Life goes on for the five friends and the people around them at Yulje Medical Center. Ahn Jeong-Won (Yoo Yeon-Seok) and Jang Gyeo-Wool (Shin Hyun-Bin) are ready to take the next step in their relationship. Jang Gyeo-Wool becomes rattled over frequent visits from a patient's mother. Yang Seok-Hyeong (Kim Dae-Myung) receives a visit from his ex-wife (Park Ji-Yeon). Chae Song-Hwa (Jeon Mi-Do) travels back and forth from Seoul and takes on a VIP client. Lee Ik-Joon (Cho Jung-Seok) takes on an urgent liver transplant case between a father and son. Kim Jun-Wan (Jung Kyoung-Ho) is busy as ever, but worries about his friend Lee Ik-Joon. A ping pong tournament takes place at the hospital and the five friends also take a much needed vacation together, but not everyone is able to make it.

hcney Jul 15 2023 5:08 am im so glad that i didnt drop this drama again. the more i watch it, the more i wish every ep would be longer. their friendship's is so humourous, the way they care to each other, they support each other and more. this drama is more to healing drama, so there would be less or no conflict. their songs were good too. i still cant move on with "met you by chance" in S1, that was a superb performance, ive been listening to it on spotify. i hope there will be S3

These drama helped us through the first years of Pandemic. I don't know, But Now I appreciate dramas that portraying about LIFE lessons. Appreciating the life you have, loving the people around you and don't be shy (or ashamed) to say 'I Love You' to your family, relatives, friends or even to your special someone.

Some dramas are not that healing, but that's life. When we lose someone important to us, we never heal. We just keep on going on.

Steffanie Feb 07 2022 6:57 pm Season 2 is so much better than season 1 in my opinion. I also love the songs they played in season 2 as well.

I have to say though that I am kind of disappointed that they did not get to play live at least once, or at least live streamed, or recorded their sessions. I was really hoping to see them perform at each other's weddings, or their Rosa's birthday, or at a hospital event, or they could be featured by Mon Ae's dad in 1 of his shows.

It would have been better they would have at least showed what happened in the future. Like after they got married, and they are all still working in the same hospital, and are still having jamming sessions. Ik Jun's line was sad when he said "why do I get a feeling that this is our last jamming session." A 10 minute video in the would actually suffice.

All the characters were so lovable. Min Ha was my favorite. The band was so talented. I already knew Jung Seok could play the guitar and sing from Oh My Ghost.

The hospital seemed to have been featured in a lot of dramas. I am also currently watching Ghost Doctor and they shot the drama in this hospital as well. I also remember it in a lot of others as well. Must be a famous hospital.

ad Nov 15 2021 9:08 pm Season 2 was way better IMO. The series focused more on the main characters' stories and gave a better vibe of how close the characters really are. The 1st season seemed a bit everywhere on the stories and was hard to focus on. I like this format better than the 1st season.

I wouldn't complain if there's not another season. The writer did a great job with each characters closure but also leaving a possibility for another season. 93/100

Noi Oct 14 2021 12:52 pm Not as wholesome as Season 1. In this season, they tend to lack focus on each patient, and there's no "big theme" to connect all patients in one episode. In season 1, every episode has its own "story"/"theme" even if they have different patients. In this season, they just focus on the doctors relationships, yet they all seems rushed. I remember there's a young orphan patient whose story they ignored. It actually the one I sympathize the most but they didn't tell the rest of her story or maybe I skipped the scenes? Anyway, it just didn't wrapped up as nice as I expected.

Teume Sep 26 2021 12:54 pm I just finished watching this drama, it's very exciting, I love all the moments of the 5 best friends. the moment where Ikjun who always fights with Junwan haha, Jeongwon who always pays attention, Seokyeong who always accompanies his mother. And Songhwa who likes to eat and the singing voice that squeals haha. I hope there's still a season 3. Because for me it's still a little hanging (waiting for them to get married) :v Oh yeah, there's a scene that still makes me laugh when producer Na Yeongseok feels offended even though he looks like himself wkwk. I even recorded it because it was so funny. And one more thing I like the scene of Chu Minha who doesn't give up chasing doctor Yang.

