Since Oh Hee-Dong (Yang Se-Jong) was little, his uncle Oh Gwan-Seok (Ryu Seung-Ryong) looked after him and led him into the criminal world. Oh Gwan-Seok will do anything to make money and he doesn't care whether it is legal or not. Oh Hee-Dong now works for his uncle. One day, Oh Gwan-Seok receives a request. The request is to salvage treasures from a sunken ship off the waters of Shinan, South Jeolla Province. Oh Gwan-Seok senses an opportunity to make a fortune, but rumors and gossip about the ship attracts all sorts of people to the area.

Notes

Based on webcomic "Pain” by Yoon Tae-Ho (published July 18, 2014 - August 25, 2015 via Kakao). The webcomic was inspired by a real life incident, when in 1975, a sunken 14th-century Chinese ship was discovered off the coast of Shinan, South Korea.

Russell Sep 25 2025 2:07 pm I think this was based on a real historic shipwreck in the early 14th century and because some of its treasure was finally drifting to the coastline a whole bunch of low lifes want to access the remaining treasure before anyone else can do so. The ocean scenes were really cool. The modern day action takes place in the 1970's so they finally had more modern day equipment to dive and retrieve the remaining treasure of gold coins and valuable porcelain pots. If you like thrillers then definitely check it out.
