Lee Yool is the Crown Prince, but he suddenly disappears. He comes back to the palace one hundred days later. What happened to the Crown Prince for the past one hundred days?

April Oct 18 2024 2:35 am No matter how I tried, I really can't feel the chemistry between FL and ML. DO did great and executed so much excellence on his role, but NJH's "intelligent" character was not justified. The story has so much potential, but I just didn't like how the FL was played.

Eventhough i'm more fond of Kim Seon Ho - which i hope he's the lead actor - D.O surprisingly nailed his character. He has a good chemistry with Nam Ji Hyun. I never got boring watching this drama, not even an episode. [SPOILER] Thought it would end with sad ending, so it's a relief that at least Crown Prince and Hong Sim ended up back together.

Park Min Dec 23 2023 6:59 am The drama was mostly a slice of life drama with minimum story. The concept is fairly simple and was done before, "Save the Last Dance for Me (2004)" comes to mind immediately. The leads had a good characterization and received an equally fulfilling performance by their cast. Which also why the leads had a good dynamic going on. However, its biggest problem is its lack in variety. Since it's a slice of life, the cast felt limited in size while jumping between the same few members of cast. They also lacked a unique variety in their archetypes to help keep the drama lively and vibrant. The same thing can be said about its lacking length of 75min x 16 episodes. There were too many slow and uninteresting sequences that dragged each episode too far. A slice of life doesn't equal boring when they're done right. If this drama were to be cut down to 6-7 episodes it would have been much better.

Ugh, I hate what had happened to Mu-Yeon. I mean, why didn't he just agreed to be a witness. But I also understand that that's his story/fate. And it couldn't be a happy ending for all, after all that had happened.

King Pup 1722 Nov 25 2023 8:31 am Finally watched the series because Netflix is removing it in early December. On the whole, it’s an enjoyable watch, the series effectively ended in the early minutes of episode 16. Typical of some Korean series, the last 30-45 minutes of the final episode is being dragged out, so that it makes up the final episode.

This drama must be watched by fans of Do Kyung-Soo and Nam Ji-Hyun because the two have an immense amount of screen time together. It gives the storyline enough time to fully develop the relationship and interaction, though the flip-side is that it can be criticized that an excessive amount of time is focused on the pair.

Cho Seong-Ha is great as usual in his villain role, he’s scheming and menacing throughout the series. Special mention for Jo Han-Chul, he plays the role of the weak King perfectly, knowing he’s under the thumb of Seong-Ha who’s the First Premier, but just wanting to survive and hang on to his throne despite not being an effective king. Thumbs up to the two veteran actors for their powerful performances!

Sim Jul 17 2023 6:26 pm First time seeing do kyung soo. At first it seemed he was not acting much, then i was captivated by his deep voice and eyes. You’d realize he’s very subtle at his acting, but they are all there. What surprised me was in acting as 2 characters, he didn’t change his personality, but his demeanor and reaction was what gave rise to the laughs, and that made perfect sense - Why would a person’s character/behavior change just cause he lost his memory, not brain damaged per se. His comic timing was on point. His chemistry with all other actors were also palpable. I really enjoyed the series

With the story itself, it gets draggy from episode 13 onwards. 8/10.

The fight scenes were so greatly executed, almost like ballet. The sets were very neatly built to Historic lengths. I was held captive by the many extras that played around the main characters. Overall I loved this story line and I Thank the cast for keeping me to want more in each episode. Thanks to you all for a fantastic series!!!!!!

When I thought I couldn't bear the suspense and scary scenes anymore this series gives you such beautiful, joyous or sweet funny scenes - then I couldn't stop laughing, because I wasn't expecting they would have such a great sense of humour in this wonderful series. Learning of Korean customs and history is so fascinating too, the purity and cultural values in most of the K Series feel like a rare gem in this modern world. I just can't get enough! Thank you!

