Five friends, who are all 20-years-old, leave their home for different reasons and begin to live together. The five friends are Tae-O (Ji Soo), Song-Yi (Jung Chae-Yeon), Do-Hyun (Jin Young), Ga-Rin (Choi Ri) and Hoon (Kang Tae-Oh).

Tae-O and Song-Yi have been friends since they were very little. Do-Hyun is Tae-O’s friend. Song-Yi and Do-Hyun have feelings for each other.

I've always wanted to watch this kdrama because the ML and FL are two of the most beautiful people I have ever seen, but beyond that it's a decent kdrama that's not too memorable. It's beautifully shot and the plot is relatively lighthearted and heartwarming, with the usual conflicts and random problems to keep the story going as you would expect in any kdrama. I agree with a lot of the problems with the storyline that were pointed out already by @Gogontle Setlhare but I would also like to add that the ending wasn't very satisfying. The ML and FL get together and start dating but there was no emotional confession or reason to explain the change in their feelings. In fact, for most of the show I was wondering if the FL actually had romantic feelings for the ML at all, so the ending where they started dating felt weird and out of place. All of the characters play their parts well and are super likeable - especially the 2nd ML and 2nd FL! If you want to unplug your brain for several hours and enjoy a cute show, then give this kdrama a watch.

I love how Tae-o cared for song-i and his other friends. Yes this drama showed what friendship and relationship should be about... Friendship and relationships should always be selfless

Gogontle Setlhare Aug 17 2022 7:22 am This is a stellar production (light, heartwarming, fun, etc), but the storyline is truly upsetting. I guess it makes sense that the male lead will always get the girl but it really was unexpected (despite their history). The leads both emphasised their lack of feelings for each other, that's how they fell for other people.

I do agree that there are a lot of themes or issues that are not explored fully or solved, or don't make sense: 1) Song-yi using the suicide hotline and clearly having suicidal thoughts. But in the end it is as if it never happened 2) Do-hyun never really opened up to his girlfriend about his family situation 3) Tae-O's spoiled girlfriend put Song-yi's belongings on the street. But it never crossed his mind once he found out his girlfriend lives at his best friend's old place 4) Tae-O's girlfriend having multiple relationships or entertaining other people and leading them on while being with him. Then she acts entitled and angry about Song-yi and Tae-O's friendship despite the way she moves 5) That senior tried to assault Song-yi but it was never brought up again, nor did she let her boyfriend know. 6) Hun's father being abusive towards him was treated like a light matter and they never explored his feelings towards that 7) Tae-Oh stepmother wanting him to call her "mom" when she actually hates him 8) They suddenly made Song-yi develop feelings for Tae-Oh just because he showed up on the trip to confront her mom (even though Do-hyun did mess up with that one). They disregarded the fact he doesn't have the luxury to go anywhere at any time and yet Tae-Oh decided to use that to be the hero towards someone else's girlfriend despite being in a relationship himself 9) Tae-Oh got away with basically wanting to have his cake and eat it too. It was nonsensical that he felt entitled to be a jerk to Song-yi just because she had feelings for someone and to tell her what to do with her relationship and trying to cockblock her at any chance while having a girl himself 10) The female lead knew Do-hyun's situation when she agreed to date him. He was very clear about the things he wanted in the relationship and how some things made him feel. Yet she didn't consider it inappropriate to be spacing out and thinking about another guy the whole day or while she was on dates with him. They slept in one room but their partners never found out as well 11) Song-yi and her mom suddenly made up. If she owes people money and ran away because of her debts, why would she be casually visiting her again? 12) Hun sold his friend for money but the relationship went back to normal like it never happened. We don't even know if he even returned the money he got

Final comment- there was no reason for Do-hyun to not get the girl. I get that he was already at a disadvantage from the beginning because of the leads' childhood history, but they made us believe that she would only look towards Do-hyun as her first love.

The chemistry was elite , and the plot was refreshing. Can’t go wrong in watching the 8 episodes .

