Jeon Ji-Hoon (Eric) disguises himself as a travel writer, but he is actually a secret agent for Interpol. His job as a secret agent is way for Jeon Ji-Hoon to support himself financially. He is currently divorced. He was married to Kang A-Reum (Yoo In-Na), but they divorced without Kang A-Reum learning about his secret life as a spy.

Kang A-Reum now works as a wedding dress designer. She met Derek Hyun (Lim Ju-Hwan) after her divorce and they eventually married. Her current husband works as a diplomatic official and seems gentle and warm. His secret is that he is actually a cold-blooded industrial spy. Derek Hyun treats his wife sweetly, but, for his job as an industrial spy, he will do anything. He loves Kang A-Reum sincerely, but he also hides his true self from her.

Secret agent Jeon Ji-Hoon appears in front of Kang A-Reum and Derek Hyun.

Magda USA Jan 17 2026 8:53 pm Second time watching this series. It’s really sweet, fun, romantic, sad and good action. Some parts with AReum, Yoo In Na, didn’t make sense or a bit silly! But that’s on the writers plot, because she’s a very good actress! Cute story! Very good acting! Great cast of beautiful actors and actresses! I love the actor that played Derek, Lim Ju Hwan. He’s so good looking, beautiful smile! Just wish he’d be in leading roles and soon! He’s a Very good actor! As is Eric! Good looking and great actor!

Park Min Feb 14 2024 7:23 am Although its earlier parts were better than the rest but the initial set up needed more time and thoughts to be put into it. They wanted to kick start the premise quickly but they rushed things along the way which made later parts to drag instead of having a better investment at the start. The first 5-6 episodes kept you interested and had a good amount of intrigue but things slowed down significantly after that and it began to lose its attraction even when Derek began to be involved in the story heavily. They had a lot of elements lined up perfectly to create something good but never committed to one theme. Derek was an interesting addition to the dynamic but his character was never consistent, his character was forcefully bent 3-4 times to fit whatever narrative the writer wanted to steer the story towards. This also affected how the triangle played out. Again, they had a lot of time to better allocate and divide the runtime to make it more natural. There were a few attempts where the drama tried to get preachy and profound with dialogue and inner-monologue but once you zoom out it turned out to be condescending nonsense. I would say the drama was partially fun but not all the way.

He never being a true villain (at least his steps always understandable), but he always betrayed and pushed away. I like this drama,but since epiaode 8 I drop it. Areum gettimg annoyed.

CV Jul 18 2021 11:34 am I watched this bcs of Eric. Unfortunetely it's not a good drama. All the actors did a great job, the idea of the story is "ok"... but it just bad written. The script and the scenario often confusing, not well excecuted. But i made it till the end. The ost also didn't help at all.

Maybe there are many who don't like Derek's decision which tends to be selfish, but in my opinion it was the right decision, Derek knows that Ah Reum and Ji Hoon still love each other and their separation is only due to misunderstanding.. and DH believes AR will be fine if she is together with JH compared to him.. If he stays with AR and takes the decision to drop his mother, I believe it will be difficult, because he knows how much his mother's power, it must be difficult to drop her, even his mother will definitely continue to try to hurt / kill AR..

Apart from his mother, I am sure that Helmes also has many enemies, if he remains with his identity that has been exposed, it will endanger him and those around him..

Even though he left AR, DH continued to monitor her from the CCTV in her office to ensure AR's safety..

So I think the decision is really right for the benefit of all..

But to be honest, I am not sure about AR's decision to be an informant helping Interpol, it will endanger her..

Overall, I like this drama, the storyline is well packed, the acting of all the players is really good.. Even though the rating is low but this drama is still recommended !!

I like the comedy scene of the drama, especially the bromance part is very entertaining,, lol XD Although it ended sadly for Derek's relationship with Ah Reum, it was a good decision for everyone..

Looking forward to the next project, Lim Ju Hwan gets the lead role, and has a happy ending..

There are also many tearjerker scenes! The pain Ji-hoon must endured... the love he always felt for Ah-reum... I can never see Eric as other characters. Yoo In-na and Lim Ju-hwan are very good as well! This drama is a gem and should be appreciated more!

Vi Dec 19 2020 7:19 pm Eric has matured a lot since my fave Another Oh Hae Young. But he's a good actor so it doesn't really matter as long as he lands a good role that suits him. I'm on episode 6 of this and quite enjoying it. Yoo In Na has a fairly good chemistry with both actors.

I know that there are some difficulties while filming because of health safety and guideliness but happy because they finished it safely and everyone was healthy.

      Yoo In Na, Eric Mun and Lim Ju Hwan did a great job in portraying Ah Reum, Jihoon and Derek and also the supporting casts, they also did well. 
      I hope that Derek and Ah Reum will do again a series again because Yoo In Na and Lim Ju Hwan have really that natural and very good onscreen chemistry that the viewers had noticed. I want Derek and Ah Reum to be together in the end but we all know that it's Jihoon and Ah Reum were the main lead and they come back as a couple again. I'm still happy because Derek was not dead and free now but I think he was lonely without Ah Reum. Ah Reum said that Derek might find a new love in one of his travel. I hope Derek will find also his true happiness just like Ah Reum and Jihoon.

Jean Dec 16 2020 7:43 am Tonight's episode of The Spies Who Loved Me made me cried when Ah Reum remembered all their happy memories together with her husband Derek. I wanted them to be happy again as a husband and wife, but after Derek faked his death and made Ah Reum and everybody believed that he was dead, I am not sure if there will be an Ah Reum and Derek come back again. I think that Jihoon and Derek will become the past of Ah Reum in the end. I'm happy that none of the 3 main leads died in this drama series. I cried seing Ah Reum cried because of believing that Derek was dead already. I'm looking forward that Ah Reum and Derek will meet again because Ah Reum already found out that Derek was not really dead.

L Nov 30 2020 4:25 am i thought i could predict the ending of the spy drama that KAR will get back with JJH but after epi 10 i don't know what to predict anymore.. the plot now seemed focus on getting the boss of Helmes while KAR is determined to solve the death of sophie.probably the reason she's still keeping the files of sophie with her.. and the Interpol momentum has to slow down because of a mole in the group. espionage is one hell of a roller coaster ride you never know the person next to you would be the person to betray you. and that's kept me glued with this drama! exciting and tearing up the viewer all at the same time!

But Ahreum is facing problems now because of Derek but Jihoon is willing to help her and Derek. I'm thinking who was the Interpol police helping Helmes and on their side so that their operations were leaked.

Somehow, it made me really sad that all his previous characters (well, except for Ugly Alert) eventually gave up on feelings to a woman: Shin HooYe in "The Bride of Habaek", Fukuda in "Different Dreams", Kang JoonHo in "The Great Show", even Gu DoKyung in "Towards Zero"... It's really annoying! I want him to have a leading role and a happy ending in marriage in the end!
