A long time ago, 12 zodiac angels fought against evil spirits to protect the human race. Thanks to the sacrifice of the angels, the evil forces were sealed in the gate of Hell. Peace was also found. But, evil again awakens and the human world is thrown into chaos. Against a group of evil beings, including O-Gwi (Park Hyung-Sik), the 12 zodiac angels, led by Tae-San (Ma Dong-Seok), who symbolizes the tiger, enter into an epic battle.

blah May 28 2026 6:02 pm i rarely drop shows korean or otherwise. this is one of the exceptions.

it's clear as day ma dong-seok wanted to ride that eternals high for quite a bit longer when he co-wrote this and koreanized the mcu film's key properties. but this is just nope. no amount of acting can gloss over the paper-thin story and sloppy worldbuilding. intriguing at first, but falls apart the longer you keep watching

numerous commenters here and elsewhere share largely the same sentiments. the internet's judgement is right on this one. do yourself a favor and find a better use of your time if you still haven't seen it yet

This drama has interesting synopsis plot but it's nothing really. The drama got nothing. They don't have good script at all. Like at all! The whole drama is a filler!

Now i understand why they struggle to find channel to distribute this drama early. Because it's shitty!

K-drama Holic Nov 28 2025 12:32 am The drama isn't that bad. It has heavy action and fighting scenes, it makes me wonder if the drama purpose is to showcase the actors combat skills. Feels like the writers only give the casts "You're angel that has protect the humans" and leave them to do improvisation. It can be developed better. The acting of the actors/actresses are not bad but not good either. Well, if you like action packed drama and you like any of the casts, you should watch it. But if not, just skip it.

No plot, no point, no reason to root for the characters... just, Nothing. This drama was created to market a chicken restaurant, Kopiko and cell phones. Absolute rubbish. Don't waste your time watching this.

The episodes were filled with nonsensical filler scenes that added nothing to the non-existent plot. Angels in human form with no special powers? Why? Someone please tell me what was the point of this drama.

Wendie Oct 06 2025 6:19 pm I had high hopes for this show because I love a supernatural concept, the ✨expensive✨ cast, and Park Hyung Sik’s visuals. Sadly I struggled to finish all 8 episodes because the plot was inconsistent, predictable, and lazy. The actors/actresses did try to salvage what they could but you can’t really hide poor writing. The characters felt really flat and their relationships (familiar, platonic, romantic, etc) felt forced. With just 8 episodes, I felt like the show spent more time on the product placement than the actual plot. And CGI on Ogwi’s wings were just a no.

I dunno if the eps were shortened due to ratings but if this has more eps this drama might been so great, the story of each characters could've been more emphasized, the love story between Mirr and Ogwi should be more elaborated and the powers of each of them should be emphasized more as well. I still give 8/10 for this for the sake of actors. This is still not a waste.

K0ki Oct 05 2025 3:02 pm I had high hopes for Twelve because of the amazing cast — Park Hyung Sik, Seo In Guk, and Sung Dong Il — but it turned out to be a confusing mess. The plot made little sense, the graphics were poor, and the writing felt self-serving, with the writer giving himself the best role but delivering weak acting. What could’ve been great ended up being a disappointing, chaotic show.

All this huge cast and big names and a story that is overly rushed and all over the place. The fight scenes were so cringe,like they moved so slow and barely know how to fight when they are a few thousand years old. It was jumping all over the place and considering the drama is called 12, 4 of the signs are not even there. It could have been promising and was highly anticipated but fell very short with just the way the direction went

I am so sad to see those actors wasting their talent for drama like this. Is it because you dont have more budget? Or you just want to finish off the filming quickly and get it air on time? I dont know who your main sponsor, but this is absolutely tiring and saddening to see. I try to find a good thing i can for the entire episode, but i cant. The theme is lacking here and there. I mean, Devil Should Be Meaner, Even Their Minion. And i dont know why angel could be like a clown. Atleast give only 2 or 3 angel who have funny character. Its like, Are You Trying To Make Sci-Fi Comedy drama here? I laugh out loud when jwidol eat bangwool herbs and end with mouth fill with poison. But thats all. Thats all. Please. Please if you really want to make for season 2, consider finding a good director and strong storyline.

The demons were weak no brutality at all.. My Demon was 100 times better than this.. I don't like that guy with Tiger clothes ,why everyone likes him ,he is always putting his signature where ever he is , was it necessary for him to be on this series or maybe he is the investor ..truly disappointed. I only watched because of Park Hysik .

I was really looking forward for it to be released but I was greatly disappointed, it must be the dumbest show I have watched in a long time… I just finished the 5th episode and I only expect it to get worse. No wonder why the ratings kept plummeting after the 1st episode. Writing is so bad that I wholeheartedly agree with someone else who said it must have been written by AI

So apparently in the 5th episode we can see Sung Dong-il waving his little wand and vanquishing the evil spirits with ease. So why didn’t he use it during the previous episodes?! LOL He only used it during that underground parking lot fight scene but instead of vanquishing them he just froze them for a few seconds… SMH And this is just the tip of the ridiculousness iceberg. I’m guessing he could use it to cure the old lady as well but whatever…

Rebecca Bruce Sep 15 2025 9:14 am This KDrama was a hot mess of a lame script with a nonsensical storyline which made the acting woeful. Zilch character development with little or dumb back stories. This was either a botched AI production or it was made by students in the first year of film school.

