Plot

Bok-Soo (Kim Hye-Sun) put her husband through medical school by earning a living as a fish seller but her husband does not feel grateful about it and looks down on her instead. She learns that her brother, who is married to her best friend Hwa-Shin (Oh Hyun-Kyung), is having an affair with another woman but she tries to cover it up. When she learns that her husband, Ki-Jeok (Oh Dae-Gyu) is having an affair with a former girlfriend, she finally empathizes with her friend’s plight. Her mother, who had to endure an unhappy marriage due to a cheating husband, joins Bok-Soo’s and Hwa-Shin’s plan to get revenge on their unfaithful husbands.

Lan Lan Feb 04 2021 7:33 pm I just saw The first wives club till episodes 15, at TV One in Jakarta. Its a good movie which show daily life and its problems, which I believe happened all over the world...having an affair after many years married. It shows feelings of the wives whom have been betrayed (their sadness, humilitiated and dissapointment) from different character like Bok Soo, Hwa Shin and Bok Soo's mom. Also perspective from many angles, like the husbands whom have betrayed their wives, with different characters as well (Won Soo uneducated person, Ki Juk the educated one, Bok Soo fathe, older generation). And also perspective from the child ( Jin Joo), husband of Mi Ran. This film shows that having an affair efrected a lot of people and hurts lots of peolple. Sometimes people just get bored with their routinity and not having good communications among them, they thought its their real love. This is more interesting than "Wanna A Taste" film.

Since this had been released last 2007-2008. Is there a way wherein I could still have the chance to buy a copy (The First Wives Club)? Adina Jul 07 2013 4:50 am This is one of the first korean drama i've watched on tv. It impacts me a lot as i was young at the time. It gave me one of my first impressions of Korea. They like to cheat. (The korean dramas that i watch after that also had cheating on it)

Justina Aug 29 2011 9:19 pm You've forgotten Kim Hie-Jeong. She starred as Mo Ji-Ran. She's one of the critical characters imo, and it's a sure insult you've forgotten to include her.
