A young girl named Mi-Ja (Ahn Seo-Hyun) lives in the mountain. Her best friend is Okja, who is a massive animal with a shy and introspective character. One day, Okja disappears. Mi-Ja struggles to find Okja.

kittyweese Feb 14 2020 6:47 am Very good movie, but heartbreaking. I sobbed the last thirty minutes of the film. Story, directing, acting superb -- but what do you expect from Bong Joon Ho except excellence.

I would recommend, but be prepared to cry . . . lots!

Jinjoo Jul 05 2019 12:12 am this movie is well made and all cast were terrific! amazing how they created the animation of Okja plus i'm really impressed with how they made her look so real, the flesh & all that, am speechless! kudos to the production, director and everyone involved! 2 thumbs up!! i know i love eating pork but watching this movie & how animals are being slaughtered could make me a vegetarian soon :) thanks asianwiki for having this wonderful site!

Justyn MacFarland aka Hee-Jung Kim Jun 07 2017 8:10 pm I heard about the premier of this movie on Netflix this month today on NPR interview and my interest was peaked when hearing the Korean girl's name, "Okja." The premise is extremely intriguing and one-of-a-kind genre for Korean movie and the corroborative efforts with Hollywood cast also seem unique. I can't wait to see it!