Lisa B Jan 05 2022 9:36 pm 100 Days My Prince is a compelling, well-acted period series that showcases the mesmerizing talent of Do Kyung Soo (D.O. of EXO) in his growing repertoire of acting roles. In a less deft hand, the part of the Prince might be overlooked but in DKS hands it is so interesting to watch. When he registers a royal demeanor, it is completely believable. Not a pretense of royalty, but a comfortable embodiment. The eyes of an actor is everything and DJS shows so much emotion ( not just sternness) that radiates from intensity to sorrow to love with great skill. Nam Ji Hyun (NJH) has great comic timing. She handles her character with aplomb. The chemistry between the two leads is what galvanizes the entire story and brings the viewer back every episode eager to follow them on their journey. A must watch for those who appreciate intelligent, well- acted stories that aren’t geared to pre-teens.

I didn’t know an idol can act so excellently, every expression and every gesture conveyed each scene effectively – made me laughed, thrilled, anxious, teary (good thing this is not heavy drama but more of historical, romantic comedy)

Cece Dec 09 2021 7:53 pm It's so boring don't even bother with this. I originally watched because I like Nam Jihyun, but I dropped after 5 episodes. The male lead cannot act at all, he has the same expression for five episodes straight. I had hoped that he would be more lively after losing his memories but he stayed the exact same and that's where I just called it quit because it's not getting any better. I don't care for any palace plots, the humors are stretched at times, overall just draggy and uninteresting. Heed my advice, just spend your limited time on earth on something else more worthwhile.

Derbhile Buckley Oct 27 2021 3:05 pm Love this series. Acting brilliant from all, consistent. Story lines great. Scenery beautiful. Buildings beautiful. Music I really enjoyed. Particularly the use of traditional instruments. That flute type instrument. ( Excuse my ignorance). Also the string zither type instrument. Loved the way it was used for humour with just a few sounds. The introduction I played. Normally I don't think much of the introduction music, but this one I'm enjoying it staying in my head. Makes me want to research Korean traditional music more. Other historical Korean dramas I watched I didn't get, but this one I could relate to.

Yul Jul 23 2021 10:19 am I’ve been watching kdramas since I was a child and have seen a lot of romance dramas. But this is the first time I’ve liked the main couple so much. The buildup of their relationship took time, was simple, yet very endearing as well. The writers wrote their characters very well that I never got annoyed with any of the main characters. Lastly, DO and Jihyun’s chemistry was so spot on that it’s my first time being so immersed in a kdrama’s romance. The casting directors made the right choice in casting them both instead of the usual mainstream actors and actresses.

(Won Deuk) and Nam Ji Hyum (Hong Shim)...great chemistry! And talk about a great supporting cast and my goodness what great comedy. I had so many laugh-out-loud moments. The 16 episodes went by too quickly!

The story had the perfect mix of intrigue, humor, drama, and romance. The supporting cast performed brilliantly. The scenes with Nam Ji Hyun and Do Kyung Soo were humorous, poignant, tender, heartbreaking, and sometimes hilarious. The emotional range these two young actors had to show was spot-on and impressive. Costumes, sets, settings all contributed to the beauty of this series. Repeat viewing is recommended because there is much to attend to and enjoy. Bravo!

Judi Feb 01 2021 5:59 am Surprisingly good, though very staged and stylised. Watched it for Nam Ji Hyun whom I adore, she is so vibrant and takes up the screen. First time I’ve seen Do Kyung Soo and he did a pretty good job as the 100 day husband/prince. Korean history dramas always shock me as to how violent and ruthless their history was, but love still mattered. Death by sword was second nature! Can’t compare with Mr Sunshine, but still a good show all done on sets. The second couple, the Crown Princess and the brother were of most interest, was surprised more interest wasn’t taken in the baby by its Auntie. I give 3.5 stars for Nam Ji Hyun and the 2nd couple.

Say what you want about this drama but he really can act. Also i wish Moo-Yeon and Je-yoon's characters had more depth. I thoroughly enjoyed both of their storylines.

D.O and Nam Ji-Hyun were great in respective roles, however, the one that stole the show for me was Kim Sun-Ho as Jun Je-Yoon that guy has charisma by the bucket loads, if I was Hong-Sim that's who I would've chosen to marry! Definitely gonna check out what other shows he's been in.

The plot is not that complicated and I like it how they showed 80% of the drama what happened outside the palace, since it could be boring to always show what's going on in the palace. Plot, actors,... it was simple but great! Loved it!

