Oh Hyun-Jae (Jang Hyuk) used to be a top criminal profiler. He solved many cases with his skills, but an explosion, caused by a serial killer, ended the life of his fiancé. After the horrific incident, Oh Hyun-Jae vanished and he now lives in seclusion. Meanwhile, Cha Soo-Young (Sooyoung) is police officer in a rural area. She has a special ability, which allows her to remember everything that she saw. Due to her special ability, she is selected as a rookie detective who will partner with Oh Hyun-Jae informally.

Kudos to all the actors, they really embodied their characters perfectly. I love Jang Hyuk and he definitely didn’t let me down with this one and I’m super proud of Sooyoung, she did an amazing job along with the other actors!

As an avid kdrama fan, I’ve come across a fair share of kdrama gems and I’m happy to say that I’ll be adding this one to that list!

I will tell you what I saw Jan 18 2026 7:48 am During some parts you need to turn off your brain. Yes, it has its flaws. But the story is extremely well made, with a lot of plot twists that make it interesting whole time. Usually the most dramas get boring or strart to lack on pace later, but it was not the case for this one. I think the drama is worth to watch despite some things being irrational.

Jackie's mom Jul 30 2025 1:17 pm Some spoilers: I stopped watching in the middle of episode 2. It's just corny, the drama feels like a Hollywood movie. The profiler can't see, but can operate all these gadgets in his home. He and the team leader are testing the FL and then trusting her to help with the investigation, all while everyone else thinks she's stupid and getting in the way. When she's in the sewer, her team can't hear her but somehow her hearing device is connected to the profiler's and he guides her. It's so cliche and lacks reality. Korean drama plots are usually better written than this. I was bored after episode 1 but wanted to give this a fair shot, but it's not interesting enough to continue.

Cops in the studio, looking for the serial killer, suddenly the Profiler starts to show signs of being chocked, and the dum girl and other cops just stare, rather than running to help the guy! This was way unrealistic! Plain dumb! Too many good actors and actresses in this series, to be a part of it.

It's so annoying how despite knowing who the villain is oh hyun jaw doesn't comes clean to the FL atleast, she deserves to know. And it's too dangerous waiting. Very annoying plot part.

Also the selfishness of almost all the police force..

Minnie Apr 07 2024 2:29 am the negative comments here are funny. lol. i think the drama is good enough... i love the plot twist of every cases. for those saying she's weak, cha soo young, it's because she was a patrol officer. she doesn't have much experience doing detective works and fighting high profile criminal on hands, cha soo young learn as she go. so imo i think sooyoung potrayed the character very well.

Always in danger when meet the villain and wait for others come to help her. And always need hyun jae to tell her what to do, where to see, what to find. Her character very frustating to see. Don't really understand how she become a police when she is like that.

Oh hyun jae, like wtf he also has eyes why keep dictating soo young like a teacher and his kindergarten student. Also because of him officer man soo dead. If he catch the guy in the forest he wont be able to kill more people. All he care is want to know who want Isu dead.

Team leader hwang also all she care is oh hyun jae wont know that she is the one who give isu name to the guy.

All police in this drama is stupid and weak, how can the guy can kill witness and even many police in police station??

From all crime korean drama i have watched this one definitely worst. Watch at your own risk.

Besides completely illogical actions, those people are really the worst, I start thinking that in Korea the worst criminals work as police. And I don’t get those people motivations, no trauma or ambition can justify such changes in character personality. All they just rum around and make one mistake after another

Park Min Jun 10 2023 8:30 am This drama was hands down the worst portrayal of police force I've ever seen. They were unbelievably bad at their job, even for 'police' drama standards. This is the most important aspect the drama needed to nail but failed to do so and resulted in a lukewarm detective/thriller drama. Both Soo Young's backstory and the main villain were lame and disappointing. The only redeeming quality was its cast, specifically the main cast, other than that the drama is straight up a failure. Not even Jang Hyuk contribution helped it. Speaking of which, Jang Hyuk looking like professor Snape in the poster lol.

No one says well done to the policewoman who saved the victim bleeding for 48 hours besides the unlikelihood of that we are expected to think she survived in a front load washer or dryer. Is there enough air? And they can’t get into a building locked up tight? No one brought or had anything that could cut open the chain? The building that unsafe hasn’t been demolished by the local authority and charged to the owner of record? It was night by the time they got the owner there to unlock the lock? Liked the hospice drama but this one just too much.

It’s like he’s not sure if he’s acting in Voice or in one of his romcom. His character is so flawed and selfish that he doesn’t make any sense. The villain’s character and Detective Yang are the only ones that made sense. The police upper management are so stupidly realistic (can’t blame the script for being real). Anyway, still a good thriller if you don’t mind being presented with stupid main character judgment every single episode.

Spoiler : I've never seen any main character who is so selfish. He just think about himself, his past & his revenge. He already know the killer but just let him go because he wanted to know who told the killer to kill his fiancee. OMG! And the other cop must lost his life because that man selfishness. Oh Hyun Jae is the cop, for God's sake. He must know that the killer will kill another person.

