| | + | Yoshie ([[Masami Nagasawa]]) and Tadahiko ([[Koji Seto]]) are a married couple. They have a 5 year old daughter named Mei, but Mei dies. After the loss of her daughter, Yoshie goes into despair and she has very little energy in her life. One day, Yoshie finds a doll that resembles Mei at an antique market and buys the doll. She adores the dolls and finds herself recovering from the deep grief she was experiencing. Yoshie and Tadahiko then have their second child, a girl they name Mai. While they take loving care of Mai, they lose interest in the doll they have at home. When Mai becomes 5 years old, she stars to play with the doll. Strange events begin to occur one after the other in their family. |