Renwa Dec 16 2020 9:32 am Binge watched this historic drama...very enjoyable...good acting, grand sweeping action scenes, plot lines, humor, cinematography. Loved the fun the writer has with the audience. Given the hours of pleasure throughout the drama, the depiction of final ending was disappointing. It felt like someone turned the lights off before the film was over. The drama has all these great moments that could have been brought together/included for a really slam bang ending. I literally started to get anxious that there wasn’t going to be happy ending. Doesn’t anyone edit the symmetry in these scripts? The romance of the main characters was deep simmering anticipatory...and then these very competent actors aren’t given the material to bring it home with the energy promised throughout the drama. NG. Otherwise worth watching.

Cutie Chibi Nov 30 2020 2:59 am I think this historical drama is the only historical drama that i actually enjoyed A LOT. Part of it is because it’s not politics heavy and it’s very light-hearted and funny. The leads have sooo much chemistry together, absolutely love D.O and Jihyun together. Supporting characters are funny as well. I especially love it when he’s at the Songjoo Village, ahh best part for me. The ending could’ve been better though :// but overall, this is the kind of drama I would rewatch!! Recommended ~

mila Oct 24 2020 6:49 pm yes wondeuk and hongshim have kinda good chemistry, but dangggggg that scene between yool and sejabin when yool found out that sohye waa preggo really struck me!!!! the scene was really memorable, hit most views, it even went viral again after han sohee succeeded with the world of married.. the chemistry, the intense gaze and tension ugh i can really feel that! i wish both han sohee and kyungsoo have project together again in the future with much more romance between them..

I even tot rhat he's not that handsome, n the least attractive exo member. But after watching 100 days my prince, I declare that I am his fan. Ohh... U was si wrong all this time. He's just sooo charming... His acting is daebak. I start browsing more about him n fallen even deeply. I found that he's saying to have reserved yet nice personality. His quietness his cute yet caring n considerate character... Omg... I love him. N I like ji hyun too. Over all, this drama is one of the best.

new fan of do kyungsoo Aug 29 2020 4:53 am finished this because my girl han sohee was in this drama, but damn, im in love with do kyungsoo now, his acting, his voice, his visual is such a blessed to my ears and eyes, he's such an eye candy (plus he's a good kisser too LOL) and please next time have a project with my baby sohee again, yeah? like action or thriller movie or hot romance full of tension and sexy scenes would be good!! i think both will look good at those scenes ehehehe

laura j Aug 13 2020 4:28 pm just finished this drama and disappointed by how the plot runs.. there are so many plot holes.. the ending post-war feels like watching different drama esp. that part where the king gave narrative to yul.. i got cringe all over my body.. for me, Do really saved the drama, while the FL has mono-expression and pouting face which is really annoying. but the chemistry kinda good. Actually I've decided to watch it because of our lovely D.O but i liked it, the whole cast and the whole scenario. Nam Ji Hyun fits on that historical dramas. And D.O is really good at acting. I really liked his character in this drama. The prince was wise, gentle and full of love. And Kim Sun Ho was really good also. So i can advice this drama all of the kdrama viewers.

To give justice to the other actors who did their best in giving the viewers a noteworthy kind of acting is beyond being closed minded and compare what was previously done by the lead actress. In a sense what I am saying is this, The emotions I felt when I watched the movie is amazing to start from tragedy to funny to survival and finally to love. I am blessed to have come across such a story. Maybe it is just me or just that I have not seen the other works by the lead actress but the most important is that I felt sad, happy, scared and then in love with the story in the end. To just say that the lead roles did not have chemistry is not justified simply based on how they cater to their previous inclinations for I did see one with another leading man and I did like that story too but it seems I can not go back to that now since I am sold out with this work of art. I am happy to have seen such in my lifetime. thank you.

Lisa May 24 2019 8:51 pm there are a lot of things am not Uncomfortable with this Drama 80% of it was focused on Romance which is not bad but this is a Historical Drama which my expectations is high, all the time I keep waiting Lee Yool to do something amazing but I was not moved by him he did better when he was Won-Deuk. I also find it disturbing both Queen & Prince Seowon became in active after Lee Yool return to the palace honestly I taught they are planning a bigger scheme. I cringe a lot in the scene where Hong-Sim & his Brother got finally reunited who even taught of sword fight in the market & broad day light was pure non-sense to me! Also the fact they portrayed her as a strong women but it turns out shes a huge cry baby and who is weak against a thug who is strong as his brother doesn't make any sense to me.

