Besides offering rides to passengers, a group of employees at Rainbow Taxi also discreetly offers a special revenge for hire service. Kim Do-Ki (Lee Je-Hoon) leads the revenge group with Owner Jang Sung-Chul (Kim Eui-Sung), Hacker Ahn Go-Eun (Pyo Ye-Jin), Mechanic Choi Kyung-Koo (Jang Hyuk-Jin), and Mechanic Park Jin-Eon (Bae Yoo-Ram). People that have been victimized and cannot find redress through normal channels, reach out to Kim Do-Ki's group to finally receive justice.

After finishing their last mission, some members of the revenge team at Rainbow Taxi decide to go their separate ways. Kim Do-Ki remains at Rainbow Taxi with Jang Sung-Chul, but the others take on new jobs and careers. Now, 2 years later, Kim Do-Ki travels to Vietnam to help a father find his missing son, who went there for employment. As the case becomes more complicated and dangerous, Ahn Go-Eun, Choi Kyung-Koo, and Park Jin-Eon decide to return to Rainbow Taxi to do what they do best. Rainbow Taxi also has hires new employee On Ha-Joon (Shin Jae-Ha).

"Taxi Driver 2" takes over SBS' Friday & Saturday 22:00 time slot previously occupied by "Payback: Money and Power" and followed by "Dr. Romantic 3" on April 28, 2023.
Based on webcomic "Mobeomtaxi" written by Carlos and illustrated by Lee Jae-Jin (published via naver comic.naver.com).
First script reading will take place June 12, 2022.
Due to scheduling issues, actress Esom will not appear in "Taxi Driver 2" as Prosecutor Kang Ha-Na.
Ep.6, which was originally scheduled to air Saturday, March 4, 2023, will air a week later on Saturday, March 11, 2023. A special recap episode will air on Saturday, March 4, 2023 and a World Baseball Classic game will air on Friday, March 10, 2023.

S2 feels a little unfinished in some scenes, as if things are missing or rushed too much. But I only want to mention this because I got the feeling more than once. Best example: episode 16, the "case" was done in 2 minutes or something and I don't even know if the girl was ghost or not?

Anyway, the cast is Top Notch, of course, I love to see them act. Lee Jehun is so funny playing all these characters :)

I hope there will be S4, too.

Witty Sep 26 2025 1:20 am @Choice He is closer to Ahn Go-Eun than Hana, the way he relate with Go-Eun is far better than Hana, if he was to choose one of them, I will prefer Go-Eun. Though I was also expecting to see Hana in season 2 but was disappointed.

Choice Aug 27 2025 12:56 am Well... I don't mind the romantic elements in this drama. But, if I had to choose... I preferred Doki and Hana, the way he was more gentle with Hana, unlike when they first met, made my heart flutter. Unfortunately, she's no longer in season 2, and that makes me sad. I saw the hate comment about Hana and I understand why the audience felt that way. But, yeah, she just did her job, right.

And here I am amazed by Lee Jehoon, he worth getting Daesang. Because the role he played was very challenging, especially since he played a lot of roles here. Actually seeing him doing a lot of action looks very tiring. But if There is no others and others. The truth will never be revealed. Lee Jehoon and friends are very cool. Fortunately, I just watched this drama because season 3 will be airing soon hehe ... can't wait to see these five cool people in overcoming evil with justice.

The cases are much more intense than the first season and that human trafficking case for online gambling game is terrifying. However, i really wished that the revenge team should have that traits of always being cautious with their surrounding and extra alert when their nature is to be surround with criminal things. It's quite frustrating, like how is that possible they didnt notice about Hajoon until the very end? And I'd agree that this series doesn't need romance. Besides, dont KimDoKi and AhnGoEun relationship is more like sibling kind of thing?

Ice Cream Oct 07 2023 12:13 pm For all those crying about “no romance,” be for real. They already hinted that Go Eun liked Do Gi from early on, like episode 2 or 3. But neither could do anything since they still had all their own issues (Go Eun’s sister’s video and his mom). But now that all said and done in season 1, season 2 was perfect to set up their slow burn, up until Go Eun’s confession in the last ep. Hopefully, we start off right where it ended for season 3, and this time have Do Gi realize his feelings for Go Eun ^_^

It is fair to say that Season 2 ruined it. Season 2 is very cheap and acting is not good. And Kopiko...

If you know you know what I mean. My heart totally broke into pieces. I could not watch the last episodes in Season 2 and not going to watch any.