And you only lose your fiancee. Not your wife and your children like jisung in the defendant. And because of that, your life is stop? What kind of mental this cop has? I love jang hyuk, but I hate oh hyun jae soooooooooooo much

Excellent in every Way! Jan 16 2022 4:36 pm This show is so good for so many reasons. Great actors, twisty plot, stunning cinematography, terrific pacing. And it thankfully doesn’t have any comedic or romantic side story’s. It’s all dark, all the time, exactly what I want in a tv crime show. The lead actor is simply perfect in his role and complimented by an outstanding cast.

SPOILERS... Point 1: It was so incredibly irresponsible of Oh Hyun-Jae to allow the killer to walk around the police station after finding out who he was. A cop’s life was unnecessarily taken bcs of him. On TWO occasions in the same day! That was never addressed; it was just like, oh he disappeared again to cope. Throughout the series, you got the sense that he puts his own interests above others; he only lives to hear who told the killer to kill Isu, so I get that. Still, allowing the killer to walk around your colleagues? Omg, Hyun Jae could never earn my trust again.

Point 2: Genius profiling or no, I don’t agree with a certain analysis. When you’re dying and asked who you would want killed so you could live, you don’t always think about your enemy (especially if you have none). It’s more believable you think about the people you love. Ain’t no one can think straight when they’re dying. So that part did not justify the fixation Hyun Jae had when he was stuck for 5 years. It just kept bothering me, even before it was revealed who muttered Isu’s name.

I'm content with the ending. After watching Stranger from Hell, I was a bit afraid the same fate that happened to the MC was gonna happen to Hyun-jae. However, I was also betting on him not to become like that since he is generally a calm, sharp and mentally strong person. Otherwise, he won't be known as a genius profiler.

The big question is about the big reveal of Han Isu's death. Upon hearing the reveal, Hyun-jae seemed confused and in denial that it was actually his greed to chase The Guy that caused Han Isu to die. He could've helped her but he didn't.

Then we saw Hyun-jae didn't see that The Guy had escaped the hang rope right in front of him.

My question is, was it really a real reaction and he succeed to snap out of it before he got strangled?

Or was it a pretend so he can catch The Guy off guard when The Guy was trying to strangle him? Perhaps it was his plan to mentally torture The Guy again since The Guy is clearly insane.

Apparently there's no answer to that since Hyun-jae disappeared from the police department.

Cain Dec 22 2020 6:01 am I'm now starting to watch the final episode. Given that this is a drama by OCN, I'm don't feel it's gonna be a happy ending where the everyone goes back to normal, Profiler Hyun-jae able to forgive The Guy and The Guy is sentenced death penalty by court.

I've heard sad ending from 2 OCN dramas namely Possessed and Stranger from Hell.

So, yeah. I'm not gonna expect any thriller drama from OCN will end good as what I think it would go.

Now, let the show begin!!

Cain Dec 21 2020 10:38 am A very interesting drama. I've been quite interested in thriller and action drama lately. All thanks to Vagabond (that show is great btw).

I would say this drama is a fantasy with slight supernatural. Fantasy because I don't believe Detective Soo-young ability exist to that extend. Maybe it exists and unrecorded. Who knows.

Anyway, the storyline is beautiful. Profiler Hyun-jae is indeed talented, CALM and knowledgeable (you will see why). These 3 reasons are why he can make a perfect deduction based on information given to him, almost every time.

I find myself the joy of making my own deductions alongside him. I love that the cases aren't always what you think it look like, hence, you might suspected the wrong person until the crucial evidence is introduced at the last minute. It surprised me and I loved it cuz now I know another way of interpreting those evidences.

Any one describes drama based on his or her taste which sometimes is good but not all the time. Some time people provide good comments to the drama which was not good. But sometimes they provide harsh comments to the drama which is good. This drama is very nice and interesting drama. It’s worth watching Maybe if your expecting to see romance that is not your drama to watch. But it is very nice drama. I rewatched many times and I never get tired of it. Congrats for the whole team

I just don't expect that the killer is father and son . But expected the guy is someone who is near to you and also who good outside but inside is bad..

- - Read this*** Only reason I watched this drama was because of ''Jang Hyuk'' my favorite actor. If you love crime investigation drama, than this is perfect drama for you.

As for me, I did not enjoy this drama at all. Why? It has no romance, no comedy, no action, only mystery crimes.

So again if you love crime films, you will love this. If you are like me who likes romance, action and comedy. Stay away from this. Time waste.

The death of yang man soo has greatly hurt me, such a simple guy.

I could not helped myself to watch the next episode although it could mean a lot of time to be consumed. I watched it until 3 in the morning. I understood that in engaging combat to solve crime some protocols may not be strictly followed and is subject to scrutiny by the public. However, that could be tolerated should that in any way hamper the process of attaining justice. The movie showed the importance of good communication devices. I believe there is 2nd season. Viva!

Really he done a good job . Don't waste your time by wathing this drama and there is nothing to watch

Just because of personal hatred/revenge OHJ makes all the people around him hurt or killed. Sometimes i just *roll eyes* when CSY tried to make herself looks blur/stupid/surprised. Thing is it does makes the police looks like a fool in some of the episodes.

