Ninako is a female high school student. She has a pure and honest personality. Her classmate Daiki likes her and she knows how he feels about her, but she isn't sure how she feels about him. Ninako does feel something unusual when she is around him.

One day, on the way home on the train, Ninako meets Ren. He attends the same high school as Ninako. Ren is popular with the female students. They spend more time together and Ninako begins to have feelings for Ren.

Ninako is like nam both pretty I like the adaptation i just like to have a season 2 with Ren and Ninako kiss hehe xd love it ! It really reminds you of your first love unrequited love, your highschool being flash back when you read the manga! this i highly recommend it! Dont stop love your love one I hope you meet him or her one day!♡♡

Secret Nov 19 2017 2:31 am I just watched this today just to see yuina-chan. Though i kind of hate her character here i still find her very cute. All in all, this is a nice movie. The pacing is just right for me but since this is a romance/drama type of a movie, people might find this kind of slow in terms of pacing, specially if you guys prefer romcom more than rom/drama. All in all this is a nice movie to watch.

Sheng May 28 2016 8:52 pm This movie was soooooo hard to sit through because of the pace and I couldn't form an emotional connection with it. In fact, I skipped parts and then completely gave it up. My biggest iff about the manga was that Ren was boring and besides him being, I didn't understand why Ninako liked him. It definitely carried on into the movie. As hard as Fukushi Sota may have tried, Ren is just boring.

rina Dec 29 2015 8:51 pm i was very impressed with the movie! i watched the trailer many times and to be honest, the trailer gives a lot of hints for the movie. i kept thinking i have seen this before. nevertheless, it was a great movie. fukushi sota and arimura kasumi had great chemistry and although kuroshima yuina was a supporting character, she was so sweet in her role and actually although i did not like her character at first, her revelation at first changed my mind. the little actions were so sweet; ninako falling asleep on ren`s shoulder, ren folding up ninako`s sleeves on the class trip...lots more. a great adaption, i loved it

If you love someone then he/she loves you back go for it, do not waste time. Life is short anyway. More power for the casts of this movie. ☺

hotarumaruchii Sep 22 2015 9:31 am I watched this today and I am one of those people who haven't read the manga (or not actually finish it yet OTL). I was surprised that this live action movie is decently good but if you'll ask me I think I like Ao Haru Ride more ^^; but anyway this live action for Strobe Edge is a decent adaptation. I don't know what happened on the manga to be able to contrast what's the difference between the two medium but I think I don't see any problems with the phasing of the story in the movie. The cinematography is good too ^^. The character that made a good impression to me in this movie is Ando played by Yuki Yamada; he played his character well & I actually fell in love with his character more & his scenes have more depth which I really appreciate..I found the start and ending of the movie genuine most especially for Ninako's character ^^ I also love the main OST for this, it really fits for the movie.

abarenbo Sep 20 2015 1:34 am I personally freaking love Strobe Edge live action, in fact more than Ao haru Ride. I think the scriptwriter did a good job writing the story without straying too much from the manga. Even the second male lead, Andou plays essential part in this movie. The cinematography is very well done and the soundtracks are just so beautiful, especially that one song during the part where Ninako falling asleep on Ren's shoulder.

All the casts actually plays their character well, I even found myself rooting for Mayuka at some part of the story. My little complaints are just how Ninako looks a bit gloomy, not cheerful enough compared to her manga counterpart. Also at some scenes, the lighting are just too dark, almost no light was shining on the actors' face. And the introductory part seems rush but it's kinda acceptable when the story took a better pace afterwards.

All in all, it's a good adaptation and I will find myself rewatching it again and again.

Okay i will wait until the movie is released but i really wanted kento as ren /right now in my dream land wondering how cute he would look as ren (the blushing parts) / but sota is not bad either i will wait.

shiharu Jan 06 2015 2:49 am these are just some of the reason why live action movies of anime creates chaotic pressures...so as fans hated the way the story is compressed, or how the anime is so much better than the movie, or how fans hated the casting....well people, we all have the opinion but here's the fact: 2014, according with the survey conducted from January to June (half of the year), Sota Fukushi and Kasumi Arimura are the best actor and actress and that might be the most possible reason why the two of them were cast as Ren and Ninako plus the chemistry they had in Yowakutemo Katemasu. So attention! there's no such thing as wrong casting here! we are talking about these two big stars in Japanese Entertainment. don't fight with the production, they know best! well, yeah the below mention actors and actresses might suit with the characters but what can we do? so the best thing to do is quit bashing, keep quiet, wait for the movie and then get back here and shout all your disappointments or you might get back here and take all your words.

hannasj Nov 16 2014 2:58 pm All in all i'm quite dissapointed with the casting. And this my favorite manga even more. Gehhh i wish they would made this into an anime. Dont get me wrong fukushi sato is bery handsome but his acting is rather bland and emotionless. Its like he is emoting the same emotion thruout all the scene. I like him in starman. He's adorable but his acting and emotion range is quite limited if i must say. And dont even get me started with the heroine. She didnt look like ninako in the tiniest bit. Ninako suppose to be a very petite cute and petite. But this girl...rena nounen is much better choice i think. And i think as someone have mentioned earlier kento yamazaki and sakurako ohara really does fitting to ne the real life ren and ninako. Kento hav these silent and subtle emotion acting that didnt exaggerate the emotion by over acting or big facial expressin cause that's how ren is. And sakurako have these cheerful vibrant vibe surrounding her acting. Not to mentionn she is quite cute especially when she smile. Hopefully these opinion of mine might change after actually watching the movie when it comes out. But right now not so good impression i've got for this adaptation.

yuri Nov 14 2014 4:15 am Sota fukushi and arimura kasumi quite often play in same drama but both never be paired(more often just like unrequited love from kasumi). I think this movie producer just want to make this people to be paired couple or maybe they saw chemistry between this people n just want to make it real. I think sota fukushi more handsome in this movie than in sukitte i nayo and i think sota fukushi like ren in real live. Can't wait for this movie >,<)

Their look in that drama really resembles that of the manga characters...well, the closest we can get is from the anime...so i'll just pray strobe edge gets animate...hehe

I wish they just cast haruma miura as Ren! I mean let's be real, casting an eye candy leading man can motivate you to watch the movie more! oh well i wish the movie will be as good as the manga and seeing this man is in demand for leading roles, I hope he acts Ren closely. still >_< haruma T_T