Sofa Apr 18 2021 3:33 am At first I thought this would be an ordinary drama just like any other I have seen. However, I totally underestimated it. Its simplicity makes it a lovely drama. The chemistry between the actors is beautiful. The looks they gave each other while filming the drama, truly gives you the feeling that they gave everything for this drama. As I mentioned before, it’s the simplicity that makes this drama one of the best. I really recommend watching it!

There some additional “boarders” who join them for various reasons. Also a heartbreaking story about both of their mothers. I really liked this drama and 100% recommend. 10 stars!

Yes, this is what type of jung chaeyeon, romatical classic with natural vibes. This is not boring i guess, not even bad script they are just have their own genre and that's it.

Rc137 Jun 12 2020 3:11 pm Available on Netflix. Dubbed in English and other languages. It’s sooo weird to hear dialogue dubbed in English for actors who are actually speaking Korean. Sounds goofy. Fortunately, you can switch it to Korean dialogue with English subtitles. Much better. I like to hear Korean and try to pick out words I understand. The emotion of the actors/actresses comes out better. I’m watching this drama because of Chaeyeon. Looks good so far.

lilikat Jun 02 2020 7:22 am Wooow. I have put off watching this for the longest time because of how cheesy the title sounds. Yep, just because of the frkn title. But heck, I was completely wrong. It’s now one of my favorites! I watched this right after Strong Girl Do Bong Soon. (Another one I have been putting off because of the title as well. I know. It’s a dumb habit. I truly have been missing out) I fell in love with Ji Soo there and so I finally decided to watch MFFL.

If you’re looking for a cute drama that’s light, will make you fall in love, and feel all warm and cozy inside, you will enjoy this! This is not one of those dramas with cool, epic twists but a genuinely sweet, coming of age drama. I love all the characters and I think everyone’s acting was superb. My only con would be ***spoiler*** how Tae O and Songyi were all of a sudden a gf-bf out of nowhere. I was really waiting for Tae O’s confession or even just more of how they could’ve shown the main leads’ transition from best friends to actual lovers. I felt like it would have been more cute scenes in the drama it would’ve felt a little more natural in pacing. But other than that, I Still Love It 100%! Totally would recommend!!!

MB Apr 03 2020 2:50 pm I really debated whether should I watch this drama.. and now it's one of my tops! It's the first time that I actually loved every member of the cast. They're all very likeable. Hoon and Ga-Rin were my favorite couple. Couldn't wait for them to finally be together. The ending was also nice and I was honestly sad that it's over.

Their are a lot of harsh comments about this drama in the comment section. Just don't watch this drama if you want a complicated plot because it will only disappoint you. Team Tae-O since episode 1 because I loved how he was always there for her since the beginning and how he always had her back whatever happened. I'm glad that all of them had their fair share of happy ending ❤ I recommend this drama!!!

And well done to the actors for trying and failing to save this bad script.

It was like pulling teeth to finish it. And I absolutely LOVE K dramas. But I hate every bit of this one. Yikes I'll never watch it again. It so awful.

The main girl has Cinderella syndrome waiting for someone to save her while she knowingly put herself in dangerous situation, it's so annoying! waste of my time!

Note: the actors did their best acting a crappy storyline! it's not their fault

I loved it! :) It made me so happy to have seen this amazing K-drama. I could stop smiling on how cute this show is and how romantic and heart touching it is. When it had sad moments i also felt sad. i don't know why but this show really showed emotions. I just can't explain how amazing it is lol. But the sad part is Song- Yi didnt end up with Do-Hyun :( but then again I think Song- Yi is better off with Ji Soo. :) i think Son- Yi and Ji Soo are also the very cutest couple. :) This show was indescribable in a very very very good way. 3> Just wow. It blew my mind on how amazing and astonishing it was. and so Perfect ;) 3> This show has shown me a lot and i am so so grateful of being able to watch this amazing show, so Thank you very much for making this wonderful show. It made my heart and soul melt. 3>

All the characters were portrayed very well . Seung-i was a sweetheart . Left me with a nice warm feeling . A wonderful show .

