Kang In-Kyu’s father was brutally murdered 13 years ago. To take revenge on those who are responsible for his father’s death, he becomes a doctor. Kang In-Kyu volunteers at a prison medical office where the murderer is imprisoned.

I am surprised that I am enjoying watching “Cross”. The surgical scenes involving cutting into and working inside a patient’s body in the hospital operating theater are convincing and not too frightening to watch. I am not very fond of any dark/noir story; however, I decide to watch “Cross” because the “method” actor Jin Yi Han/Kim Ji Han is on this drama.

The story involves illegal organ harvesting and trafficking. It is rather an eye opener for naïve people, how cruel the illegal organ business is. In the beginning episodes, Actor Go Kyung Pyo as Dr. Kang In Kyu with his cold and unfriendly stare appear to be unnatural. He seems to be hesitant in interpreting his character, but he grows into his character and his stare softens when he is dealing with dying patients. His performance is engaging when he is showing his gentle side.

Both female lead characters, Dr. Go Ji In (actress Jeon So Min) and Dr. Son Yeon Hee (actress Yang Jin Sung) make “Cross” drama lighter with their bright smiles. Their appearance is a welcome and brighten this dark/noir drama.

As always, Heo Sung Tae does not disappoint portraying a ringleader in this illegal organ harvesting and trafficking, Kim Hyung Beom. He accomplishes his interpretation as the evil character that I dislike passionately.

I am unhappy to see character Dr. Go Jung Hoon (Portrayed by Actor Jo Jae Hyun) is eliminated in the middle of the drama series. He is a fine actor. Dr. Go works as a catalyst in the story; he is an authentic, benevolent, and empathic doctor that sticks to his principles and moral values.

However, when Dr. Go Jung Hoon is killed, character Dr. Lee Joo Hyuk (portrayed by actor Jin Yi Han/Kim Yi Han) appears more in the subsequent episodes, and he seems to be taking over the catalyst personality and moves the story forward. Dr. Lee’s coconut bob haircut seems to indicate that he is a rebellious and righteous son that always disagrees with his weak doctor father regarding medical ethical matters. It is a delight to watch actor Jin Yi Han in “Cross”.

The mutually collegial respect between Dr. Kang In Kyu and Dr. Lee Joo Hyuk with their own personal goal and need tie the loose ends together in the last four episodes that conclude the drama.

I had watched Dr. Romantic season1 season2, hospital ship,yongpal,good doctor, doctor crush, doctor john but this one has an exceptional storyline and every episode is so unpredictable. Definitely must see. You won't regret it.

9/10 (ajs) May 22 2019 6:40 pm If you enjoy thrillers/mystery like 'Stranger', I'd say this was a strong competitor. Acting is phenomenal and the writer did so well despite obstacles. There are some romantic undertones but it is NOT a romance so nothing is really acted upon.

The best thing about this drama is, it keeps you on your toes. You're always guessing, especially when things seem predictable or as if they were revealed too soon. Also, they did really well with small bits of comic relief, some parts I genuinely laughed out loud.

I am so upset its over but it had a satisfying ending.

Also to the med student, sis, no one cares if we wanted accuracy we'd watch a documentary or something.

Pri May 22 2018 3:18 pm Just an average drama....poor acting by almost the entire cast... especially actress Yang Jin Sung( dr. Son) was too cutesy to look real....she simply looked too made up to look like a real doc....Kang In Kyo must have had an iron skull, as he kept getting knocked out or tasered down almost throughout the series and yet managed to deliver some fine action scenes...phew!!! ...Go kyung po needs to improve his acting skills as well....his expressions were lame and his eyes did not emote much...I somehow managed to sit through the series with the help of the fast fwd button....all in all, an absolutely forgettable drama ☹️

Daria May 17 2018 2:29 pm On the comment below, you're only distracted by that just by the mere fact that you know what's right from wrong since you're a medstudent. Hence why nothing of it bothered me at all (even when nothing seemed logical at all, just took a big breath and went on with my life) and the performances and storyline were just pulling me along... I love watching medical drama's but I wouldn't expect anything from what they picture would come close to reality... which I guess can be frustrating but I'm here for the storyline not to learn how to perform CPR nor organ transplants.

This series really kicked off 2018 for me, I'm excited what other drama's will bring. Gyung Pyo, my dear, thank you for your performance^^

yodrma May 11 2018 7:42 am As a medstud, i was very frustrated with the drama. most medical procedures in the drama were wrong and dont make sense at all. like srsly, hitting the lead actor near his ear but the bleeding was from the forehead? a premature baby in 32 weeks gestation age appear to be very fine and seems very big and not given any oxygen at the recusitation? doing a chest compression during cpr only with 1 hand? using defibrillator in every cardiac arrest patient and doing cpr suddenly to patient that has declining blood pressure due to hypovol shock? giving combination of drugs -- naproxen, itraconazole, acetaminophen -- that will cause heart insufficiency and infection and made the pt die in 1 week? and the lead actress is standing next to and touching the lead actor when he already wearing a sterile surgical gown? like srsly? i would be kicked out and blacklisted from the surgery room if i did that.