The costumes and hair were from an 80s rock band mixed in with road kill. The sets and scenery looked cheap and thrown together by either a low budget or just lazy film crew.

The director, writers and the producers should be really embarrassed for even allowing this to air. The actors should fire their agents as no wonder none of them really promoted this.

Mr Critic Sep 15 2025 3:31 am I just finished watching the whole episode, and honestly, there was no real character development. Viewers only get about 5–10 minutes to immerse themselves in O-Gwi and Mir’s love story, which makes it almost impossible to feel any real connection.

In one of the episode, Geum-Soon gets captured by the evils, and I remember Marok protecting her like a helpless human while the angel was fighting. Maybe in the same episode or the next, right before Marok was about to die, he suddenly became super powerful, defeating tons of evils and showing off his strength. I was like, seriously? While the angel was struggling and nearly losing while protecting Geum-Soon, Marok was just standing there. Later, they tried to explain it away by saying Marok needed time to heal his power and couldn’t use it continuously which honestly just felt like lame writing.

The whole show comes across as a weak “angels vs. darkness” setup, with Ma Dong-Seok portrayed as the great hero swooping in to save the day. The plot is extremely straightforward no twists, just the same cycle of fight → sudden power-up → victory. Then they try to add suspense in the final episode to hint at a possible season 2, which I highly doubt will ever happen given how weak the script is.

I also remember the part where Samin used dark magic on the dead zodiac body, letting evil possess it. After Samin died, the dead zodiac suddenly came back to life. Like… why? How did that even make sense? Did I miss something?

I seen some comments defending the show, but honestly, if you think this is good quality, it probably just means you haven’t watched many shows before which is understandable.

Loved the mythology and traditional Asian elements. The special effects were fantastic. Totally loved Park Hung Sik, wow...he did a stunning job making his character both feared and pitied. He was fantastic. The whole set, photography, costumes, script, and direction was great. Totally loved this. They better have another season...we need more of Park Hung Sik...just didn't get enough.

But i felt like each episode was just a combination of one introduction episode that just dragged out everything just to essentially get no where. I really was wanting to like this show, but i felt like it wasted the talents of phenomenal actors/actresses. I also felt like throughout the whole drama some things were just missing that should’ve been there but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what they were supposed to be as if they were left in limbo. Kinda like portions of the storyline were missing. Idk, i just felt a bit bored and wished they done more with park hyungsik’s character as well. Him just standing around talking and staring most of the time just pretty much is a waste of his acting.

They even cast a Taiwanese actress that doesn't speak Korean and says nothing. The fight scenes are so sad that they have to shake the camera just to make it look more exciting. The acting is terrible in this from most of the cast especially Ahn Ji-Hye who usually isn't this bad.

LetsEatPopcorn Sep 08 2025 11:02 pm I dropped this drama at 2nd episode. The character setting is so ridiculous. The leader so called "Angel" hates humans and doesn't want to do anything for human. Instead of secluding himself from humans, he's still living among them and lends money to human as a loan shark. The plot itself is so predictable. The Angel teams will fight against the devil to save the world. And the plot twist will be the relationship between the "Dragon" and the "Devil". This is a K-drama, of course there's a need for romance. Someone needs to tell Ma Dong Seok that he doesn't have talent for writing.

Because the writer and director in here has barely to no experience in writing or directing. nothing under their name. their portfolio is zero, i think they just made this series a Training Ground. poor thing. they should have hired a rookie actors/actress because they are super wasted in here.

I was expecting so much from this series, but to be honest, i feel so disappointed and sleepy. Concept good, execution Worst. Ma Dong-Seok, you should stick to acting and hire Good Writers And Directors Instead.

So i think if this kdrama show us fantasy action like scene fighting, it will hook many viewer... For example... The uncanny counter . More powerfull- hook viewer to keep watching- exciting. .

But for this drama, i think its boring.. even there have many popular actor / good actor in there.

Cahhh Sep 03 2025 10:57 am I don’t see anything wrong about this drama, if you look deep into the first 4 episodes you would understand that the yeah they were 12 angels and the four that were laid down were killed by someone if you watched the drama very much well so I hope to see more exciting flashbacks if you don’t understand the flashbacks then you can’t understand the scene moreover the angels lost there powers probably when trying to seal the Hellgate More flashbacks more exciting scenes

It's another type of drama where the events are not in the right order but going back to the past and making us understand things smartly without explicitly telling them! Only smart people can get this and follow. I agree most of the good actors are not even talking too much, and everything is slow! But, there is a story and feelings and feelings It's a battle drama and not a family or romance drama, more like a video game. So please stop wasting your time by watching it and stop commenting here..

