Sun-Hee (Yum Jung-Ah) is a mother of two children. She has worked as a contract worker for a large discount store for the past 5 years. Sun-Hee has been promised numerous times that she would eventually be promoted to a regular full-time employee. Hye-Mi (Moon Jeong-Hee) is a single mother and works with Sun-Hee as a contract worker. Soon-Rye (Kim Young-Ae) works as a janitor at the same discount store and is also a contract worker.

One day, the contract workers learn that they will be dismissed. The workers panic, but Hye-Mi and Soon-Rye suggests that they form a union to fight for their rights. Sun-Hee is nominated with Hye-Mi and Soon-Rye to represent the contract workers. A struggle between the contract workers and management takes place.

Notes

Movie is based on a true story. The incident took place from July, 2007. Cashiers at E.Land Mart Retail were fired which triggered the fired workers to go on a stay-in strike for 510 days.
Filming began January 11, 2014 and finished April 30, 2014.

I blame the company first for they think they can push over employees when the people help their business too much. I also blame the government for weak policy and laws to protect their people.

Im really angry that up until now this happens somewhere around the world. I hope we live one day that all this bad people. And may they get the karma they deserve one day, regarless in this life or in the after life.

Lucy Mar 03 2018 6:00 am I can't say I enjoyed the subject of this movie, since this has been & is happening all across the world mainly to women, yet it does for men as well. It's a historical theme, big corporations versus the lowly worker, or the wealthy vesus those who have not, which will continue decade upon decade, if ever resolved.

I can say I enjoyed the relationship among the women, their families, the tenacity to do what MUST be done for the betterment of their families, etc.

Whether it be E.Land Mart Retail, or Walmart, or Costco, or any number of retailers, they cannot stand unless it were for their workers. I say the everyday workers are the heroes.

Specially for hardworking women who has to go through those big corporation and people who think they can just used us like disposable things. Watching this movie made me remember my previous job were they hired me they used to give me a contract and I used to signed it for them later on be noticed I was not hired for that position but for a lower one for a lower pay rate since we didn't have any Union to protect us I used to swallowed my pride and work until get something better. Am a bachelor science graduate in Aeronautics but just because am a woman a lot man manager put me down just because they felt inferior because I was a graduate with a title with 10 yrs of experience. I have to say this movie made me cry but a the same time made me feel proud that fight together for what is right everything is possible.

I really love D.O. a lot!!! cuz he's a member of my most favoured K-POP Boy band "EXO"!!!!! and I heared that Kyung-Soo has a kissing scene in the movie, I was a bit dishearted but, I'll still support him all the way ^_^!!!!