It was obvious from the beginning that its a story about them. Others were merely a chapter in their book. People have to see the bigger picture here..whatever da yeon was to song i..tae o was that for her for more than 20 years. Theres no comparison. Very cute drama!

i agree with the majority of the comments on here saying that season 2 was a letdown. i loved season 1, it was amazing, the characters were developed really well, and even though it started out slow, it was a good pace for the show. in season 2, it got a lot more fast paced, and a lot more things happened.

i really loved tae-o's character but i just think that he didn't suit song-i because they had more of a best friend relationship than a romantic one. i kind of speculated from the beginning that tae-o would end up with song-i because he was the first lead, but when do-hyun was introduced, i really liked his character and chemistry with song-i.

the show got my hopes up because i though that song-i would stay together with do-hyun. then season 2 came in, and everything was ruined. there wasn’t really any romantic developments between tae-o and song-i and it seemed more like they cared for each other as friends. in the last episode, it felt like everything was forced and cramped, and if they wanted more people to like the relationship between tae-o and song-i, they should’ve developed it over a long time.

i continued forcing myself to watch season 2, even though i already hated it. season 1 was amazing, and it was a good drama showing how guys and girls can be close friends without developing a romantic relationship together.

I loved season 1. it was set up so perfectly. finally a drama where guys and girls can be friends! I know I always root for Ji Soo to get the girl but this time around I wasn't. She had more chemistry and connection with Do-Hyun. Tae-O was so out of order, telling her what to do and getting mad at her for having some agency

Song-Yi never felt attracted to him and all of sudden she does while she was really in love with Do-Hyun?? Very unlikely... Very unlikely ending as well.

Actually I came because of Jisoo finally played as main role, I also thought the ending predictable. But hahaha, it’s funny. I love how the director’s shooting the scene and also the writer of this drama. And Im also suprised, that the girl who played as Song Yi is Chae Yeon who is an idol. Her acting is good. 재밌어

Dana Jul 11 2019 7:23 am Not a fan of the second lead being the “real” first lead of the show. That’s how it has such bad ratings. I personally like the Tae Oh character but I don’t want to have to deal with drama of having him get hurt in all aspects. Obviously, the girl he likes is a superficial bitch but then if he starts to have feelings for his best friend who has feelings for his other friend... This guy loses no matter what happens and it’s not fair. He’s the one the ties everyone on the show together. Breaking him will break everything.

I thought id get broken hearted again because the last drama ive watched, he was the second lead role and he didnt get the girl. I know that ji soo is well known for always being the second lead role, but it somehow feels like hes still the lead role jdkdlslsl but i love jung jinyoung and i dont want to get broken hearted for another drama again hdkslala

Akshi May 31 2019 1:51 am SPOILERS! I liked the drama in the first few episodes but hated it in the last episodes. The ending sucked. There were a lot of things left unanswered like tae o’s relationship with Se Hyun, Hun’s job and etc. I really shipped Tae O with Songyi and they are way more matching than Song Yi with the other guy. Ugh so frustrating just don’t watch it if you want a happy ending because this doesn’t really have one -_-

Kgyeran May 30 2019 10:22 am This drama is engaging enough, enough love triangle scenes and does focus on the romance plot but it is.. in my opinion far too unrealistic. You can't help but cringe when one of the characters asked out the other (not spoiling) but she just smiles at him for 20 seconds and there is no hug or Kiss they literally just WAVE eachother goodbye.

If your looking for a more realistic and relatable drama I wouldn't recommend you to watch this but if your looking for something to cringe and laugh at then this is the drama for you. It is definitely not an outstanding Kdrama but it's like 55% satisfaction

I watched the two dramas one episode after another and honestly I like the first one best. There were some priceless scenes in that one that we didn't get in the latest one. Also, I love the original Hoon best as well as the quirky Ga-Rin. I'm hearing the story will continue on Netflix..but who knows when that might be.

