Kyohei Takano (Kazuya Kamenashi) and his friends Yukinojo Toyama (Yuya Tegoshi), Takenaga Oda (Hiroki Uchi), Ranmaru Morii (Shuntaro Miyao) are housemates in a mansion owned by Mine Nakahara (Reiko Takashima). Kyohei is hot-tempered, Yukinojo is outgoing with a cute smile, Takenaga is pretty, and Ranmaru loves woman and is narcissistic. These four handsome boys are offered free lodging by Mine Nakahara if they can turn Ms. Nakahara's wallflower niece Sunako (Aya Omasa) into a proper young woman. The guys are in for quite a challenge.

Sunako Nakahara is agoraphobic, addicted horror movies, pockmark-faced, frizzy-haired, fashion-illiterate, and a recluse. The four young men may need a miracle ...

phoenix fire Nov 06 2014 2:59 am This drama has everything in it... It's funny, romantic, and very heartwarming. The lessons it teaches are those that we shouldn't forget - about family, friendship, other people, and more importantly about loving and accepting ourselves for the creatures that we are with our own unique brand of beauty... The lead and supporting actors portrayed their characters very convincingly. Also, the theme song was catchy. I would enjoy another season but I suppose everyone has already moved on from this drama. Just the same, I'm glad I had a chance to watch this. :)

Italian dj Aug 19 2014 2:06 pm This has been the first J-Drama that i've watched. I really enjoyed it. The main characters have a good chemistry. Obviously who loves the manga or the anime version could be unsatisfied when a story like this is translated on the screen, but i think that it's fair to consider the TV version how a show "inspired by" the original story. I think that the cast selection is really difficult, in those cases, because everyone can draw a personal portrait of every character in their mind. However, i really loved Aya Ōmasa performance. And i've appreciated in a special way the "message" within the story: learning to love ourselves is something priceless. I would love to see another season.

Tanaya Jan 28 2014 4:35 am I couldn't finish this drama. I don't know why, and I know many of you would be thinking that this awesome drama DOES need to be watched, but maybe it was just not for me. Quirky and interesting, but I just didn't feel it. The guys are definitely cute though!

paul roncales Sep 25 2013 3:17 am i dont think the director knows the word demand .. this drama and also the anime is so demand that even my neighborhood watch it again and again .. i really wish that the staff of these movie or even in the anime will change their mind to release season 2 or they will announce to all the fans of yamato nadeshiko that they will release their season 2 . or just announce their releasing date or airing date etc. ..hope that the staff will notice the demand of viewers .. U.U

And for those who hate this, rumors are spread by you (haters), spread by fools and accepted by idiots. So, you better not judge this LIVE ACTION SERIES 'cause you don't know what AWESOME means. COOL !!! especially on episode 1 and 10... at first i though sunako-chan was a ghost or something, but in the end, she is the beautiful girl not just on the outside but still, in the inside... i've consider this movie a educational one, cause we've all learned that, "OUTSIDE is just a Display of Sight but INSIDE is the Display of our HEART , MIND, and SOUL or a.k.a. BEAUTY captures the EYES, but the PERSONALITY captures the HEART", also, we learned in this movie how to LOVE OURSELVES... we should always remember that we are the one's who is leading our lives, we should not listen or understand and follow what negative words or comments others had made, all we should think is to listen to what your heart says, because YOU ARE YOU, no one can replace eachone couse God, had made us in His own hands FAIRLY... so, the only thing i have to say now is to treasure this movie,coz there are many things you can learn here... so HAVE FUN,FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS, and BE YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES... ^_^ have a nice day.. :D

Maybe the one that has dare to said that Kamenashi is a bad actor has never watched Tatta Hitostu no Koi. I think is one of the best japanese actors and I can't tolerate people who said nonsense things about him.

Nobody Jan 04 2013 8:31 am I think the Drama was Good. I'm a total fan of Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge from Manga to Anime up until this Live Action. For those who say that this Drama was bad, it is your opinion after all, but I do think this drama was good, though the actors are not that 'BRIGHT' as the manga and anime, they really portrayed the characters well specially Omasa Aya.

Maybe it was a bit of shock to you that they changed so much but think about it. If the plot was like the Manga and the Anime I think it would be less 'Romantic' 'coz Kyohei and Sunako's characters aren't those characters who Fall in Love easily. It would take a lot of time if they really followed the Plot. But the characters in the drama was somehow more Mature than the Anime, and they we're Dramatic, especially Kyohei and Sunako which was somehow different from the Anime and Manga.

GUYS!! Think the Characters from the Anime and Manga was High School Students and in the drama they were University Students! THINK ABOUT THE AGE GAP??? They should act as University Students not as High School Students.

I agree that there were BORING times in the Drama but If I were to rate it I would rate it 8/10.

Sasha Oct 29 2012 7:59 pm I think they should have season 2. This drama rocks!! Though thre was a lot of changes from the manga and anime, I still like it. The actors are great specially Sunako. I admired her acting here so as Kyohei. Its great that they put their own "Flavor" in this drama, its more realistic than the anime and manga. It s a live action right? It should be realistic, where will you find a melting girl just because she saw a "handsome" guy, none right? This drama should have its second season coz I think its great. Hands Down to the writer who wrote this story. Creative thinking.

I think that kazuya kamenashi did a great job of playing the couth, annoying kyohei. thumbs up! i finished watching last night and sure the ending scenario is really stupid and mushy, but it made me cry out of happiness that IT FINALLY HAPPENS!

Those people who think that Kame is a great actor are believers that Justin Bieber is better actor than Marlon Brando(if you do not know who Marlon Brando is then kill yourself). I pity those fools who thinks an actor/actress is a great actor just because he is famous or goodlooking is so then Megan Fox deserves an Oscar.

As with any live action adaptation, you will find plot and character changes. It's never the exact same as the original (Harry Potter, for example), and I challenge anybody to find an example where this is not the case. You can't compare this drama to the original manga because they are simply two different things.

That being said, I thought it was an entertaining show, and I enjoyed the changes as a longtime fan of the manga and anime. ^_^

Fangirls die!!!!! you're the reason why japanese actors are considered bad actors. Instead watch real actors like watanabe ken, odagiri joe and nagase tomoya. BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