Jan Sep 24 2021 4:48 am The perfect kdrama. I enjoyed every moment of it, and never had anything to complain about. It was just had everything you would want from a show and how you'd want it to make you feel. Not to mention how nice it was to always have a kdrama I was continuously watching this past year. It made me grow attached to it so the thought of it being over right now makes me feel empty ( they said if season 3 is going to be made it won't be any time soon). However, I am content with where it ended and will always remember this kdrama as one of the best :)

Maybe the reason why the end of season 2 like its the end of the whole drama because (maybe) they need time to adjust everything again. For example, the storyline itself has many developments that need adjustment. And maybe they need a break from an intensive practice. We know that some of actors has different project ahead, so their focus for now is for that. Hopely this series will comeback with final seasons in the next 2 or 3 years.

Erina Sep 17 2021 9:34 am Sorry but the ending did not deliver at all. Once again, like in many other instances in season 2, many scenes seemed like they were copy pasted and there was no flow. Why would I need to see Seok-Hyeong go to the hospital three times instead of seeing him in a meaningful last scene with Min-A or her meeting with his mother? I'd much rather see the winter garden couple planning their trip to the US, or at least an engagement as it was mentioned many times before. We never saw U-ju. For a character like Ikjun to whom family is so important, you would expect a scene with him U-ju and Song Hwa... And last but no least, no importance was given to the interns and residents who we learned to love.... Too much focus on the patients and meaningless details on the last episode, in my opinion. Their stories were very moving but one would expect the last episode to give the main characters more time... Just like someone else said in the comments, it felt like a student rushing their exam because there was no time... A lot of build up and no delivery. The only character who got a fair ending, was imo the lovely Jae Hak

I really enjoyed this drama, it's so touching and heartwarming, the love stories from the five main casts, the stories from the patients and family and the lives of doctors and nurses in the hospital. Gives me much information and knowledge about diseases that I've never heard before and the struggles from the surgeons to cure them. I just can't imagine how tired they are in real life as surgeons. This drama has no villain, that's why I love it. Season 3, why not?? I will love it.

After the big scene blowup in an earlier show I thought they would follow up. Could have provided a lot of laughs. But all in all a great ending, we know now there will not be a 3rd season.

At least Ik Sun got to embrace Jun Wan but i still feel that corners were cut because their reconciliation is too brief and even ambigous, considering what they had been through. The same with the other 2 couple. Highlight is still Ik Jun and Seong Hwa, camping together. Will there be no HP3?

Fran E Aug 31 2021 4:26 am Hospital playlist is such a heart warming experience for the viewer which will make you go through so much mixed emotions. I’m pretty sure I cried and laughed my head off in the span of half an hour. I understand why some people may criticise season 2 as it has been inconsistent with trying to retain the balance between the doctors life and patients stories but then again PD did warn us it would be more devoted to the characters that we were introduced to in the first season. I also miss the clever twist from season 1 like the fact we were made to believe gyeoul fancied ikjun and that junwan was the friend in love with Songhwa and not ikjun that we would later come to know. I just really appreciated the directing and such precision it took to manipulate the viewer into thinking certain things about characters which would turn out the opposite. It stroke me as very intelligent. In season 2 we get a few instances like this but not as well executed although it seems that they were in a rush to get out the script etc as some episodes have been delayed so far. To be honest I can’t write a correct review on the series as it isn’t finished yet and I’m constantly wondering how it will end. My review of the season so far is positive as it has revoked the same emotions as season 1 did in me however the trope they did for bidulgi was a bit of a dry patch. But then again I think to myself, this series is not perfect and I shouldn’t place it on such a high pedestal being a slice of life drama. It’s unpredictable in that way.

ABC Aug 31 2021 12:24 am I guess the Shin WonHo PD knew we couldn't move on from Reply Series and Prison Playbook characters, and that's why he made this multi-seasonal.

I don't mind getting one episode a week for this quality and so much BTS videos on YouTube. And the cast keep saying that this was utopia, to work on this drama. South Korean is known for their work ethics, i.e. overworking. So it is great that the P.D. emphasizes he wants better working conditions for the actors and staff.

Even the senior cast is so much fun to watch. Who knew Kim Kap Soo could play such a cute character, I had only seen him as bad guys (K2).

Junwan is my favorite, but I love all of them. And I love it when Kim DaeMyung talks to his patients. He's made me cry several times.

They're skipping a week again. I guess I have to rewatch older episodes.

Like Song Hwa, who portrays as someone good at her being a doctor, colleague, and friend. But despite all that being good, she missed checking on her mom. She is irritated whenever her mom calls her, not knowing that her Mom is already sick.

Anyway, its your opinion. I just wanted to point that out. Episode 8 has been the most touching to me. I cried a lot on that one.