Enough about the hate here are some things I like in this Drama I always look forward seeing the Bunny stuff toys at the end. Also I like the fact that Prince Seowon, Jung Je-Yoon & Ae-Wol was not blinded by their jealousy was refreshing to me. Also seeing the Cute side of Jung Hae-Kyun was really hilarious cause in his previous dramas he always act as a villain & serious roles. I hope that Nam Ji-Hyun will get out of this syndrome "rich male lade who got amnesia, spends a lot of money, owning huge debt, insensitive and inconsiderate".

Dee Mar 12 2019 9:05 am This is such a GREAT DRAMA!!! Trust me, I'm a sageuk maniac. Omg D.O was so damn amazing with his acting, each expression, each gaze, each dialogue. I'm not even an exo fan or whatever, I've noticed him when watching their performances (he just have that eyes) and so I was interested to watch this. was I blown away by his performance? absolutely yes. I would say he is now one of the TOP in my king/crown prince list. Superb performance, he deserves an award for this. How on earth can he be a singer, dancer and act like he had been attending acting school since he was born? Amazing talent you just cant deny it.

However, one minus point is although I like the female lead because she's not that typical weak, crybaby or try-hard-to-act-cute you see in sageuks, I don't feel the chemistry with the male lead. She seems more like a sister to him sometimes. I don't feel the love or yearning for the crown prince as much as the crown prince managed to show it from his acting. the chemistry was lacking somehow.

Another plus point for this drama however is the fact that although it has 16 episodes only (which is heartbreaking because you dont know what to do with your life after it ended so soon), it meant that most of the plots are straightforward. They didn't waste 5 episodes or more showing the leads as kids falling in love and what not, but just in one episode (or one night) they fell in love and that's it haha. So it was quick and not much unnecessary stuffs going on. It also meant that you don't waste time hearing old politicians scheming things, or those typical scenes where they drink and plot things and wtv which always makes me sleepy in sageuks. So that's a plus.

The biggest plus is how the crown prince was portrayed as strong and stable. I like those kind of male leads in sageuks. He's smart and you don't see him being troubled much by his weakness (except of course, when the female lead was in trouble) but that's so short and happened just once so it's good. Also I laughed a lot because of those songjoo villagers hahahah. * spoilers: that scene when they dressed as a gypsy for no point at all because in the end they were scared made me laugh so damn hard xD *

Ahhhh I just love this drama!! I normally watch heavy sageuks, and you can't deny this drama is a bit simple relative to other sageuks, but even with the simplicity and straightforwardness, the crown prince (and D.O's acting) will surely kept you hooked. It's that superb. Watch the drama, dont even think twice!!

I REALLY LOVE THIS DRAMA! I'm on a long holiday after finishing 3rd term of my college, so I started watching The Rise of Phoenixes (starring Chen Kun and Nini) and it was such a heavy historical drama so I decided to watch something light and cheesy after that heavy political one.

At first, I didn't quite like the idea of the oldest unmarried woman, because generally I prefer prettier girl as the heroine in a historical drama. But I FELL IN LOVE with Nam Ji Hyun! She looks perfect! Well, 28 is considered very old to be unmarried in Joseon times, unlike modern days where 28 is still considered young. I'm not the fan of cute guys like DO but decided to watch this because the 1st episode intrigue me so.

I LOVE their CHEMISTRY! Their love story is pure and beautiful. I really fell for the love story which is the main focus of the story. Although the politics has so many plot holes and in the end, the queen is not as bad as I though she'd be. And to some point I even feel sorry for the Vice PM (chuasang). The only thing I felt sorry for is the death of Seok Ha/Moo Yeon. He deserved a better end.

Another thing is, as a heavy historical drama fan, I want to see Yi Seo/Hong Shim to marry Crown Prince/Won Deuk in the end and become the queen. The ending is sweet and beautiful, but who knows, she might not become queen in the end. That's the thing about historical dramas. I want to see her become the queen and reign the country peacefully alongside Lee Yeol TT or my imagination would go wild, you know! Haha..

