Kim Sun-Joo (Park Sung-Woong) is a developer and the founder and CEO of an IT company. One day, without knowing why, he is chased by someone who is trying to kill him. He gets stabbed by that person and as he senses death looming, he feels his spirit being sucked into his smartphone. His spirit then gets stuck in the smartphone.

Park In-Sung (Chae Jong-Hyeop) is a diligent young man, who comes from a poor family background. He has been looking for a job ever since he graduated from a university, but it has been difficult. One day, while he is picking mushrooms on a mountain to make money, he discovers a strange smartphone. The smartphone contains Kim Sun-Joo's stuck spirit. The smartphone tells Park In-Sung "If you do me several favors, I will give you 10 billion won ($7 million USD)." The smartphone then shows him a bank account that has 10 billion won. Park In-Sung accepts the offer and follows the smartphone's instructions. The smartphone sends an email to his company, notifying them that Kim Sun-Joo is going on vacation and Park In-Sung will temporarily takeover his CEO duties. His secretary at the company is Jung Se-Yeon (Seo Eun-Su). Park In-Sung and Kim Sun-Joo now try to find the person responsible for stabbing him and the reason why.

elliemae207 Jun 20 2025 12:00 am I'm glad I gave this drama a chance. I was hooked after ep. 1.. I thought it had a good mix of drama, comedy, thrill and even action! I was surprised with the CEO twist but I won't say I didn't like it. [SPOILER ALERT] The only thing I wish didn't happen was Samchoon Mafia dying. It would have been nice if CEO Kim Sun-joo woke up, then fast forward to a few months later and they would all be celebrating in a camping setting. I'm also glad that the butler was still loyal until the end - albeit, he fell short of his true loyalties because his son was being used as his weakness by Oh Mi-ran. Oh Mi-ran is a very good actress though... my first time seeing her as a villain, and she did not disappoint.

avery May 18 2025 1:37 am this was so good. i was hooked from the first ep to the last. it really shows the good & the bad of AI. gonna keep in my list & re-watch. out of all, Mafi is my favourite - quiet but he gets things done perfectly.

Nik Jun 22 2024 4:58 pm Right after finishing the last ep I can say I enjoyed the drama a lot :) Chae Jong-Hyeop was fun to watch and again this is a drama full of known faces :) I'm a little sad that it has only 12 eps, but on the other hand I don't know what they could have added in another 4. The ending is nice though you don't really know if Park In-Seong still is CEO. I noticed at least one plot hole but this is just a minor one. You should not hesitate and watch this drama!

SKY☁️? May 12 2024 4:29 pm Actress Lee Sang-Hee is a great actress. I have seen her as a nurse, lawyer, and police officer. The first time I saw her in a negative role she nailed it, her acting never disappoints. The Kdrama fans should recognise her talent

SKY☁️? May 12 2024 4:21 pm I was hesitant to start this drama, I thought the concept was lame, didn't expect it to be so good and even made me cry. I think the ending would be a little better.[SPOILER] Like the real CEO would wake up and I think they should have not let Mapi's character die, I was wishing till the end that Mapi is in hospital and he ends up with the nanny :(. and Actress Lee Sang-Hee (Oh mi ran) deserve a special mention, I have seen her other dramas in which she was a lawyer, police officer and her acting never disappoint she is a great actress, I wish people recognized her talent well. The story is 1000/10.

Fm Feb 16 2024 2:20 pm I really enjoyed this drama and loved Chae Jong Hyeop. Since it was only 12 episodes, I thought it moved along well. Don't let the low episode ratings sway you from watching. It was shown on ENA, a pay channel as compared to the large national tv channels like SBS.

However, reading the synopsis above, it sure didn’t seem like In-sung was picking mushrooms when he found the phone to me. I know, I’m nitpicking.

caca Apr 09 2023 9:50 pm Superb Story with interesting plot, excellent casts and plot twist to plot twist. kind of heartwarming drama as well... they know where to put comedy scene, serious and high-tense, and romantic scene in the right place. you may find the first 2 episode are Extremely Boring lol but trust me just continue this and watch it till the end? aren't most of kdramas usually like that? hahaha. I love how chae jonghyeop really suits the character as substitute CEO and parents for Min-a... and for Mapi hyung, my heart broke for him. he was stealing the scene as he got softer and softer even when he still never smile, the character development is good :") we need to know how he changed and get a better life, but i guess the writer didn't have the same idea as us. as for the ending, i think 1 more episode will be enough tho too cover more things omg (crying) Please Give This Drama A Chance!!!! you only need to find a hidden gem from something that looks "basic" in the cover.

And the comedy in it is very good too! + cha jong- hyeop is amazing and i love his character too and so is seo eun so’s character. My point is this drama is really good and the character are written really well, the first episode is a drag but it get very fun after. Looking forward to all the other episodes!!

Mimo Dec 17 2022 1:35 pm My theory is that the one communicating with Park In-Sung is not Kim Sun-Joo, but an AI (a product of the company) that has become incredibly intelligent and conscientious and went far to believes that he is the real Kim Sun Joo. While the actual Kim Sun Joo was involved in an accident or kidnapped or simply observing everything from a distance to test his new invention.

about the low rating it's reasonable since the drama is airing in new cable channel.. remember when tvN and JTBC airing dramas around 2009-2014 their dramas rating also very low (mostly around 0,...% - 4%). So please don't judge the drama quality blindly only on rating.

The drama claims the spirit of a person is trapped in the phone « somewhere between the CPU and GPU chip ». This can’t be called real AI, unless you consider a shaman or a medium to be real scientists. But other than that, the production quality is extremely high. At times, it’s at the level of professional Apple commercials. In fact, I wonder how much of « Unlock My Boss » is just some feverish daydream, some hallucination about Apple and Samsung technologies. I mean, the lead did find the phone while looking for « rare mushrooms »...

This is an ENA drama, relatively new channel and of course the ratings are minute compared to the big networks. But, this story looks promising. It's also under the backdrop of a highly advanced society, so it does not seem so absurd despite the absurdity of the premise.