HP does not cater who loves drastic plot of drama or romance which people see in other Kdrama. Hospital Playlist caters people who wants comfort from everyday lives. It lets people see what goes on in a hospital and how people deals their problem everyday. Remember that this is the second installment after Prison Playbook. PP does not also have a dramatic plot which is the same for HP. So if you’re not for a drama who caters comfort and life lessons, HP is not for you. Yes, it has a plot for every character, but they aren’t focusing too much with the 5 friends even they are the main lead because it might get distant with their intention for the drama. People who appreciated this kind of drama usually loves theory (There Are So Many Theory With Just Single Poster In The BG LOL), people who works in the medical field, and people who just wants a comfort. No dramatic plots, pure reality, and comfort is what HP talks about.

But no episode 8 of season and barely a thing has happened. It is really like watching paint dry. It is so monotone. The one story line that is somewhat interesting the sister of the Dr. being sick and they barely show anything about it.

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like this season is just getting more and more boring :/ like nothing has happened and we are already at ep. 7.... Like it’s a medical drama but I feel like they have shifted the focus on romance which is fine for me... as long as it’s interesting, however it just isn’t. Winter garden couple is ngl low key boring at this point Lovey dovey couple has no progress and the same goes for ikjun & songhwa. And I just feel bad for minha at this point.

not even motivated to watch anymore, which is such a shame, because I absolutely loved season 1.

It is very balanced, they don't keep the focus on just one genre, there are many genres in this drama. It keeps the viewer interested and relaxed. I love that each single person story will be shown at least once in the drama. it seems like they want to deliver the message that every person is important and has his own story of life. I want to thank the staff for choosing the right actors for the right roles. I love the relationship between the 5 leads they are very funny, sweet and the bond between them is strong. I also like the idea that whatever happens for them through their day they will always gather together at the end of the day <3

(i love Winter Garden storyline, but i don't like if the story is too much about them) ... It had 5 main casts, but it has balanced among them n among all supporting cast (family & hospital) ...

This drama have special place in my heart, cause it came at the right time First season starts when my mom was in hospital (and it was in the beginning of covid's pandemic too), but she didn't have covid ... So it is too scary to come to hospital ... But this drama gave comfort too . Since last year, I must go to hospital twice a week for my mom hemodialysis, so this drama is my comfort during in hospital. It make me laugh sometimes when I was in hospital.

I love Winter Garden couple soooo much but they have to focus on others too who do not have 'endgame' yet (at least, Jeongwon & Gyeoul are enjoying their dates so far...although it looks like there may be a problem occurs in ep 5 teaser, who knows). Also, HosPlay is not fully comedy drama (although there will be many gag moments for sure...esp as long as Ikjun & Do Jae Hak are there) so they have no responsibility to make people laugh All The Time. Not only the casts' stories, I like the stories of patients too. They are touching and some of them are sad. It has many life lessons. Judging a drama should have to wait until all episodes are done. There are only 4 episodes so far. So who knows, I may change my opinion or not....but so far, I like it. Everyone may have different taste, simply that. If you're too focused on one thing, you'll miss many other things that can be beautiful too.

I believe most people won't agree but imo Ikjun and Seonghwa have too many on-cam interaction under "will they won't they" trope. Yes the winter couple has that too in season1 but the reason I like winter couple is because the struggle is the one that happening most of the time on-cam, while the romantic gesture are only shown in little dose or flashback. But overall still a solid drama.

It is an interesting prediction as Lee Kyu Hyung former character in Shin Won Ho PD drama Wise Prison Life is also a pharmacist.

Love the friendship between the five of them and them having separate partners in their life instead of a couple in the group. Love Ik Jun and Songhwa chemistry as best friends but not as romantic couple.

Just asking Jun 20 2021 3:07 pm @Jen, I just found an article where Kim Joon-Han, the actor of the character Ahn Chi-Hong, told that he unfortunately won’t be seen in the 2nd season and that he will be ready to return to his role if Ahn Chi-Hong is needed someday :’( So it seems that the writer just cut him off the whole drama. I really liked Kim Joon-Han in One Spring Night and I liked his acting in Hospital Playlist as well. I was really waiting to see him again.

I usually watch around 30 to 40 dramas each year but I only find 5 or 6 dramas that ill rewatch. I have watched these 12 episodes so many times I can't even count. after watching a drama like penthouse or skycastle you would need this drama to calm yourself.
