Plot

A red apple is drawn on the white envelope. And the loving name Park Hyun-Jun (Park Shin-Yang). Jeong-Min (Gianna Jun) writes letters to a soldier cheating that she were a teacher. When this naughty Jeong-Min becomes 20 years old, a 30-year-old youth comes to this little town. He takes care of an injured dove and looks sky with his sad eyes. Every night, he flies the dove with letter for his dead lover. One day, he gets a letter from the sky. The letter sent by the dove is an excitement for Jeong-Min as well. The dove letter contains somebody's loneless, solitude and warm heart. They meet each other by chance. However, Hyeon-Jun leaves there flying the last dove with letter to Jeong-Min, because he is afraid of the new love. Jeong-Min remembers him as a special man in her young days. She flies dove with wool to confirm his identity.

ExplainNut Jun 09 2019 10:58 am This film is about a young girl who writes letters to a serviceman, but lies and says she is a teacher in her twenties; he gets a chance to meet her, traveling to her home village, but they miss each other, take offense and stop writing to one another. Time goes by, he is released by the military and opens a pet store in her hometown. Since they never met personally before they don't recognize each other when they finally do meet and develop a friendship. He loves birds. She loves dogs. Will their former identities ever be revealed? Will there be a happy ending? (For those who don't understand the ending please notice WHO walks into the train station area FIRST). :)

freddy Mar 11 2017 4:07 am A young female artist is encouraged to write to a serviceman as an act of kindness but she lies and tells him she is in her twenties and a teacher. We find out later he has always known she was lying due to her young writing style. Nevertheless he comes to meet her on a break but they miss each other. Cut to years later and the serviceman sets up a bird store in her town and they meet without knowing they had once written to each other. There really is no dark meaning to this movie, don't know why the other two reviewers were so confused. It's light poetic romance at its best.

Eskimo Mar 17 2014 11:37 am I think they are different people. Hyun Jun is 30 years old when Jeong Min is 20 years old. He can't have her when he was 10.. It's a really interesting movie nevertheless; very subtle, very surreal. That's what I really love about most old Korean films.

onichat Jan 02 2014 11:15 am I did not understand this movie. Were they implying that Hyun Jun was Jeong Min's father? Did the 2 main characters end up as lovers, or father and daughter being reunited? Please someone explain??
