Reon (Ren) is a young Korean man. He avoids contact with other people and works as an apprentice shoemaker. One after, he sees a woman Sona (Hanae Kan) passed out and sleeping on a bench in the park. Reon doesn't know why, but he can't get her out of his mind. Meanwhile, Kokaze (Fumiko Aoyagi) works in the same shoe shop with Reon and has feelings for him.

Has a strong sense of realism and the acting is comfortable to watch, feels like I'm really watching the cast live their lives and go through relationship troubles. Frankly I believe Hanae Kan was the star of the show, with dynamic and relatable expressions of emotion, and played a much more vital role than Aoyagi, who was mostly a plot device used to make sure all of the characters were directly connected to each other. This is a subtle film with understated displays of affection rather than overblown, sunset lit kisses and character development instead of helplessness and drama. I adored its slowness and faithfulness to depicting real relationships between real adults.

Cecilia Aug 28 2016 9:32 pm Amazing movie. Expected it to be a cheaply made fan service movie, but it had a genuinely good plot that was so deep I'm still analyzing it, and it even looks artistic and beautiful. The soundtrack as well was very inventive, and the acting did not disappoint.