Overall, it is very enjoyable and beautiful. Not very sad at some point, and not too cheesy. The way Lee Yeol say every lines of love is so sweet and heartwarming! I love this!

DKS and NJH should be work together again in a modern drama/movie, sure it will becoeme a hit! Well I'm lookin forward to it!!

mimo Nov 11 2018 11:47 am i honestly think that this is a great drama. as someone who aren't a big fan of kdrama, this is the first time that i actually watched all the eps without skipping some parts and succeeded on finishing it in just a week. probably because i'm an exo fan and i love do kyungsoo xD but really, I see that he really improve a lot with this drama, and the chemistry with nam ji hyun is no joke. i expected a lot of conflicts and stuff since this is historical drama but i'm actually quite suprise by how light-hearted this story is. i do cringe a lot at some parts but oh well this is a romance comedy, historical drama after all. i do have a bone to pick though, and it's about the (kind of) abrupt ending?? at least for me. i legit went like "that's it??" when i see ep16. maybe bcs my expectations were high at that time. not really dissapointed but i do think that it could have been done better. but still, i want to give a thumbs up for all the productions and actors, all of them did a great job! it's definitely worth all the hype it gets <3

It's a rom-com genre after all so I understand why they chose to focus on having a hilarious scenes instead of being deamatic. can't remember how many times my stomach got hurt from laughing because of this drama. I really love its humor. Idc if others find the storyline cliché. Romcom genre doesnt need a unique plot in order to entertain the audience. It seemed like it was all talk and no action which eventually lead to his demise. The villan part wasnt that entertaining. However the days the prince spent wth Hong shim were funny and nice. Was disappointed with the ending tho, wanted to see Hongshim as a princess and maybe a little baby on the way.

I'm still so sad that Moo-Yeon and the Crown Princess didn't get the happy ending that they deserved! I really didn't care for the Crown Princess for most of the show but by the end I really sympathized with her. And in the end poor Moo-Yeon who suffered the most didn't get the justice he deserved. :(

In dramas that I watched, at least the crisis begin in episode 13 and solved in episode 16. And even the problem solved easily (lost memory, finding it again, beat the evil) (((': I thought Hong shin was gonna moveon and left crown prince and someway meet him at the palace or something . Hong shin didn't even try to move one (lol,) she's just straight went to hanyang (to find her brother) but that's like the place where wondeuk lives rite? Their meeting was easy too (: Hong shin lives where she lives before which is super ain't dramatic , I wish wondeuk gonna tried to search for Hong shin cause she lives at different place but nah, that's to complicated aren't it writer-nim?, Lololol thanks BTW for the drama I enjoyed Kyung-Soo soooo much luv for all the cast

Congratulations for another wonderful and superbly done drama series! There were twists and turns that makes even the most vile characters admirable, for lack of a better word to describe them. I would have wanted for more episodes but the title itself talks of the 100 day the Crown Prince was missing. I will miss them but I’m already binge watching it again!!!! ~just my thoughts~ I think, just maybe, the crown prince already regained his memories when he was set as a human target in the archery. He realized his life was still in danger and someone wants him dead when he confronted Hong-shim's brother in the woods so he decided to embrace his new identity as Won Deuk. However, the vice-premier found him in his hiding and he just played along that he still has amnesia for his sake, to learn what the vice-premier and the crown princess's plans are and to see the scale of the 'bigger picture' of the possible overthrow of the current monarchy since he was fed a lie about his unborn child which is not actually his. ~again, just my thoughts~

He always has the role of a mentally unstable person and executes the role quite well. I am crazy over rom com and yes this is romcom as I laughed often while watching. Of course that is beside the dark side story of the palace and all. I love the other supporting casts for the peasants surrounding Won Deok. That is what a community should be. I'll comment more on the story after the ending. I do hope for a happy ending! Tho i know historical dramas have tragic endings.

Tim Oct 04 2018 12:31 am I do find this drama still enjoyable despite people keep saying that it was boring. Maybe people keep expecting it to be a heavy drama that full of twist plot.

