When he was a child, Yong-Hoo's (Park Seo-Jun) father died in an accident. Yong-Hoo has distrusted and resented people since then. Now, Yong-Hoo is champion in martial arts. He meets Priest An (Ahn Sung-Ki). Priest An is also an exorcist. They get involved in a case and must fight a powerful evil.

Notes

Director Kim Joo-Hwan and actor Park Seo-Jun previously worked together in 2017 film "Midnight Runners."
Filming began August 14, 2018.
Actress Esom was first cast to make a special appearance as Nun Teresa, but, due to her busy filming schedule for JTBC drama series "The 3rd Charm," Esom had to drop out. Kim Si-Eun was then cast to play the character.

Almost all the actors did their best. One of the best horror movies. Highly recommend this to all who like watching dark horror movies.

Not even read the synopsis at first (my bad!) so kinda surprised its about exorcism :'D same as comment below, it's an okay movie. Not that great, just okay. For exorcism movie this is not horror so thanks god i can finished it. The plot actually good but i think the editing and detail kinda mess. Kudos to the exorcism scenes and the cast acting, everyone did a great job!!!

Bottom line: You're not missing much if you miss out on this one.

this is a great movie! the acting was superb and the production was top notch! The storyline does not disappoint! Seo Joon oppa is so awesome in here! I can't take it with every scene he has mostly when he's wearing the leather jacket (which is basically every scene lol) or the priest robe with the jacket. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS MOVIE!! I really hope that there's a second movie!!

To answer the question below: basically the postcard that Priest Choi received was from Priest Ahn stating that he left for Italy. He gave that letter with the cross necklace to basically encourage him to continue fighting the demons in that sense. He was somewhat passing on the baton to Priest Choi.

Seojoon was full of swag especially when he wore the blessed robe and the holy fire on his hand. Priest An was like the second father to YongHoo. And also wooshik! He's such a cute exorcist uwu. Also DoWhan! We need to see how he became like that if there's Part 2.

So we need a part two pleaseeeeeeeeee

Ann Aug 20 2019 3:08 pm Very well done. This is the first Korean production I have seen in a movie theater (duh) and what a difference it makes, not just the large screen but the sound effects. It’s because Korean movies are generally not shown in many American markets. This is a story about faith and good triumphing over evil. This movie is intense, scary at times, will make your skin crawl, and it also evokes emotions and joy and relief as the good guys win. It is not cheesy. It is extremely well acted, directed, choreographed, and believable with good special effects. Kudos Park Seo Joon and the others as well. Unlike the seminal film, the Exorcist, there is no vulgarity, swearing, and blaspheming (the reason I rarely watch American films), but the shock value is still there and the message is powerful. If properly marketed, this film could be as popular as Train to Busan and representative of the impressive Korean film industry. As a Christian (protestant) viewer, I heartily recommend it whether you are a believer or not as it is entertaining, not offensive. Bravo!

He has proven to be quite a versatile actor and he's got acting chops and great work ethics. From the Divine Fury movie synopsis, I'm guessing he's playing a brooding, fierce and physical role. Can't wait to see what he brings to this new character!

Of course, the possibility of working w/Ahn Sung Ki is a huge honor for any SK actor esp.breaking into films... He may have a list of works longer than Ahn Nae Sang lol (though ANS probably filmed more hours since he has done so many dramas).

Outside of a few exceptions like major hallyu stars, most people have to work their way up from playing small characters roles. The fact that Woo do Hwan got a major supporting role in his first film should be cause for celebration.

Hedwig Mar 24 2018 10:47 pm I am excited. Kim Joo Hwan, the director and Park Seo Joon became really close during the filming and subsequent promotions of Midnight Runners. So not that surprising really they are teaming up again. Since the titular role in this movie is that of a young man who lost his father, I am hoping that this helps PSJ to try something outside of the rom-com or action comedy genre he seems to have gotten stuck in the past few years.
