Plot

The story of a Korean man who returns home after several years of study in France. On returning home, he realizes that he bears a serious responsibility to his aging parents. And a surprise visit from his lover from France offers yet more shocks.

Neto Feb 14 2014 1:13 am Last thing I want to do is talk bad about this movie. I love Korean movies and even the bad ones I end up enjoying it just because of the Korean style it brings. But I will say this, that even though this movie was somewhat watchable because of it's Korean style, it was a complete waste of my time. It was a waste of 2 hours of my night. I have many Korean movies to watch, and I am upset I picked this one tonight. But I would have to watch it sooner or later so I guess it is also better to get it out of the way. Me finding any Korean movie to be a waste of my time, is very rare. Out of hundreds I have watched, this seems to be the first time it has happened, or maybe the second time, just to be on the safe side. But yeah, if you want to watch a LONG movie where the plot is VERY repetitive, and it just goes on and on and on and the story does not go anywhere. Let me put it this way, probably from the 30th minute of the movie all the way till about 20 minutes before the ending, it is just a bunch of scenes that keeps going on and on and on repeating the same plots. For example: He meets his lover, she doesn't want to sleep with him, he wants her bad but she keeps denying, yet she continues to stay friendly with him. He tries many times at a motel to sleep with his lover but she resists. Then it shows him at home asking his wife for a divorce and asks her to think about it. Those scenes repeat 20 times but with a few different lines and sometimes in different places. So literally the movie does not change or go anywhere for about 1 hour and 10 minutes of it. There I said it.

keto Apr 23 2011 7:25 am If You like Great Korean Director Hong Sang Soo Films, then You will LOVE this. It's one of the Korean Masterpiece from the 90s.
