Osamu Koura's (Joe Odagiri) life has stopped after losing his young son. Due to the sense of loss he feels, he separates from his wife Keiko Koura (Takako Matsu). Even after the shipyard where he worked went under, he hasn't found a new job. One day, his younger sister (Hikari Mitsushima) asks him to live with her 17-year-old daughter Yuko (Akari Takaishi) and she leaves her with him. His younger sister is a single mother and Yuko has grown up without knowing the love from a father. Osamu Koura and Yuko suddenly begin to live together. As they begin to live together, they face the pain they have and find a small bud of hope.