ScottW Sep 02 2025 10:32 am Wow what a train wreck of a series! The script is bad the directing is terrible and the acting worse. Considering I like most of the actors in this series and all have done great performances in the past I can’t believe how bad the chemistry is between them all and nothing seems real even the implanted advertisements are hammed up so much it’s hard to watch. I agree with previous comments that there is no character development or real plot development to get you engaged with the story it just seems like the whole production was not well thought through and the actors have been left nothing to work with. As a result they are all just standing around wondering what’s going on here. How it has a rating of 94 so far is beyond me as most of the comments are very negative, there is a disconnect there. My rating would be 70 which is very low for this particular site. If it was IMDB it would be around 3.4! The last time I felt duped by a kdrama like this was The Uncanny Counter 2 which was so much worse than the good first season of that show.

The story seemed promising, and the cast was full of actors I genuinely like, so I expected one of the best KDramas of the year. The opening fight scenes with Ma Dong-Seok, especially the slow-motion touches, felt different and gave me hope they were trying something new.

But four episodes in, disappointment set in. The plot is scattered, the “12 zodiacs” mostly sit around having meals, and the so-called villains just show up occasionally to stand around without real impact. The story feels aimless, with pacing so slow it kills any tension. At first, I wondered if my expectations were skewed because I had recently watched more intense action dramas, but reading other viewers’ comments confirmed it wasn’t just me; the show really is dragging.

The biggest letdown is how wasted the talent is. It feels as though the production paid for a star-studded cast but forgot to give them a real script. With Ma Dong-Seok co-writing, the lack of structure makes sense. He’s a brilliant action actor, but storytelling clearly isn’t his strength. Even the fight scenes, which should have been this drama’s highlight, fall flat.

What could have been bold and exciting instead turned into a failure. Ma Dong-Seok should stick to what he does best on screen and leave the writing to more experienced hands.

G Sep 01 2025 7:39 am Utterly duped into believing this show would be focusing on the 12 zodiac signs and the supposed powers they would be showing off. It might as well just be about Taesan and his henchmen. It’s like a typical Ma Dong Seok movie where he is the main person who does the punching and the rescuing, because the others (younger and fitter and more physically attractive) are all fodder. No character development, no real plot, no sense of urgency in anything. With only 8 episodes, time is wasted on supporting characters who aren’t even part of the angels group. Who cares about the old lady and her old male friend? Seriously one of the worst fantasy k dramas I have ever watched. Can’t believe it’s being rated so highly here.

I am watching it because of the star-studded cast but I simply keep an open mind and watch how the story unfolds. The CGI is great, the acting so far has been ok. the only thing I didn't get is why call it twelve when you are only going to do the show with 8 angels? From Ep 3, we see that 4 angels had been killed which made Taesan so protective about his family and refusing to help humans. for those complaining so far, I suggest you stopped watching and not waste more time writing silly comments like this.

None of the characters feel engaging, and even the zodiac vs. darkness concept is poorly executed. The plot feels flat, with no emotion, and the darkness side isn’t even threatening just vague. For an 8-episode drama, I doubt they can tie everything together. It’ll probably stay slow, then rush at the end. With so many good actors, the weak script feels like a waste. Also, revealing in episode 3 that the zodiac has no powers killed my interest. If they suddenly gain powers in episode 7 or 8, it’s just going to feel forced and lame.

First Ep si ok!! Mid to last bits are the only good ones tbh cgi is wonderful (for now, i hope they keep pushing out good effects :) )

The acting is Americanized with fast short scenes, no real conversation and no real character development. Nothing is natural and everything is scripted. You dont know the characters enough to care about them. It is sad, because these are amazing actors with nothing to really work with. With this many characters, this needs to be 20 episodes. It's from Disney, a failing dynasty, which explains a lot. I am american, rarely watch American shows. Korean directors do not need to copy bad. Your much better.

tae-san = tiger won-seung = monkey (wonseung means monkey) mirr = dragon (mi-reu means dragon) do-ni = pig kang-ji = dog jwi-dol = mouse (jwi is mouse) mal-sook = horse (mal is horse) bang-wool = snake (assuming they used snake venom for theatment) yangmi = goat (yang is sheep) dalgi = rooster

only left with ox and rabbit but heard that they will only be the guest role so

Great, stellar casting, the best photography and special effects, costumes, the whole package here. Agree hand combat could be better, but wait a few eps and they will be better. Love the cast and yes, the bad guy is so very Dashing.

The fighting scenes are laughable, the plot is weak, and the acting is a joke .I was yawning and could not focus at all during these two episodes. From the moment I saw the synopsis, I thought it would be bad, and I was so right. I doubt it will get better.

The actors also doesnt have chemistry with each other. The taiwanese actress doesnt have a dialogue probably bec she isnt fluent in korean lol

Was the dog scene really necessary? It was like 10 minutes of nothing relevant to the storyline. Characters are not being developed. I haven’t connected with anyone. It feels like they’re going in circles and actually giving us nothing. In the last minute, they give us a fighting scene and it was very cringe to watch the transitions were not good and almost felt like a choreography that didn’t well landed. Oh my God, I was so waiting for something similar to judge from hell from last year, but I don’t know if I should keep watching this.