Chad May 19 2023 9:18 am Haters gonna hate. I love both season so much. Season 1 has more background story of the Taxi Driver crew. Season 2 doesn’t need it anymore right? And more focused on the cases which is good. I love how they portray the real scandal that really happened in South Korea, such as the porn group chat, sexual harassment, scams, the high price of properties, cult church, Black Sun (Burning Sun scandal), military and corruption. This drama is feeding our hope of justice, even though it’s impossible to come true in the real world.

tan Apr 28 2023 8:40 am I have no clue why the ratings are this good, and I'm disappointed in the viewers for supporting kdramas with severe lack of jeopardy.

Taxi Driver 2 was just clad with plot armor since ep 1. The geek girl has access to everyone's devices with little effort because the writers can't be bothered to make hacking more believable.

When they toyed with criminals, I liked the alter egos the protagonists embraced, for example farmer Do Gi, but it bothered me that all of the criminals just fell for their tricks without even thinking something could be wrong.

Besides that, it was frustrating to watch them flawlessly meet their goals without any resistance or struggles. Most mediocre detective kdramas will go through trial and error, obstacles, etc. Just because these protagonists have enforcement background doesn't mean they're going to be special ops level of badass, which is why I was bothered that they could figure out information with no issues.

The villain's back story was unexplored but it was still more interesting than the Taxi Driver crew. The cameos were also really enjoyable despite only being a few minutes long, so I hope this says something about how boring Taxi Driver 2 was.

It’s action-packed but the humor balances the flow of the story so as not to make it too dark. I love the cast. I read that PYJ was not the original choice to portray Go-Eun but she nailed it. The role was meant for her. As for LJH, I’m in love! I love their chemistry. I don’t mind if there will be a love angle between the 2 in the next season, as long as they keep it low (like the romance in Happiness). I have this feeling that MCW’s character has a history with Doki. There might be a love triangle. Who knows. I’m looking forward to season 3 with the same cast. I hope we don’t need to wait long.

It's odd cause sometimes in the series she wasn't and almost never in season 1. Plus Go Eun and Kim do ki don't really fit and romance isn't necessary in this series, it's good without and it's refreshing with no cringe romance scenes. :,(

This kdrama is So engaging & thrilling & does not get stale like most dramas with 2nd season. The plot, pacing & cast are so good! Love, love ,love Lee Jehoon who can assume all types of characters in this role as Kim Do Ki. It's humorous at times without being cringy. Luckily, there's no explicit romance which may dampen the plot & pacing although there's a slight hint from Go Eun in ep 16. So looking forward to Season 3!

I have a feeling it will probably focus more on Go Eun and Do Ki’s romance because unfortunately happy ending = romance in the kdrama world. Me2Cb Apr 16 2023 6:27 am As per previous comment, I just watched Season 2 and will watch Season 3 for the DoKi+GoEun pairing. Season 2 would probably have been a fun watch had I not seen the though-provoking previous season. Season 1 had light moments but the darker mood and how the group punished the villains will bring out the blood thirst in the viewers. But it will also make you realize that the group Are vigilantes; will I actually feel safe if this group is in my neighborhood? Who gave them the right to determine what’s right and wrong? Season 2 was so fun and loaded with comical scenes that the viewers forget how damaging the actual crimes were. The cases that got my interest were the first and the last episode. I was specially happy with the episode 16, I saw glimmers of Season 1. But the rest of the episodes were quite lost in translation for me.

Me2Cb Apr 16 2023 5:58 am Contrary to other comments, I very much like the Do-ki and Go-Eun paring, ever since Season 1. That’s the reason I was happy that Esom’s character didn’t continue . Lol! I miss the darker Taxi Driver Season 1 and found Season 2 with too many comical scenes but the Do-ki+Go-Eun ship in Season 2 kept me watching. Had it not been this pairing that the scriptwriters included, I probably wouldn’t have watched this season anymore… and I will watch season 3 for this pair again. Hahaha! I hope Go-Eun has more scenes where she will dress up more. Pyo Ye Jin with her hair down and with curls is very charming. Go-Eun’s clipped hair of course signifies her working and no nonsense working persona.

I'm still feeling bleh, coz it was obvious that this season they were open to the possible romance between Ga Eun and Do Gi all the hints are there. I know, a romance within the circle could ruin the plot but hey I guess before season 3 end this two will decide to finally reveal their feelings.

In S1 I'm stuck on Kim Do-ki for months, and I would still be like that after this S2 ends. I really want this series to win Best Drama award and to confirm for at least another season with hopefully stronger female characters since we lost 2 female characters from S1. It's worth watching and Rainbow Taxi team is worth having a huge international fanbase. My fav couple is Mr Park and Mr Choi hahah. I'm not shipping Doki and Goeun. Fight me lol.

