Story of Korean independence activists in the early 1900's. They risked their lives to fight against Japanese rule and to achieve Korea's independence. In Harbin, China, the freedom fighters set upon a daring attack.

Full respect to the ones who fought for Korea's independence. Koreans remember you and now more foreigners will know of you. The Stravinsky style track was brilliant during the war scene.

Victoria Jan 12 2025 10:50 pm If you have the chance to see Harbin, it's incredible... what phenomenal performances from the undeniably handsome Hyun Bin, Lee Dong Wook, Jeon Yeo Bin, and the rest of the cast. The cinematography is stunning, definitely worthy of a big screen. I didn't watch Dune, but they filmed with the same kind of camera. Cinematographer Hong Kyung Pyo also worked on Parasite! Harbin was so epic... really exciting but also heavy and sometimes sad. It's based on historic events and it was obviously a rough time. LDW's last scene was so badass, and that scene at the end...wow. Great storytelling!

The cinematography was absolutely breathtaking, perfectly complemented by the detailed costumes, makeup, and a hauntingly beautiful score. Among a talented cast, Jo Woo-Jin delivered a performance for the ages. His nuanced facial expressions conveyed a depth of emotion that made his role unforgettable—truly Oscar-worthy.

A masterwork beyond belief! Every moment was brilliantly performed by the actors, the cinematography was breathtaking, and the chills I got were unreal. There is no CG in the backgrounds or landscapes.Keeping that in mind will likely help you appreciate it more. I believe that you will be able to appreciate the film more if you watch it while following the emotional journeys of the characters, particularly Ahn Jung-geun. The movie seems serene but powerful to me. After seeing it, you will carry with you the lesson that General Ahn Jung-geun wished to get across: we should stay brave and optimistic and take things one step at a time.

Ann Wilson Nov 16 2024 5:30 am From what I observed from YouTube to the reactions of those who were fortunate enough to watch “Harbin” at the Toronto Film Festival, there was a standing ovation for the movie. It is said it will be released for the general public sometime in December this year in South Korea.

Hopefully it will also be released in other countries as well. Hyun bin’s last movie “The Point Men” was released in other countries.

Looking forward as from the news naver both from HyunBin's article to Dongwook's latest article from his switzerland trip.. It says it will be expected to released by December. Just didn't know if it is 2023 or 2024 but please make it quick, I can patiently wait too. Even if it means taking that long to be release!!!

I googled him and got info on the novel Harbin, which is what this movie will be based on. I couldn’t be more thrilled, I hope the book is translated to English before the movie comes out.