JongdaeDaTroll Mar 29 2020 7:03 pm It's quite underwhelming. The first couple of episodes was great and all but in the middle up to the last everyone just seemed to be so annoying to me. And it really became so predictable. I mean it's not a bad series, i guess i just had high expectations because Jang Hyuk is the ML. In short, this series lack something and that's the storyline. Nonetheless, for ME janghyuk saves the series, i wouldn't finish it if it wasn't him. It felt like he saved the whole series. Wish to see him again in future works.

They could've arrested him earlier. Just a good start..but the last 3 episodes are worst.. And as expected from Jang Hyuk, hes always good in acting.

At beginning of ep 15 how the bad guy managed to escape from RIU police station after killing another officer.

He could have been arrested then & there only with the murder weapon and there would have been no need of another 2 episode.

To be honest this style of plot has been redundant already that it's just a matter of which of the characters introduced is going to be the suspect of the main case. I've watched a lot of crime, detective etc type of dramas and I wish they paid much more attention to the little details that make up the entire storyline. Also watched this while watching voice and man sameish drama just different abilities lol well jang hyuk is da bestie

2). At the premier elite forensic lab of the country there is no security, no guards, - Anyone can come & go, fire guns inside the NFS, anybodey can just enter & pick steal the evidence there

I am not saying that drama be realistic but at least show something that is believable

I keep getting confused. Some people are saying he is Lee Ji Min... but in ep 12 at the end, he looked more like Kang Dong-Sik. If you click on the actors profile on here as well and compare, it looks more closer to KDS than LJM... maybe its my eyes. I mean the way the story went, it makes more sense that its the Main girl's friend - as he is linked to her past than LJM who is a rando... dangit, need the next episode

Davia Mar 08 2020 1:25 pm Soo Young's acting is the best part of this drama. The drama is exciting to watch if a tad hokey. Cha Soo Young's mental ability is certainly interesting to watch and food for thought.

Either Jang Hyuk appears to be getting more handsome as he get older or this hairstyle really suits him. I'm enjoying watching the way he plays this character even though he over does it a bit. But I suppose that might be part of the appeal of the character.

I really like Team Leader Hwang Hwa-Young's no nonsense demeanour as played by Jin Seo-Yeon. Great actress!

All the characters in this drama are well acted and add a gratifying dimension. Korean dramas have the best supporting actors!

If you enjoy crime dramas this should be a go!

mongji Mar 05 2020 6:25 pm tbh, this drama i expecting so much.. but this become like "what kind of drama is this?" this drama like compilation of another criminal drama like voice and criminal minds, i know this is about profiling the criminal who already know that the victim will be found dead (almost), but the story line already predicted. I love the cast but is so stiff like jang hyuk and sooyung character is not blend at all

i hope next episode will be interesting, good luck for this drama

Also this is a really well written drama so far with production consistency. For e.g in episode 9 at 16:28, you'll see the clock showing 1:22 minutes countdown and the clock reaches 0:00 at exactly 17:50 which is exactly 1 minutes and 22 seconds.

ami Feb 28 2020 3:33 am This drama is honestly a very interesting drama. With Oh Hyun Jae's impressive profiling skills and Cha Soo Young's ability to remember things very well. I keep seeing comments about how Cha Soo Young keep screwing up but is that not the point? She is, anyway, an "amateur", and it makes her character more relatable as that's just the plain truth. Investigations, chasing suspects/criminals don't always go their way.

However, despite his acting being great the young policewoman ,Sooyoung, makes this series almost unbearable to watch with her constant screw ups. I know its not the actresses fault but the writing is terrible so far. Maybe it may get better.

She has amazing ability to solve cases base on the voice, sounds and noise. I really love Voice. Anyway, let’s see how good this drama is.

LKB Nov 16 2019 4:40 am So she's Yoo Seung Ho in Remember: War of the Son; he is any of many who lost a family in a horrific murder via explosions that undoubtedly will make him traumatized... sure he's played a detective and even lost family members, but this doesn't seem like Voice or others. Living in seclusion? I've seen a lot of demoted officers/prosecutors even moreso, but someone who runs away isn't really what he's done before as his character goes though other leads have gone that route. Kdrama men usually opt for seclusion the minute they get cancer, though, if we're analyzing brief synopses. I'm still happier to bring back Remember's skill than, oh, the dozens of people who touch you and see your past or how you die or can see ghosts. I'm glad OCN changed that for her because she DOES look like she'd be perfect to stereotype as some shaman-like ACTUAL ghost-seeing detective (already done). I'm happy Hyuk's back with OCN though I'm LOVING him in My Country right now alongside Yang Se Jong and Woo Do Hwan. OCN suits his intense gaze so well and the fierceness he can bring to the screen. (Despite the plot summary, a summary written based on an incomplete script they haven't even started doing readings of the first episode for, it's OCN, and OCN doesn't copy others, even when adapting an existing work!)
