Uganda Tora, born with the name Sato Shinichiro, became popular as the drummer for the comedic band “Bee Gee Four” and one of the first oversized TV personalities. Uganda Tora picked up his nickname because of a likeness to the late Uganda dictator Idi Amin.
On May 31, 2008 Uganda Tora died of acute Respiratory failure. He was 55. Uganda Tora was hospitalized on May 10, 2008 when an existing diabetes condition worsened.