The writer seems just write with his own imagination without doing research at all. Very dissapointed because the drama is airing in tvn. Really not recommend this drama. If you want to watch a medical drama, i really recommend romantic doctor, teacher kim, more realistic and make sense.

Don't you know i'm a...nctzen Mar 29 2018 1:46 am 8/10 for me. I like the main character as in the main actor playing the role well. I think the characters in here great except for Ji In, I love Somin but her character is a bit plain. At first her role seemed like she is strong individual, the cool one who isn't scared of people. But then I don't know they kinda forgot about her role and the character became plain. This drama has no romance at all except the family love so that's something to be cautious of. If you like surgery and medical stuff, I think it would be fun to watch. There are some thriller scenes too, those are intense I love them.

If we expect this show focusing 100% medical or surgery in 1 hour airing so it's not a drama but a documentary. All scenes are related. The main cast is not just want to take revenge but to prevent more illegal organ trade. His father deal was just to sell his liver (the business card he called) but at the end, other organs also were removed.

I can't guessing about the plot, but I enjoyed it. maybe because I just bored with com-romance dramas which very easy and so predictable, and I also love medical drama. this drama not the best one, but it is worth to watch.

This drama started really promising, i like especially Go Kyung Pyo and Jeon S Min's acting, they really bring the character to life with their flaws and all. Kang In Kyu and Go Ji In certainly not the typical kdrama leads, they're more like usual anti heroes in korean movies. Watching many korean thriller movie made me realize this drama is more like typical korean thriller than kdramas. Unfortunately, due to Jo Jae Hyun scandal, the script change made the drama a little bit messy after ep 8. Still worth to watch tho, illegal organ trafficking still is rare topic in kdramas.

The writer and director don’t seem to care that the medical procedures, processes etc are completely ridiculous - no medical pro could watch this without cringing. I know I can’t. And minimum research (hey, even watching the competition) would have made it more realistic. No excuse.

But worse is the total lack of ethics, let alone morals, of the main character -basically the guy is torturing and attempting murder and his excuse - this man killed my dad - doesn’t get him off the hook. I’ve lost all sympathy for his revenge, wish his foster dad had turned him in or done more than he did, and BTW his dad ought to stop practicing with those vision problems.

The women aren’t given any depth or brains - the female ER doc especially comes off as totally ignorant ... enough! I’m hanging up the series, its few positives are overwhelmed by sloppy script, ridiculous characters.

He’s not exactly a subtle actor: repeatedly glowering for any number of scenes, or simultaneously curling his lip, knitting his eyebrows, and widening his eyes for other scenes are apparently his sole acting skills. Even the bad guy is cartoonish and predictable. It’s all getting tedious.

i ship KIK and the ER doc.... they should finally have a happy ending here together coz their love lines were cut short in chicago typewriter lols...they have more chemistry that the female lead...

i like the way they tell the story, it's like all the cards are out on the table and so we're left here scratching our heads and duh?what's next? hahaha that's what you call suspense.. you have to stick to the drama to find out what more can KIK do to get to the bottom of things...what more can the evil villain do to piss us off lols...

I mean at the starting plot ,the actor with all his tough quiet attitude looked like he had all his revenge plot well prepared in advance.But he was found out so so easily and so so early. There is no more thrills and mystery to watch out for. His sister’s heart was donated to that gorgeous short haired doctor. The hospital has some connections to the organ trafficking thing. Whats more......

Sian Feb 04 2018 6:55 am i like the character and i like watching surgical drama but you cannot hide the sadness while watching this is why i don't like doctors and reporters, my experience has a similarity with this drama my father also dies win a cancer and that time we don't have enough money even though my father was first to arrive in the hospital the doctors choose to save thee person who have a lot of money and power so for me i think the most irritating job in this world is being a DOCTOR and REPORTER

I've watched his dramas and he is truly a versatile actor. The first two episodes gave me chills already. The plot alone is very intriguing and intense. Now I find it hard to wait for another week for more episodes huhuhu. Looking forward of how the story will unfold...

Yang jinsung outshine Somin(even with her supershort airtime), gyungpyo didnt have enough x factor to carry the show(you know good looking but nothing special, can act but not an A-list). You want the leads to be together but at the same time you want the mysteries to open up. It was just 2 eps and I was so busy watching it... After just between lovers I thought another drAma cannot melt my heart but give this drama a go... The start tells you about that intensity that you face in the whole drama... The scenes shot are great. The story line is cool. Best drama 2018!!

AbigOlWhale2 Jan 30 2018 11:33 pm The first two episodes introduced this story awesomely! Important characters have been introduced and we have a clear understanding of their relationship with each other. The rest of the story will unfold why they have either good or bad ties.

The intensity is well delivered by all the actors, the music and the directing. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen because I was scared I would miss something important, and I love it.

Cross is off to a great start!

When Jeon So-min smiles my ice melts, I smile too! She's a wonderful talented actress in serious roles too. I am so glad she shared a part of her life with us in Running Man! Can't wait to watch!
