In 2022, the operation of Shizuka Kuki (Kiichi Nakai), who suffered from an incurable disease, was successfully performed in a hospital in New York. Ayumi Nasuda (Masaki Okada) stayed and continued working there. Now, Ayumi Nasuda returns to Japan and he is heading to his new job at Nishitokyo General Hospital. On the way to the hospital, he stops by a rice ball shop. There, an arrogant male customer collapses. Ayumi Nasuda immediately gives him first aid. The man is then transported to Nishitokyo General Hospital, but, after he regains consciousness, he still acts arrogantly. The rude person turns out to be Ootaguro, who was the director of Nishitokyo General Hospital until just last month. He was dismissed due to incidents of corruption and power harassment. Meanwhile, Ayumi Nasuda happens to meet Shizuka Kuki for the first time in 2 years,
