Young. I guess what made that scene stand out was also because we rarely see a smiling Do Hyung, much less a laughing one. Gosh....KMY is driving me nuts.

TT Aug 23 2015 5:43 am I only found out yesterday that Ko Sung Hee was the actress in that weird outfit in Nightwatchman. Didn't catch that show but saw some not so good comments about her. Well, they could be talking about a totally different person from who I am seeing here. I think she is doing well in her role. I feel her fear, I empathize with her unfortunate background and I understand why she's torn between staying with her love and doing what's best for him.

Also the revelation of their love story is damn my heart melted..... I bet the guy also knows the lady but pretended not to recognise her. When he first saw her drenching wet and all, he stared at her as if he couldn't believe his eyes. It's as if someone he knew long time ago appeared again in front of him. And how she decided to help the police to get away from the grip of that creep because she met her first love is sooooooo sweet!!!! Very interesting storyline so far.

Somehow it reminds me of 'I Miss You' in the way it tried to blend melodrama and detective story. I didn't mean to say the have same quality, rather I think that IMY should be handled like MBB. My Beautiful Bride has also succeeded to restore my belief in action drama after 'Hidden Identity' failed to impress me. Good job, everyone.

jan Aug 22 2015 10:14 am ocn is a cable channel, the reason why not many people could watch it. also the reason why tv program survey companies can not easily post ratings. i've watched quite a number of ocn production online and i could say that, to me, they produce the best thriller programs. always keeping the viewers thinking and analyzing each episode and character.

I just like the romance stories in general but I do like the action with romance storyline also. The only thing missing here is more details about the couple Kim Do-Hyeong && Yoon Joo-Young ! I wanted to see more of them. I am now a fan for Kim Moo-Yul (I call him Matt Damon of Korea) and Ko Sung-Hee is good in his role. When I read the comments below, I said what's going on out there ?! They're making a nice couple, and she is (not ugly) nice !!! Fortunately, the end is happy but still not satisfying !! I would rate it 4 stars of 5 or 95% (This is my high rate so far for a Kdrama)

She came out over 2 years ago and got experience cuz she got 4 dramas. several months from now will mark third year for her as an actress....imo she really sucks at acting. No wonder she got bad reputation, very weak public appeal, fanbase too small. Everybody calling her horrible actress.

niques Aug 14 2015 4:49 pm I found this drama to be quite interesting but had some flaws in my personal opinion. I loved the storyline but there was a lot reminiscing, which felt more like filler than story.Some of the memories were repetitive and irrelevant. They could have replaced some of those memories with 'shameful' ones of JooYoung's adult life. I read some reviews that criticize particular cast members. At times I felt some of the cast didn't have enough emotion (or portray the situation correct), which does effect how I view this drama. "Getting better," "Rookie," etc. weighs 0 value when were talking about professionals of their field- so no excuse. Overall I would give this drama 4 stars.

Boon Ang Aug 14 2015 5:27 am I think this drama spans several genres: Thriller, Romance, and melodrama. As a thriller, the story is engaging and fast paced. From a romance perspective, the leads unconditional love for his beautifully blemished bride can be considered epic. Last but not least, the melodrama aspects of this story is moving. The acting by the male lead was quite good - brains, brawn, and compassionate in one role. I did not find Lee Si Young's acting very good. She was better in Valid Love. Also, I find her role did not fully exploit her boxing abilities. But, given time, matching roles, and opportunities, she has the potential to be a really good actress. Actress Ko Sung Hee turned in a good performance. In all, a good drama - Maybe 7/10?

Lisa Jul 30 2015 6:02 am I don't get why people desperately want romance between Do Hyeong and Yoon Mi just because they are the leads. The story resolves around Joo Young. She is what keeps the show running. Much like Go Eun Byul in School 2015 or Alison DiLaurentis in Pretty Little Liars. She may have not the title "Lead", but she is what keeps the show running. I don't think romance between them fits here. Honestly it would make me question Do Hyeong's character. I am fine with him not ending up with Joo Young because of her past, but throwing him another romance in form of Yoon Mi is weak. This is not what the show is about. This show is not about romance between Do Hyeon and Yoon Mi. It was never stated. The show resolves around Joo Young missing. This drama is good without any romance between the leads. It is not needed.

I think they are better than romantic comedy dramas of sbs or kbs main lead actng and fighting is beyond words....... best drama fighting......

I wait untill there is at least four episodes to watch at a time. I just keep wanting more. I can't wait to see how there relationship will play out in the end however I agree with my fellow watchers that he wouldn't go through all this nightmare to give her up in the end.

I am not against Ko Sung Hee because i think she's doing fine here in terms of acting, BUT.. She's not the main lead, you should concentrate on LSY, too much of KSH's highlight scenes.. And Writer and director, do not make the Police in KDramas a laughing stock always. In this drama, they are the worst, too much.. Lol..!! Good luck!

naisy Jul 13 2015 8:04 am I think the writer is not doing good. Why Ko Sung Hee has more scenes more dialouges than the Main lead Lee Si Young. It seems Lee Si Young is only a support here. The highlights the concentration are all given to KSH, why not to the Main lead (Lee Si Young)...? I think it's unfair. And as usual in K Dramas, why are the Police so idiots here. Why not stop Do Hyun from doing his own investigation, own revenge? He should coordinate with the police. Seems Police has no Power. Or maybe because Police can not do anything that is why Do Hyun is moving on his own. Is this another story of Those Slow Police Idiots...? I think i am going to stop at Ep 6. OCN has set the bar high and the writers/editors are doing justice to the phrase "keeping us on the edge of our seats". KMY is outstanding and I deem him an actor's actor. Highly recommend to anyone considering watching. Would love to see itecognized as a standard to be emulated.

Was glad to find out I'm right. This is a must-watch. Twists and counter-twists, and simply great fight scenes and the romance is off the chain.

This is honestly the most suspenseful drama up-to-date that I actually anticipate to watch. The actresses are good too! in the 4-episodes that i've seen Sung-hee can carry her character Joo-young effectively. so don't judge her too much.

Even though it's been four episode i already started re watching without subs trying to put the clues together. All the actors are doing a wonderful job in portraying their characters. I high recommend to watch once you get to episode 2 you'll be hooked.

On the case of Go sung hee, I can say she is doing a good job as her character,plus our hero played by Kim Moo-Yul is just absolutely handsome and so damn, i don't know how to explain this but just know i would trade spots with go sung hee in heart beat to have kim moo-yul be my future husband in this drama.