However I do find the progress of the story a little bit slow and the only great things happened only at the end of each episode. Especially the palace affair. All of the scene seems to shows only the royal people plotting on the stupid king without any action taken. There's seems to be such a slow progress in that plot. The only interesting part is on how the stupid the king is been manipulated like that. I may hate the king character but still, that's what makes the story interesting.

For sure this just a plot built in order for the preparation of the return of the crown prince in 100 days duration. Gosh, I hope he remeber everythings and not just entering the palace to be manipulated again. So exciting to wait for the return.

As for the princess,I hope the announcement of the pregnancy should not affected anything as the prince will only be missing for 100 days which about 3 months only. Let's just hope that he remembers everything and not assumed that the child is his. That will be totally dissapointing. And I also hope that the princess child belongs to prince seowon as both of the family should be exiled from the palace from having ill intention. But the prince do seems a little bit young which likely not happened.

And what totally worries me on how hong shim has been lying to won deuk all this time. I do hope it shouldn't effect any further plots especially when won deuk return to palace. Let's not let them be separated due to these stupid lies and back to their own place. Especially with a potential that the crown prince can be manipulated anytime in any way due to his memory. That will be so sad.

alice Oct 03 2018 3:00 am i really love this drama. i havent watched kdrama for so long because the plot is always the same and the drama get boring in the middle but ive watched this drama from 1 to 8 eps (current eps) and i am very satisfy with it. it may not be the one drama that have a really heavy plot, it more toward light, comedy romantic drama. i cant stop smiling when watching and after watching this.

some may said the scenes feel repetitive but i dont feel it. if it meant by do's sentence "i feel uncomfortable", well thats his trademark sentence in this drama. and that doesnt mean this lead chara is some bad and jerk guy that change his life after meeting some poor woman, no. yes he remember some like martial arts because he is pro on that. but dont blame him for know nothing about work and being a man that dont wanna work. i mean before he is a crown prince, he is still a royal family that doesnt need to work and just need to learn, to study anything else. thats why some may think he is a jerk, spoiled guy because of that.

and that love since childhood. idk for u guys but i dont think is 100% love since childhood. i mean its more like the male lead is feel guilty that the lead female's family be killed. because his father that ordered the vice minister to kill the family. so he feel guilty.

but for u who havent watch this, im highly recommend this drama for u to spend ur night lol. i literally wait veryyyy patiently every week to watch this drama every sunday morning.

It's already ep 7 yet nothing interesting happened. Even though I had high expectations, this drama is weak, boring, very predictable and lacks originality.

Overused ideas, typical kdrama tropes and cliches. The dialogue and scenes feels repetitive at some points. Till now most characters feel plain and unremarkable. The main lead characters still basically your typical cold, rich and jerk guy who starts changing to the better after meeting the poor and kind girl, being forced to merry her, then loving her and learning from her, how original.

One can try to tell me it's normal for a CP (who supposed to be ready to become the king) to be this irresponsible and knows nothing about money or life. If he can remember material art or even a little from his 10+ years old childhood love that he only met couple of times, then he sure enough should remember other basics about life, right? It's already overused idea so why not try to make it more logical?

It's good the writer didn't make hongshim some weak girl but she could've been more interesting and deep. She is very plain and most of the time I only see people talking about her when she has a scene with wondeuk, jeyoon, or with her brother, which proves my point further, she isn't a remarkable character and needs other characters to be mentioned. It's already ep 7 yet the detective agency part isn't portrayed enough though it's in her character discretion as if it's a very big important part of her life.

That "love since childhood" part is very unnecessary too. Why not let two adults love each other without this cringy connection? It's already cliche enough so why adding more unnecessary cliches?

I thought the comedy part will be shown more but till now it's more melodic than funny imo. The first two episodes were kind of okay and had some potential but it didn't go up beyond that and started dropping.

As much as I love the leads but this drama isn't it.

SPOILERS (maybe) Mooyeon and Hong Shim are brother and sister, they got separated after their father was killed...now she is living as a peasant in the village while he is one of the guards of the minister (probably forced to be or hiding his real intentions)...in ep 6 the finally reunited and talked shortly, this after being separated for many years (I think 10, but I'm not sure)...I don't know exactly what he said to her because I have yet to watch with subs, but I think he mentioned he had a work to do before he could go back to her again

This could have been an enjoyable ride if logic wasn’t mangled so badly.