I understand why it feels that way but the thing is, Lee Je Hoon is an amazing actor, I really do think that it's not he's trying to be masculine when he deepens his voice, or in the scene where Kim Do Gi and Ahn Go-Eun pretend to be a couple them being that way is not actually them trying to act as a couple, that's the comical part of it. The show doesn't think that they are cute and the actors are not trying to act like an actual couple. That's the whole comical point of those scenes. We had similar scenes in S1 and we still have in S2 and I absolutely love them. The thing is, it is not meant to be realistic anyway. It is absurd and that's the thing! Try to watch it with knowing what you're watching I'd say.

Rainbow Taxi given with KGE's skills, should do employee screening and would have found OHJ fishy background from the start. When the taxi exploded, someone should have been watching whether KDG really died. (Agreed with G below) I'm really against any soft romance or KDG-AGE shipping in this series as it's unnecessary. Although I would support it if it meant to give PYJ more screentime for her career advance. Also, hopefully they release series of epilogues like in S1, to show how the crew stage all their setups esp in Sunbaek case. Hopefully the rest of episodes wrapped up the season well.

So, knowing how the "curse of second series" work in South Korea, i was very very very, sure things were not going to work....and you know what? Series 2 is disappointing and downgrade in production compared with original series.

The writing is conflictuous and convoluted. At where it seemed characters were being written accordingly to how they were done in the first series, the characterizations start to downgrade. The story itself his becoming more and more convoluted and not really interesting. What drives me to continue is the soundtrack, that still today, is the best k-drama soundtrack I ever heard, and i loved they made new music around the main theme song of the show. Other then that, I still feel like these are the characters i grew to love in the first series, the actors chemistry is very good and gripping. But that is all about what is good here. I wish this could break the South Korean curse of "second series bad production", but, no, still on the same bucket.

Wendy Mar 31 2023 9:36 pm I really love Taxi Driver, both season 1 and 2 so far, but, as much as I hate to admit it, the gap between the 2 seasons gets bigger with each episode. So far season 2 just has way too many overly convenient plot contrivances and some of Do Ki’s fight scenes are a bit too extra. *spoilers ahead*

For example in ep 11, Do Ki being caught by the club’s security guards for reporting minors so quickly, are you really telling me that with all the advance technology that Mr. Choi and Mr. Park have invented so far and Go Sun’s hacking skills, Do Ki got caught sending a text to the corrupt police???? Or Do Ki lying his way into Victor’s memory with Go Eun’s help. Seriously!? In the cult episode it made sense, but not ep 11. Or when Do Ki knocks out one of the club’s security guard with a flying kick??? I was having a hard time processing what happened because I don’t think it would look the way it did if someone tried that in real life. In my opinion a more subtle, stealthy fighting style suits Do Ki the best, but I get it wouldn’t be as interesting to watch.

In my opinion, season is is better than season one (when it comes to story). If you have watched season 1 then you will enjoy watching 2 for sure! The series doesn’t feel the same without the presence of Esom because she handled the role very well. If there is a third season, I would love to see her return. The CGI was bad(That van accident on the start....), Only the last BGM was new in this season, everything else was from the 1st season. The Glasses was just your plane normal glasses, if you wanted to make it seem like a high-tech glass, then atleast you could have made the frame a little wider. They suddenly started doing the revange taxi service again out of the blue without any big trigger. I hope the future chapters will be good...i really hope.

Mimi Feb 16 2023 3:11 pm I am so glad someone else here also noticed the original writer was so good. Tho we don't know how it goes in 2nd season because sometimes writers cant top their own writing. But just for context I will share why I liked 1st writer better.

So basically every webtoon gives a basic story and script ha to be done by writer. If we see there are lot of shows with similar theme like madd dog, leverage, player etc etc where there is one senior and a group controlled who fight bad people. But taxi was different as it was written in a very unique and new style. Like the writer knew what he wants for the entire taxi team and he wrote it with genuiness and resorting to typical kdrama tropes and stuff which makes similar themed shows each others carbon copy. After ep 1p the dramas quality went down and it became the same old previous dramas' like cringey full of tropes stuff.

Lets hope the writer isnt effected by the director and he writes with same mind and awesomeness. It was written, directed and everything was high quality.

Mimi Feb 13 2023 3:13 pm @ kdrama fan in 1st season her role wasn't much and was also not a well written one which prolly caused some controversy as later original show writer was dropped from the sho and from ep 10 someone else came and the quality of show went down, dunno real reasons but some ppl speculated one of the conflicts were her role being short and so unimpressive, i think this could be the reason she chose to stay away. Her character was one of the worst ones in kdramas as if written to make people hate her, like she would always get into dangerous situations despite being told not to and would cause problems for others. Its good that that role was removed, hopefully new good chaarcters would be introduced, even if its a prosecutor's role atleast the character sblhould be written well and should have a purpose to be in the show. But i wonder who are the writers this time? Honestly Iam afraid the quality may not be good as 1st season's early episodes because that writer is gone. My fav show with my fav cast, would be sad if its not like before :((((((
