Set during the Joseon period, Kang Han-Soo (Woo Do-Hwan) becomes a lawyer to take revenge on the person responsible for the death of his parents. While he gains work experience as a lawyer, he develops into an able lawyer. Kang Han-Soo becomes involved with Princess Lee Yeon-Joo (Bona) and Judge Yoo Ji-Sun (Cha Hak-Yeon). Princess Lee Yeon-Joo cares for her country and people sincerely. Judge Yoo Ji-Sun strives to deliver fair judgments.

When they said bona's character passed away. my gay heart want Kang Han soo and Yoo ji sun to be together hahahahaha. but yeah i know it's impossible. Hahaha. Also King Lee Hyul was so cute like i want to kiss him so bad Hahaha.

Park Min Jan 04 2024 7:23 pm Just like any other profession focused drama, they follow the notorious bait and switch tactic and this drama was no exception. We were introduced to an attorney with a tragic past and a strong motive, he worked on 2-3 cases for the first half of the drama before shifting the drama into a love chase, hypergamy, and hasty revenge. This shift wouldn't have been a problem if it hadn't been so atrocious. Somewhere around episode 9 everything took a change for the worse, including the male lead, who had been a walking disaster since the beginning. Structuring a romance around him was a big mistake; he was unbelievably creepy, intrusive, touchy, and pushy for someone who he met very briefly. His behavior came off as nothing but repulsive while going against the narrative. However, even that changed around the same shift, he began to take the moral high ground without going through any prior development. On another note on the inconsistencies, some earlier scenes had artsy edits which were interesting but none of the later episodes had something similar. It was just a one off thing to gain attraction, again, bait and switch. Overall, the drama had some intriguing elements earlier on but none of them lasted long enough.

Mike Sep 28 2023 10:06 pm I enjoyed this series, the ML and Bona were very good. The most heartbreaking, gut-wrenching scenes were the HanSoo's sister's death scenes. That episode had stronger impact than the final episode. Nevertheless, I was happy with the happy ending. Well worth watching this drama.

Frankie Sep 22 2023 9:37 pm I don't know why I didn't like Woo DW in this role but I loved him in Bloodhounds (2023) and also rewatched Mad Dog (2017). He really deserved Best New Actor that time. Hope he gets an award for Bloodhounds.

Doooeeeyyyyy May 22 2023 12:03 pm 8/10 not a fan of historical drama. But this drama is so goooooddd i love WDH, he nailed his character. Jisun and Eunsoo looks good together. I wish eunsoo and jisun end up together. Why did the director kill eunsooo hahaha mygad!!! Eunsoo can also be the main lead. Bona is pretty looks like a princess but i think there is no chemistry between WDH.

jamie May 20 2023 11:19 am 9/10 drama ❤️ really loved this drama every episode was very interesting. Princess role was just amazing i loved how they potratyed every character. Romance comedy drama suspense action everything was in this drama!! Ending is 10/10 too. definitely worth a watch.

This episode mentions it, but this has been troubling me too. Why didn’t Han Soo check on Eun Soo especially if years and possibly a decade had passed with them being apart, and the brutal events that had taken place to their family? Han Soo also picky promised Eun Soo that he would visit.

Is it me or the promise Eun Soo requested from the King the same request, made by letter, her Father made to the previous King?

I love the acting of the characters here specially WDH. i also love the king, Han soo friend, Yoo Ji sun. I love their acting. Kang Eun Soo is a true Warrior and true to her words. Kang Eun Soo is her parents’ daughter!

The words of Executive Minister Woo’s in episode 13 will be prophetic because his sword is pointing at him.

Personal note. Han So-Eun gave an outstanding performance in this episode. I didn’t realize that she is the actress from 18 Again which she was wonderful in too. She has appeared in a some of my other favorite K-dramas like… Our Blooming Youth, The Witch’s Diner, Mystic Pop-up Bar, and The Beauty Inside.

My only request from those working in the K-dramas space… give Han So-Eun a lead role. I would love to see her in a bigger role as a lead, and she has the talent and skill to see it to the end.

I look forward to future work of Han So-Eun.

Yuka Apr 17 2023 10:43 am first two episode were really good to the point its distracted me so much so i have no mood to watch other ongoing dramas, both lead are cute even fl looks naive and ml is kinda cunning, i hate him when he made problem to solve problem, but hope they will have character development through episodes, and omg i really feel bad for king, like he's just a puppet which no minister want obey him, i wish pd-nim will put some justice for him :(

Never seen seaguk drama with law or attorney story like this before. The actors are really the BEST, the storyline are good and not boring, and the cinematography also really beautiful. They served everything. You can get all in one drama!

Davia Apr 16 2023 9:01 pm I am so appalled at the writer of this drama to have the male lead burn down a person's home and their precious things and then have the princess apologies to the ML! What is this? Are you promoting criminal behaviour? Under no circumstances is this the kind of behaviour that one should in anyway justify. You might think it means nothing, just entertainment but people are so susceptible to being influenced by media. Having a person do this and then it being okay causes distortion in some people's minds of what is right and wrong.