First, a fundamental timeline question: what is the age of the main characters? How much time has passed between the present day and their childhood? The child actors seemed between the ages of 9-12, the boy looking like the younger one. Are they supposed to be the same age? Several references are made to “that day 10 years ago” when the assassination happened. At the same time, the female protagonist is said to be 28. Is her age a lie, to better conceal her identity? Or was the girl 14 at the time, and 14 years have passed? By no stretch of the imagination was the boy 14, so there’s an age difference here. Is it important to the plot?

And that amnesiac thing... Let’s recap: girl is pressured into marriage—to avoid it, it she makes up a Won Deuk, man from another village who is away serving in the army—to save daughter from punishment, dad gaslights a man with memory loss to believe he is Won Deuk—girl is aware of the scam, and initially fears being caught in a lie. Now, with this basic premise, how come she tries to take the amnesiac to his home to collect his clothes or the money owed by the nobles of the “Northern village”? When did she start believing her dad’s story that this guy is Won Deuk, a soldier from the North. SHE made up the man. SHE made up the name. Is she daft? Why is she so bloody surprised that the wounded stranger does not identify with that name? (BTW, did the wound miraculously heal the minute he opened his eyes?) Is she acting? If she is, her surface earnestness is so convincing, it actually makes her a rather evil manipulator. And when she spins a story about his love for her by using fragments of her childhood memories, it seems like she is believing her own fiction. Is she a shameless liar? Is she sincere? Is this supposed to clue us in that her heart has recognized him? Well, all it does is confuse us about who is more confused - the male character, the female character, the writer(s) or the actress?

The comedy element is enjoyable, but why-oh-why all these hints of spousal abuse? Is it considered to be funny that the potential abuser is the woman? Role-switching, flipping the traditional dynamic, haha, funny - NOT. Maybe this interpretation is lacking the appropriate cultural lens, but still - coercion and intimidation are not humorous, no matter the gender of the one receiving the aggression.

On the plus side, there’s at least one example of character consistency: the male protagonist is an overall pompous jerk capable of occasional decency, both as a child and as an adult. Thank the gods of dramaland for small graces.

At first i refused to watch it because I'm not fond watching historical drama, but after watching episode 1 i cant stop my self looking for the next episodes. kudos to writers and directors for this wonderful drama.

popcorn and coke Aug 10 2018 8:37 am Nam Ji Hyun's hair is styled to be someone who is alreadymarried during Joseon times and there was a wedding scene, so I'm assuming they got married and he lost his memory so when he came back to the palace, he forgot the face of his wife and someone else pretended to be his wife thats why he touched that woman's lips?..or he could've already been married and lost his memory of him being a prince but his actions cannot lie and live a difficult life as a ordinary man during those 100 days and when he finally remembered, he came back to the palace and reminisce his time with her(second wife/true love) when he was reading and imagined seeing her with him.

Lanie Apr 13 2018 5:00 am I like Nam Ji Hyun as an actress, but I wished she had passed on this one and taken another drama/role that's different. According to other sites that I've read, the story is basically somewhat similar to one of her other dramas that she did, Shopping King Louis. That's the one where the rich guy, Louis, has amnesia and becomes clueless and useless in the world. He then meets a nice girl named Bok-Sil (NJH) who takes care of him. Two differences are: this one is a historical and Seo In Guk is a much more established actor than DO. Nam Ji Hyun is a very good actress and if she continues to take on the same kinds of roles she is going to be typecast. She needs to do other challenging dramas/roles in order to keep improving on her acting. Having said that, I wish her well in this drama.

But I'm weary of Han So Hee after seeing her in Money Flower; her cold, conniving and 2 faced character made me quite agitated so yes will wait and see when this drama is due to premiere to whether or not I add it to my must watch K drama schedule. The perils of 'Do I watch for one of my favourite actresses?' Or 'Give it a miss due to a co actor?' Hopefully I can overcome this delimma closer to the date and sit down and watch it without hesitation.