I'm a very picky person when it comes to watching a series/dramas (im sorry) but this one made me genuinely embraced it. I knew that this was a remake/newer version of minho's 2015 drama but I haven't watch that one but I will most probably before season 2 drops. I really have fond feelings towards youth/college, romance dramas, it feels nostalgic & that first love concept really sparkles through it. I love the cast too! they embodied their characters so well, that you will identify their uniqueness. Those moments between the three leads, made me remind how I felt when I watched The Classic in terms of romance, the first love feels. That ending made me pull my hair in both ways. Rather than being heated by who's who gonna end up with, I'm actually enjoying Song Yi's moments with Tae-O and Do Hyun since there's differences when she's with them. When she's with Tae-O, she's a lot more comfortable, like an old friend, best friend that you can talk to anything in transparent. she's more joyful like she beams into a ray of sunshine without getting hurt by the heat. When she's with Do Hyun, it feels like I'm watching her with her first love story, idk if the second half of the series will have a backstory for Tae-O & Song Yi (I'm sure they do), she's more conscious about her surrounding, genuine conversations that have depth and she's like into this spring season where she starts to blooms. idk, I'm enjoying these differences when she's with Tae-O & Do Hyun. The side characters aren't just comical fillers but for sure they also have deep reasons & background story that hopefully we could get from the second half. I hope they will release the second half of the series this year too though since they already filmed it.

I'm happy because Ji Soo be the lead male, in another dramas he always be the second male actually Page Turner, and i drama he always be broken heart guy and can't have his love(I'm sad when i watch Ji Soo like that) but that make me hope because he is the led male, but in another space i see Jin Young as the second male, he's like Ji Soo in anothe drama he always be second lead and be broken heart guy too, same with Ji Soo, but in this drama he is the Good guy and can have the love of the famele lead, i like that because they match to be couple, but in another space i thik "Why is the lead male not together with the lead famale?" Because in another drama the second male and lead famele always can to be couple.

Without searching more related article, i watch this film, but finally, i got the fact that this film was remake version of because it's my first love 2015. Actually, i love 2015 version a lot, this version is really fun, and makes me laugh a loud, cry, smile, and warm in the same time. The character of the song yi really crazy, fun, cute. The 2015 has stronger friendship power than the new one. I was regret with this new one. I miss minho, park so dam, dan kim min jae. Actually i love the act of ji soo and jin young, but i still couldn't move from 2015 version on. Mianne jisoo and jin young

Roxbel Apr 19 2019 3:13 am Honestly, I was so excited to watch the K-Drama, especially since FINALEMENT Jisoo would get the girl. The entire first season is out on Netflix, and I watched the first 3 episodes. By the second episode, I was already skipping through. The main girl's character is so annoying, I can't stand her. Maybe the way it was written, because usually I sympathize with the main girl and cry with her. But in this one, I feel like she is the typical cliché, my parents are dead and all. It's so repetitive and it wasn't even done well in my opinion, she just annoys me how every 5 seconds we have to go back to her sob story. Annoyingly, despite Jisoo being the main lead, he doesn't even have the full interest of the girl and from the first three episodes she mainly has heart fluttering scenes with the other guy called Do-Hyun. I don't know. I'm just disappointed. I've watched This Is My First Time ages ago but I was 100% willing to give it another chance, and I enjoyed My First Time. This one is just a horrible copy of it.

Until I googled the two and realised its the same creator for both! I guess this drama is a reboot or maybe a spin-off of the other one but if it ends up being the same as the original...oof.

Don't get me wrong, I love "My First Time" but the abrupt ending really rubbed me the wrong way. It 100% should've had more episodes to develop some stuff. I will Continue to watch as I am intrigued to see what continues to be similar and what tweeks they may have made.

Although, I don't find it completely identical it definitely has all storylines of the original. I'm doing my best not to compare. Although, it's awful hard not too.
