Drama series tells the story of Forensic Medical Examiner Maou Matsumoto (Emi Takei) as she attempts to uncover the truth of the deceased bodies she examines.

Maou Matsumoto has begun work as a forensic medical examiner. She doesn't have parents or friends. Maou possesses extreme intelligence with an IQ of 150. She isn't interested in having relationships, food or men. She only focuses on her work as a forensic medical examiner and the autopsies she performs.

ace Jan 22 2015 2:20 pm I have just recently watched Emi Takei and the great Kuranosuke Sasaki together in Otenki Onee-san. I'm sure it comes as no surprise that they were great in it. Emi Takei plays a somewhat similar character in both series. A character with only one real interest in life. In Otenki Onee-san, that interest was the weather and using her Godess-like knowledge of the weather to find the elusive truth. In Zero's Truth, her interest is autopsies and seeking the elusive truth. In both she plays it very deadpan.

Emi Takei and Kuranosuke Sasaki are mostly paired with Medical Examiner Miki Maya. Who does a very good job in a really juicy role. I must admit that much of my admiration for this series is because of Miki Maya's character and how well she played her. Especially in the later episodes. The story really made me want to watch the next episode. For not only are the forensic cases episodic in nature, i.e. one new case each episode, there is an compelling underlying plot that is gradually revealed. Very finely crafted too.

The secondary cast is top notch. Most are faces you will recognize. Cinematography was really compelling without being over the top.
